So well written. Even better acting. John Spencer was brilliant! Emily Procter should have been used way more and way better. Ainsley was a perfect character for the show at that time.
"Leo is wonderful" ==> In other "Breaking News", water is wet, stars are warm and Emily probably has the most beautiful hair, most expressive face and most endearing timing of any Republican, anywhere, ever, real or fictional, in this or any parallel dimension of possible origin. (h/t Dr. Ray Stanz to Gozer the Gozerian).
*You are far from the only one who thinks that way* *It is an 'Honor' and 'Privilege' to serve in any capacity whatsoever in the 'White House' and that is the truth, and I'm including the guy who uses a 'pooper-scooper' to clean-up after the President's dog, which would likely be my position, along with anything else asked of me*
Less about political affiliation than it is about being the newest, lowest person on the pole, and as legal counsel, you need your own office and not a cube.
Hopefully she is fully well aware that they will take all her research and writing and work before she finishes and she will never be paid for her time there... Then they will start piling garbage and shit by her door so she can't get out then install a camera once she starts talking to herself while they sit back and go.."see, she's crazy..."
even though he interviewed her to get the job and they have communicated with each other many times is it believable that she would have written an editorial piece about Leo and they would not have made reference to it before this..
One of many reasons WW is superlative, that part of the scene assumes the viewer even knows what an op-ed is. That Leo knows Ainley's one, shows he reads and is knowledgeable . That he holds whatever she said within ( I don;t think it was ever delved into), and make no rebuke.. is where competing sides was back then. Now it's just a lot of name calling , and not knowing facts.
feel sorry that she has to work down there. i think that just because she is a republican, she deserves to be treated like a member of the council and not like some piece of trash, she deserves a better office (even though i think if i am correct, she does get one) love this! thanks again!
" i think that just because she is a republican" ==> BZZZT! False. John Laroquette was speaking factually. (i.e. "Junior staffers don't get corner offices.") The new kid gets the worst office. True in private enterprise, non-governmental organizations and public service.
"fart" ==> Nope. Raspberry, blowing off the idea "Lionel" would devote himself to public service, even to a President "too moderate for [Lionel's] taste", pursing higher ideals at the expense of a "seven-figure income." "Because I feel a sense of duty." Per Leo, "And everything else is crap."
"fart..." ==> Nope. Perhaps Sorkin's heard of "Archie Bunker" ==> See ru-vid.com?search_query=archie+bunker+raspberry Compare "Lionel's" histronics with Archie's tantrums. "I will kill them with this cricket bat... then I will kill them will my bare hands."
