Make sure you change the oil a few times before you start putting hours on it regularly. I changed mine probably 5x in the first ten hours of operation and there was a lot of metallic glitter in the first few oil changes.

Thanks for this comment. Do you recommend this unit? I just want a backup generator to run my 1/3 horsepower sump pump. Is the battery easy to replace? I always have to take my battery out of the lawnmower during winter.

@@glen7695 It seems to be a decent budget generator for light to medium use. Mine always started easily. I didn't use it a lot but didn't have any trouble with it. I ended up selling mine to get a smaller inverter gen that was much lighter and easier to transport. It is heavy and hard to move around. Mine didn't have a battery. It was manual start.

Thanks for the great video. If it's been sitting for a month or so, do you still have to choke it? (I would think that you do). The comment below recommends that the oil should be changed several times in during the first 10 hours of operation. Did you find metal flakes in the oil when you changed it?
