@@YouLookinAtMe-Bro appreciate it brotha! I’m not trying to be RU-vid famous or anything so I easily forget to keep the phone in landscape when I get excited haha. I do agree w the portrait mode being less fun to watch, but I’ll def stick around if it’s a video I’m interested in. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
you shouldn't refuel a generator, any small engine or any vehicle while it's running(or hot). the vapors could explode if it gets ignited by sparks or spillage hitting the hot engine/exhaust. stay safe 😉
Just the 2 🤣. Was going to sell the Predator, but it was barely broken in and it was only $700 brand new. I wasn’t going to sell it for $400 so I kept it. I use it in the shop now or as a loaner. The Westinghouse did feel it, but it didn’t big like I was anticipating. I ended up running a lot of other circuits on top of the ac. It has PLENTY of balls for what I have. 🤘🏻
@@josegarza8362 I personally think soft starts should be on all ac u it’s just to help preserve the life of them. Do u need it for the generator to run the ac, no, but is it a good idea to put one on, yes. Just my personal opinion. 🤘🏻🍻
Your generator doesn't have enough amperage to power the compressor's initial load. The LRA (Locked Rotor Amps) is over 100 amps, but your generator's maximum is 50 amps. To run a 4-ton AC unit efficiently, you need to install a soft start device on the AC unit. This device limits the amperage, allowing you to use your generator without risking damage.
A soft start is absolutely on the list of things to install. It would make the ac’s life so much easier. I don’t run it unless I need to. Usually when the power goes off I can wait it out without having to run it off the generator. BUT, in the middle of Texas summer if it’s off for more than an hour we have to run it. I do my best to try and only run the ac so it stresses the generator and any other circuits I’m running as little as possible on start up.
It never happens, when in time many go backward. IE: The first TV I saw was in the 50's and the size was only 3" . Yes 3" X 4". And they were found in many taverns. Where people were so excited they would stand OUT side and watch that little picture for hours. Now over many decades, TV's have grown VERY large and BIG. Many have 75" TV's in our homes. Great and awesome Fidelity. Sadly, many video's and movies now are going back to have MORE black borders; that many are bigger than what you can see. So sad. Thus, I will not watch ANY TV that does not fill the TV; that mimics "Ipads and tablets". WHY? FILL it up people. Why sit and watch at more black borders than the pictures. That's crazy and so sad. Finally: if you are going to show it on TV's; turn your phone 90°, so your pictures will FILL your TV's. And it will be 1080 HDTV perfect. The way it is designed to be. OK? K!
I know!!!!! Pretty cool that this generator will run a 4 ton central AC and heat huh!?!? Thanks for watching! Seriously tho, your problem w the video has been addressed in previous comments. Try to not to let my video w the black bars on the side or others like it cause you too much stress in your life. Thanks for your article. Have a good one. 🍻
I have an app on my phone that alerts me of outages and approximate times for power restoration. Lots of the time I’ll get the alert that power has been restored and I’ll check it from there. Also, if that doesn’t work, my neighbors are like a cheat code for me. They have a whole home automatic transfer switch system that goes off on its own when power is back so I listen for their generator to go off if I need to. If their generator is off I know the power is on.
Hahahaha. I’m only a semi professional video maker and even worse w computers. Not all of it was shot horizontally either. I got so excited that it ran my central ac that I forgot all about holding the phone the right way haha.
No prob man. Yea, probably could have save some cash and a headache for sure. I do like the 50amp plug option on this one tho and the fact it has more power in general. I do still have the predator tho. It’s definitely a kickass little generator. 🍻
@@ryanbennett7106no sir. I haven’t needed to run the ac w it for almost 8 months or so. Runs it no problem. The initial start up is definitely noticeable, but after that it’s light work for the generator. A soft start would be super beneficial.
@@KoreyB03 yessir i really appreciate it im on the fence of trying to hunt down a deal or just buying new they are 1090$ to the door on Amazon definitely looking worth it
@@ryanbennett7106 that’s exactly how I got mine. The first one was beat up pretty bad. Took them a week or so to get me another one. After that it was all good. Definitely worth it I believe.
@@jochetaman23 I mean, I’ve done some pretty stupid shit, but I didn’t fuel it while it was running because it ran out of gas and cut off before I could do that. Maybe next time? 🤘🏻
I haven’t tried that. I really don’t ever plan to run it w propane just because I don’t have a tank bigger than 20lb so I haven’t even put the hoses on it.
Had my HVAC technician check out my a/c thoroughly yesterday and he determined that I had a control board that was weak. Turned out that it was still under warranty so he replaced it and everything is working perfectly.
Really? That’s weird. I wish I could offer suggestions on possible fixes, but I’m def not a pro. Mine runs the ac and a lot of other things all together. Hopefully u can figure it out.
Yea... It's running... On power that's 20% distorted. Get ready to replace all your central air control boards as well as anything with a printed circuit board.
Dude. That dirty power thing is over rated. As long as your not using near 100% capacity of the generators available running watts your fine. Keep it at 75% or so your hz shouldn’t distort nearly enough to effect control boards.
@@Dickj203 with what I’ve been told about dirty power I agree. Im not an expert on dirty power, but I’m definitely not running the generator at 100% of what it could when I run it. I haven’t run my house on it since this video 5 months ago. I use it for emergencies only inorder to keep the family warm/cool and fed when the power is out. 🍻
You have a 3 Ton a/c unit. The very first number is tonnage. Yours was a 3. Huge difference between 3 and 4 Ton. 4 Ton requires 14 KW to START the compressor. Heavy amp load upon start-up.
That is 100% my next purchase for this setup. They’re expensive, but worth it from all the videos I’ve seen and people I’ve talked to. I thought about doing that before buying the Westinghouse, but went w the bigger generator just so I can run a little more house off of it. It doesn’t seem like that bad of an install either. Have u done it? If so, how is it when your ac kicks on? Normal start up? Any lights dimming or anything?
@@KoreyB03 Yea I installed one on my 4 ton AC unit. It is very easy to install also, you just have to splice in one wire that goes to the compressor. and the other 3 wires you can use butt connectors and they plug into the top of the contactor and capacitor. It made my starting amps go from 56amps to an average of 30amps startup. It also has some added protection for your compressor for overvoltage and protects from brownouts.
do you have the Predator 6500 with the microair easystart, running yor 4 ton A/C?, my panel circuit breaker has a 50Amp breaker for the AC, will the Predator 6500 handle that?
