@@oliverdadema With my expat friends, 14 years makes me a newbie. Some have been here twenty some years plus. Zhuhai has been voted the "Most Livable City In China a Number of Years" Population only 2.5 million, most beautiful parks. No metro but still great public transportation.
I live in HK, also amazed for the speedy changes of China! But I don't like the scooters either, most of them are delivery guys who are in a hurry, so it s very dangerous. I hope the authorities are thinking about how to improve the situation now.
@@manli6876 I give way to these delivery guys and gals, it doesn't bother me one bit. Sure in our city they are everywhere. These are young men and women working as independent contractors trying to make a living. I give way all the time to these hard working and aspiring young people. To these individuals time is money, more deliveries more income. Give them a break, they are good people!!
Go for food and night life : Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing Go for history: Beijing,Xi’an Go for city life: Shanghai Go for natural beauty: Guilin, Tibet, Zhangjiajie Go for high technology: Shenzhen (you are here)😊
Some ideas for your next trip to China. Pandas in Chengdu. Terracotta warriors in Xi'an. Incredible mountainside buildings in Chongqing. Avatar mountains in Zhangjiajie. Great Wall near Beijing.
Traditional Chinese gardens are famous in Suzhou, and the IMPRESSION WEST LAKE show in Hangzhou is a must-watch. Wuzhen will take you back through time, it's a water town near Shanghai, YunNan is like heaven, HaiNan is a vacation vibe, don't forget FengHuang town if you visit Avatar mountains, XinJiang and west Sichuan could be Switzerland if you find the right area.....not to mention Tibet. All in all, take your time and enjoy! But if you want to experience real local life, you would need a guide/speak the language/stay for a while.
For a first-timer, I recommend Shanghai, a truly fantastic introduction to China. Shenzhen's a cool city but it's not built with tourists in mind, it's full of high-tech corporations and R&D centres, rather than classic touristy areas like historical sites.
Shenzhen is an incredible city with endless shopping malls, countless beautiful parks, the world's largest number of skyscrapers, and many high-tech features
@@Mars-si6gjyou can’t blame them. 20 years in the west would see little changes, things move really slow. That’s why they don’t understand how fast things can change in China in 20 years.
I've traveled almost all over China, and in my personal opinion, the top places in China that are worth visiting are: first, Tibet and Xinjiang; second, Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai; and third, Hunan, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Guangxi, Hainan, and other places also have their own characteristics.
Wow!!! That’s amazing! I’m planning to do a 15-day trip very soon, to Shanghai and Beijing. And then next year to other cities in China. Let me know if you have tips for those two cities! 😍
@@oliverdadema Shanghai is hotter than Shenzhen, so please be prepared that traveling at this time will be more painful. If you only have one day, it is recommended to visit Little Lujiazui (Pearl of the Orient) in the morning, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street in the afternoon, Yu Garden in the evening, and return to the Bund in the evening to take a cruise on the Pujiang River to see the night view. If you don’t like shopping that much, you can also go to Xintiandi, which is two subway stops away from Yu Garden, in the afternoon. If you have two days, add Disneyland. If you have three days, plus World Expo Riverside and Tianzifang, if you have more time, just go all the way from Sinan Road - Huaihai Road - Xintiandi. If you have four days, add an in-depth tour of Xuhui, including various old houses and exquisite shops in Xujiahui and North Xuhui areas. If you have five days, you can consider visiting the suburbs of Shanghai, such as Zhujiajiao or Songjiang. Tickets for the Forbidden City and other popular attractions must be reserved online in advance. There are no offline ticket outlets now and they cannot be purchased on the same day. You can take the high-speed rail from Shanghai to Beijing, which is cheaper and more convenient than flying and takes about four hours. On the day of arrival, you can visit Shichahai during the day and Sanlitun in the evening to try Beijing delicacies. The next day to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Jingshan Park (overlooking the panoramic view of the Forbidden City). On the third day to Badaling Great Wall. On the fourth day, you may visit the Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven Park. Or you can arrange a one-day food tour. This RU-vid is very worthy of reference. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8EfW1OCK8lU.html Many Chinese people don’t know about these small shops. I don’t know if you like bars or not. You can go to Fuxing Park in Shanghai and Gongti West Road in Beijing. There are all kinds of bars , and there are many foreigners like you.
Must visit places , chongqing, Chengdu, Shanghai, and so many , or if you like ancient towns , phoenix ancient town , wangxian vally , lijiang , Dali and many many more
China is truly vast, with many cities worth visiting. Instead, I would particularly recommend visiting Chinese museums, such as the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an and the Sanxingdui Museum in Sichuan. This way, you not only explore modern China but also delve into its history and civilisation. I suggest hiring an English-speaking guide for your visits :)
One thing about online ordering/ pre-ordering in China that ppl don't have to queue in Starbucks, they use apps like 美团 or 饿了么 to get food delivery, super convenient
I suggest you go to Shanghai next time. It is also a very amazing city and the most "Western" city in mainland China. I think you will like it😊. I also highly recommend Chengdu, which has a panda base and is a leisure and very life-like big city.
