Today was a scouting mission for me, I may be coming home with these items when I visit next-
4:52- Thunderbolt blower
8:10- B series thunderbolt 1003

Most of those 2001s look to be for new installations, I believe a few collectors have also bought a bunch of the older ones

It seems that newer sirens tend to be lower quality than older ones. also, you have to take into account the NEW sirens that are waiting to be put into service.

This is in Allendale, Michigan. I beleve there's one in Arazona too. a few things to be mindful of would be bees, snakes and tall grass.

why don’t they reuse those old sirens. it’s just not worth it to let them sit there when they can just as easily be repurposed (i mean the perfectly good looking sirens not the destroyed ones). BTW where are those WS speaker arrays from?

They do reuse them at some point if they can be fixed and will reinstall them if a town places an order for one.if they can't fix it they usually use the parts off it

I don't know what I'm more sad about, all of those sirens sitting there rusting away or the F-100 Super Sabre that was in pieces at the end.

The F-100 I’m told is being restored for a museum, they’re just about to start on the project. I’m not too bothered by seeing sirens sitting around, if anything they have a greater chance of being given a second life by museums or collectors

One of my eyes are crying, one of them smiling. Why is one crying? Because some good sirens got removed. And why is my other eye smiling? Because they got to finally rest after many years of protecting us.

I think RU-vid disabled your comment due to having a link, I know the listing you’re talking about. I am listing my old 1000 for parts in order to make room for the potential 1003 acquisition. I want to see if I can use my spare parts to help anyone with their siren collection before I consider returning it to WSS for scrap value

There's actually an active allertor pretty close to me they wired it wrong though there actually 2 different allertors and a screamer in that town
