Mark and Shane write this in memory of Nicky and Kians dads who both passed. They are very united group. The video is so sad. I was in Croke Park for their 10th anniversary concert. All their families were there. Each one thanked their families for all the support. They were back there for the 12th anniversary having just lost both their dads. So sad how two years can change your life so badly. I felt at their last concert back in the same venue they took a break to spend more time with their families. I never missed one concert in Dublin. Looking forward to seeing them back on tour.

So sad when they discussed two years previous their fathers were there. I had lost my dad before the tenth anniversary concert. The song you raise me up broke me. It now breaks them. It's fine I lost my grandmother that same year when they lost their dads actually 2 weeks apart from Stephen Gately. But she was a fighter that year she turned 100 in May and exactly 5 months later she passed away on the 24 October. I understand the past 2 years were crazy.
And I agree they are such lovely lads and their music is keeping me calm and my head clear from my past. So I am listening to them day in and night out😁

I have to apologize. I was a bit mixed up. This song was actually co-written by Ed Sheeran. Shane and Mark wrote Starlight, amongst others. The one about their parents is yet to be released. This song, I believe, was written for them as a response to covid and first responders. This was written by Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac especially for Westlife as Ed is a massive fan of them and has been since a child. The one written by Mark and Shane was Starlight and others that haven’t been released yet. Apparently they all have written most of the songs on the album, along with record producers.