If you come to China again, I’ll definitely recommend my hometown Xi’an(西安) where it is famous for its long history for 13 dynasties. Really recommend The Datang Everbright city(大唐不夜城) and 长安十二时辰theme park in Xi’an. You’ll definitely feel the vibe of Tang Dynasty!
Finally😂 I saw another Dutch on youtube. I’ve been suffering from Max Vestappan for ages 😂 welcome to my home country and wish you enjoy the trip there. Btw, China is a developing country and like other countries, there will be up and down sides. I believe you are like many other RU-vidrs, with an open mind and eyes looking for beautiful things, you will have an amazing trip
Come to Shanghai. You will be amazed by its modernization and its highly developed public transportation as well as delicious snacks. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, Yuyuan Garden and Shanghai Oriental Pearl are worth exploring and visiting.
There are also many Starbucks stores in China, but young people now prefer milk tea shops. Do you know how many Starbucks stores there are in Shanghai? More than a thousand 🤣
Strictly speaking, Shenzhen is not a tourist city. If you want to learn about thousands of years of Chinese culture, go to Xi'an. If you want to learn about hundreds of years of Chinese culture, go to Beijing. If you want to learn about modern China, go to Shanghai. If you want to enjoy natural scenery, go to Zhangjiajie, Huangshan, Yunnan Province, Tibet, and Xinjiang. If you want to experience LGBT culture, go to Chengdu.😄
Shenzhen has got lots of tech and mega malls, but not exactly a big tourist spot. If you want to do the normal tourist stuff then go to Beijing and Xi'an, most people's first stop is Shanghai, if you want see a lot of pandas go to Chengdu, if you want to experience an ultra cyberpunk city go to Chongqing, Harbin is a winter wonderland and if you are into mindblowing marvels of nature there are literally countless attractions scattered throughout the country.
lol your chinese subtitles cute too man, good to see you knowing this place in person. dont know about ur plans next, but if you can, chongqing and chengdu is highly recommended.
I recommend visiting Yunnan Province, (Kunming City, and Shilin town). The province is diverse with minority people's culture, and slow-paced life in western China. Kunming is the spring city with nice weather all year around (rich in plantations and flowers) and great selections of food because of the minority culture .(Pu'er cuisine, Dai cuisine, rice noodles, wild mushrooms, all kinds of rare wild herbs), Shilin is just 1hr way from Kunming, with the famous unique rick forest terrains. Looking forward to see your travel vlog in my hometown
Hi!Here I recommend you some travel suggestions for Shenzhen other than the city center. If you want to experience a different kind of rail transit, you can take BYD Yunba near Pingshan Station. This is a small and medium-capacity monorail transit system developed by BYD.Compared with the subway, it has a different riding experience and does not require security checks. If you want to go to the port, you can go to Yantian Station to see Yantian Port. If you want to go to the local migrant workers' community, you can go to Bao'an District, Longhua District, Longgang District, etc. For example, if you take Line 16 to Xintangwei Station, you will find many urban villages. These are the communities where migrant workers in Shenzhen live. The price of meals there is very low compared to the city center of Shenzhen, but the houses are relatively old and you can experience different customs and customs from the city center. If you want to see the natural scenery and high-rise buildings in Shenzhen, you can climb Wutong Mountain. In short, there are still some good places in Shenzhen, depending on how you choose.
苏州 Su Zhou is obviously a must go! If you like Japanese gardening, you will find its origin in Suzhou, China. If you like Japanese Green tea, like Matcha( an obsolete way of preparing green tea back in ancient Tang Dynasty,8th century). You will find the best green tea on the entire planet in 杭州 Hangzhou, called 西湖龙井。 100 USD for like 50 grams of green tea。
As a Chinese, I know that my country is being belittled and slandered by foreign media, but we don't care because we know that we only need to build our country better! At that time, the world will speak for us!
