She's a beast!

The generator I have is only 3500 watts and gasoline only. I used it one week and it cost about $140! Cheaper than replacing everything in the freezer, but more expensive than normal grid power! When I shut it down I have made a habit of shutting off the fuel and letting it run the carburetor dry. After having to replace the carb once because of not doing that, I learned my lesson!

Congrats on your gen purchase Looks like a great power house . I left the wheels and any grab handles off my gen . Why help thieves to steal it. At least if mine gets swiped I made them work hard for it . Blessings

That's a nice generator. My lights went out at home yesterday, called the power company they said well we think a line is down. I asked if they had a time when it would be fixed, of course they didn't. Seriously thinking about getting a generator now.👍

I had one of those commercial Generator/Welders and it rattled the ground when it was running so I put a full sized automobile muffler on it. The muffler did a great job on the exhaust noise but the mechanical noise was the real problem.

I bought the largest portable generac generator they make for our house. I also created a spreadsheet to keep track of it. I start it once a month and run it for 15 minutes, I also put a small amount of fresh gas in every 3 months so I never have old gas in it. I charge the battery every other month. I keep track of this all this on the spreadsheet. Oil changes also. I even plugged the battery charger into the generator so it actually charges its own battery for me when I run it. I built a barn out of reclaimed palate material and lumber Only thing I purchased was OSB for the roof and the screws to hold it all together everything else was reclaimed lumber

Took my Champion 3400 on it's inaugural camping trip a couple weeks ago and the remote start was the BERRIES!!!! Mine is supposed to last 2 weeks without running with the switch turned on for the remote starter to work.

Thanks, Just bought this unit, did not pull start, battery low 10v, lights on unit for electric start came on anyway even though battery was low , using propane, did all the required on label to start, now charging battery, wish there were common troubleshooting videos for things like this explain how to charge battery and settings on charger etcetera, also fuel valve explanation for propane use..

I purchased the Predator 9500 inverter generator a couple months back and it was over 235 lbs packed, so I feel your pain. A scrap piece of plywood and semi controlled gravity experiments to get it from the truck bed to the ground. Thank goodness no assembly required; just gas, earl, and go. With some mindful load management, I can startup the 2.5 ton a/c unit first then fridge and lights. I even still have leftover capacity to run the water heater. If I feel up to the challenge, I might attempt to convert it to have the option of running it on propane.

the dial between gas and propane is interesting...can you set it in between the two fuels so it runs both simultaneously so as to not use up one fuel type as quickly?

How funny...! I never missed "the money clip" of that video. Of course, | wasn't then (nor am I now) all that captivated by gasoline generators; solar is waaaay more my thing. So I was watching for the process, not necessarily the end result. The only concern I would have re: plastic sheds would be the heat, but I will assume you've figured that in. Please make sure it is animal-proof!

That looks like a good generator. I like the solid looking frame. I wanna see what the plastic shed looks like.

I bought one of those plastic sheds years ago and if I was to do it over again I would use sealer between all of the joints. The roof panels definitely need to be sealed because the overlaping strip does not do the job long term.

Consider building a shed for it. Plastic one can sweat and hold moisture. I guess if vent it that would not be an issue

Very nice unit, Brad! If you run it on propane, you won't believe how clean the oil stays. What are the dimensions of the shed that you getting from SunCast? I may go in that direction. Currently, I store my generator in my garage, and it's a pain to wheel out and plugin and to turn the NG on. (especially during a rainstorm and at night). Come to think of it, the remote would probably only be good from inside the house only if you were using gasoline, with the petcock on the generator always open. With propane and ng, I wouldn't feel comfortable with leaving constant pressure on the generator, so I would still have to go outside to open the line ball valve.

What about your shed you were talking about? Any sound readings from it?

Remote start huh. Ok I get the want for /understand electric start. But remote start? So you leave the fuel/propane tank, shutoff, on all the time? Not me! That’s beyond my danger limit! No way i am leaving a propane tank on all the time and the way fuel is now I would think you would want to run the bowl dry after every use. I didn’t see any remote operated valves or switches. Seems to me your still gonna be going out into the shed to turn the fuel on. Maybe I am just jealous cause my old 2009 is pull start.

Can anyone tell me what position the run / off / start switch needs to be in when using the included charger for the battery? Also does anyone know what the charger power source plug should be? I can't tell if I am using the correct charger cord.

How’s the condition of the power coming off that generator? My parents had a generator that wasn’t the inverter style and it toasted their refrigerator and a few other things because the sine wave wasn’t perfectly clean

just my 2 cents but if it was me i would get me a propane bottle for it i think that is what u said it also runs on and then i would run the gas our of it so it can set for long periods of time and not get all gummed up

Thanks for sharing your first impressions. Good to know. Pleasantly surprised to learn the noise factor isn't as bad as you suspected. I'll go back and check out your video that you mentioned, as the place I'll put a generator isn't far from my bedroom. The quieter the better for me and the less others know what's going on here, the better, IMO. This is what I'm considering for a shed. Arrow 6-ft x 3-ft Storboss Galvanized Steel Storage Shed www.lowes.com/pd/Arrow-Arrow-Storboss-Horizontal-Storage-Unit/1001834350 Need to do some pricing of lumber, T1-11, roofing, etc. for DIY vs buying this. I already have pressure treated 2x4's for floor joists. They will be big enough as they'll be supported on a cement blocks, that I also have on hand. Will just need a sheet of pt plywood for the floor. Despite the complaints about assembly, this may be easier for me than building the whole thing from scratch. Can't swing a hammer or push a 1/2" drill the way I used to. One other complaint was about magnets that hold down the top. That won't be a problem for me, as I'll secure that top with padlocks. In reading the reviews I liked the fact that the manufacturer actually responded to them. Suspect a metal shed will last as long, if not longer than a plastic one. (There's a 15 yr life according to manufacturer.) If I have to, I can add some bracing inside, but for this size, doubt that'll be needed. Can add some sound proofing, but based on what I heard with yours may not need it. Size of this shed seems to be OK for where I need to put it to connect to the panel and propane. And, to store some related stuff in it. If I go with this, the money saved over a plastic one will go towards vents & fan. Plus power cords, interlock, electrician, etc. I know what you mean about trying to stretch a dollar. Especially these days. If you have any thoughts on this, they will be appreciated.