Yes, unfortunately yes… but I will show them what China really looks like!! Oh, and in September I am going to Shanghai and Beijing to make new travel vlogs!! Stay tuned! 🫶🇨🇳😍
If you are a new comer, i would say Xi'an, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai,Xinjiang,Tibet. If you are not, then try Fujian Province! 1️⃣Xiamen(or Amoy)! It is a city that is half surrounded by the sea and half mountains. The Gulang Island is called the Museum for Buildings of Thousands of Countries. Across the sea lie the traditional houses or buildings in the block of Amoyer. It's a heaven for bus lovers too. We have the best BRT in China. Well actually the transportation here defeats all the other cities in China or even maybe in the world😂 2️⃣Quanzhou, the city next to Xiamen will be another place you don't want to miss. There are thousands of temples and churches all in one city! You can simply read the China's religion history here. The food here is really nice! Try it! 3️⃣ The Wuyi Mountain. One of the birth place of TEA. A tea lover shall never miss it! The Mountain lies in Northern Fujian, with a stream twisting around it. You can also try Zhupai here, a tiny 'ship' made of bamboo🎋. It is of great fun!! 4️⃣Xiapu! It is one of the places that be filled with most delicious sea food😍You may witness one of the largest seafarm for laver and kelp. You can also pick up seafood on the beach yourself. 🦀🦐
Retail stores in China generally stay open on weekends, but many places have few people during the day because the weather is too hot. The busiest time in China is at night. Among religious believers in China, Buddhism and Taoism account for more than 80% of the total, followed by Islam, and then other religions such as Christianity. In some big cities, it is not easy to find a temple or church. Temples are generally located in more remote areas or mountainous areas. It's not easy to find them in urban areas. There will be some in urban areas of cities in the northwest region. There are relatively few churches in China because they belong to relatively niche religious beliefs.
If you want to see history, pls go to Beijing and xi'an.If you want to see landscape, like nature scenery, definitely go to Zhangjiajie. If you want to see modern city,go to shanghai and Chongqing. If you want to see garden,go to Suzhou(a beautiful garden city with old ancient building and history). If you want to see how the world's future looks like, you are in this city now(Shenzhen).Lastly worth to go for Chengdu city to see the Panda town!
For your question: Shanghai(city view), Beijing(historical stuff), Xian(historical stuff), Chongqing(cyberpunk style), Harbin(winter), Kunming(natural views and multiple minority culture), Urumqi(for the desert and Muslim culture), Lhasa(for tibetan culture)
Haha, there is a Chinese anti-theft video at the beginning of the video, but I think it is useless, they will edit it, but it does bring you some viewers, I came here after seeing some of your videos on Bilibili🤣
In addition to China does not have the Norwegian fjord landform, the other in the world have any landform。Snow-capped mountains, deserts, salt water lakes, hot springs, volcanoes, tropical rainforests, tropical islands, forests, grasslands, canyons, and many other natural environments are waiting for you to explore.
I suggest you visit Shanghai, Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou, and Suzhou. Shanghai is the most international and modern city in China and the economic center of the country. Beijing offers a great combination of old and new; it's the cultural and political center. Xi'an is one of the oldest cities in China and served as the capital for over a thousand years. It has many well-preserved relics and architecture that give you a taste of what ancient China was like 2,000 years ago. Hangzhou and Suzhou perfectly combine ultra-modernism and traditional Chinese culture. They have been among the most affluent areas for over 1,000 years, and the traditional Chinese gardens in Suzhou are renowned globally.
I would recommend Xi'An. It is a great place to visit. It not only has Terracotta Warrior, but also city wall that you can bike on, mount hua which is beautiful and also has one of world most dangerous hike, Great Tang dynasty everbright city, which is a enormous walking street that has all the ancient style building and probably the place where you can see most people wearing traditional cloth hanfu. there are many performances as well. "The song of everlasting sorrow" is probably one of the best performance in the world, which is also near the terracotta warrior place.
Hi Oliver. I live in Shenzhen. Nanshan district. You can go biking in Shenzhen bay. IF u stay here on weekend. U can use my bike, because pubilc share bike is not allowed in Shenzhen bay.
@@oliverdadema Nanjing is about one hour by train from Shanghai, haha, and it is on the train route to Beijing, so you can make a stay there. if you go to Nanjing try to book ticket to Nanjing Station not the Nanjing South, because at Nanjing Station, you will see a huge lake with ancient city wall and city skyline as background, quite nice.
I think most tourists are from around Asia, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, etc. So, that's probably why it's also in English. You just can't spot the Koreans or Vietnamese and the rest, because they blend in, lol. But if you're talking about distinguishable tourists, probably very few.
cccchhhiiillleee, actually u were NOT at a centre-city point in Shenzhen, actually all the stations /places u visited are quite unpopular, there're LOTS MORE popular and fun activities/areas u're missing out , u should definitely visit Shenzhen again
China has about 22 mega cities now and there are more coming , the US barely has 2 ! A mega city by definition is a city with 10 million or more people.
ummm...have you been to the large two floor Starbucks in Shanghai, I say it's busy, probably not as busy as in Japan...but insanely massive cafe for a Starbucks
If you want to know the real history of Xinjiang that the west turns a blind eye on, come to Hami. I went to 3 museums here today, learnt so much about how Xinjiang used to belong to ancient China and was reclaimed in the past 150 years by Qing
Just wear tanktop and short pants bro. China is a place with the least strict with the dress code. Especially in wedding😂 can basically wear slippers in there.
I'm quite curious about why would people think or had thought that wearing short pant in China is not appropriate.😅 Guangdong Province, which the city of Shenzhen located, is actually quite famous for people there like to wear short pants and flip flops in summertime. lol
