this is such an incredible album. no bad songs. Mr T is one of my favorite songs of all time, i listened to it a lot back when i met my current girlfriend and it brings a lot of happy memories and holds a special place with me, lots of nostalgia. this album is proof that westside gunn can rap his ass off with conway and benny if he needs to. all of the features are great. and all the skits/interludes are perfect and bring a unique feeling and aesthetic to the album
No lie that’s the best feeling - when music puts you in a time and place on top of being good music! Big facts - Gunn know when and how to step it up when he needs to. He’s had plenty of phenomenal verses even though I’ll say con and Benny got much more raw talent and lyricism. Gunn got all the intangibles - he’s been my favorite in Griselda for a minute. Haha sorry I skipped all the skits 😂
I heard quite a few say that was their intro to Benny…that’s a hell of a introduction too. Bruh i tried to rank out my fav Griselda songs and it feel impossible. Going by based one what I listen to most - I think it’s between Dunks, Gods Don’t Bleed, Bautista, Eurostep and Birkin (lol)
Bro this one and Blientele are super crazy - some of the best Griselda projects period. I love Hitler 6 - I do got a couple projects ahead of it though. It’s full of bangers though. I love Ready Made - that’s one of my go to ‘last set at the gym’ or ‘get me hype before hooping’ songs.

Droog has another Dave East bar on the track Meteor Man that’s much more recent haha. Something about people “method actin’ like Dave East in that Wu-Tang series”. You’re right, his wordplay is wild. Lots of dope hoop bars too. On that KRUTOY EDITION album, he’s got multilingual punches too haha. “Honey cake sliding with me, no medhovik”, medhovik is literally a Russian honey cake. Also somewhere in there he rhymes about other rappers ‘eating dick’ and his adlib ‘schto za dieta’ translates to ‘what kinda diet is that?’

Ion think so though - that’s Gunn himself doing the adlib and I’m actually think he does them each recording sample cus they sound a lil different from song to song. This the one I was looking forward to most! This this is prob best produced Griselda album I’ve heard! Bro so I got into hip hop in ‘08 and I’ll say 2016 is the best year of hip hop I’ve lived through. It was so much heat and both underground and mainstream were releasing great albums which ion think happens often. Peace brodie ✊🏾
First time I got put on to griselda...was when I saw that action was featured on Dudley boyz on youtube and then that led me to the rabbit hole that is griselda. Classic fucking album!.
Dope brodie! Man I wish I was on the Griselda train early but I actually wasn’t really listening to much music in 2016 when this dropped. I was super heavy into the underground and old school from like 2008-2012 but then when I was in college I didnt really have time to keep up with everything and didn’t get plugged back In until 2018 and around that time I heard Tana Talk 3. Honestly, Griselda is a huge part of why this channel even exists - i thought what they were doing was super exciting. But anyway - album classic af lol!
That one’s coming next month! The big projects between now and that one is Don’t Get Scared now which is up next and HBO. Ima react to There’s God And There’s Flygod Praise Both, Hell Still On Earth, and Easter Gunday 1 but those are all short and I’ll crank them out pretty fast.

I'm in grad school now doing work that might relate to hip hop. Definitely got some inspiration out of the review. And that is the first Denzel album, I've actually peeped. Ed O's first is a classic with a couple dated joints on it. First single, "I Gots To Have It" was a staple on Yo! MTV Raps (I'll be 45 next month) and Philly radio. Also, "Be A Father to Your Child" was used on a Griselda jawn in 2020
I've struggled to understand Westside Gunn. I found his project to lack quality in terms of flow, topic focus and attention to detail on hooks, lyrical focus and song structure. I find his projects to be very one dimensional. But I got that on Conways From King to a God and God don't make mistakes.
My experience with Griselda started after listening to Pray for Paris în 2020. Was a very good album, with very luxorious instrumentals, great features, great performance by WSG. Flygod is still peak Griselda album by a slight margin. God Don't Make Mistakes and Tana Talk 3 maybe are in top 3 albums by the label. Flygod was a very different album experience. I gave it play and do my job 😂. Mr T is probably still the best WSG song ever in terms of lyrics, production and enjoyment. Great reaction. I didn't know you were so familiar with his work. I am not a native American so my experience with hip hop was limited at one time because of the lack of knowledge on English but now I listen only American hip hop pure lyrical ability and great production. 😄
Yep intro was only a few albums earlier. I was really just listening to Benny though until WWCD, then by the time Pray for Paris dropped I was hooked. Haha yeah it’s DEF a different experience - all 3 but especially Gunn has gotten significantly more polished as a rapper. Thats dope bro! Where you from originally and what’s your first language?

Like BUG Mafia (short for Bucharest Underground Mafia - members: Uzzi, Caddy, Tataee - in English is Pops), Paraziții (The Parasites - members: Cheloo - pronounced Chelu - in English is bald but is a name scene, Ombladon and Freakadadisk - which is the Dj ), La Familia (a rap duo - Puya and Tudor Sișu, Controlul Tehnic de Calitate or CTC (Quality Tehnic Control - members: Deliric or in English Deliriously, Vlad Dobrescu and Doc) - pioneers in Romanian rap. There more underground bands and like RACLA, M&G, Xxl & 10 Grei, Camuflaj, Subcarpați and artists like Bitză (he is like our Nate Dogg in a way, he knows to make great hooks, melodic flow and great stories), Guess Who (political and family friendly simultaniously), F Charm (amazing storyteller but not very tehnical overall), Cedry2k (one of the best, old school rapper, with different subject master from politics, theories, patriotism), Dragonu, Grasu XXL (he is old school with great hits in 2000-2010 and so in), Spike (entertaining stories and great projects overall), Raku (one of the best, amazing stories and flows), Connect-R (is more old school but he kepp up with today style), Vescan (great flow and storytelling, great rhymes), Nane (is more like today rap - pop rap, trap, i am not mad at that but I am a more old school myself). Edit: I don't really know what happened in the last 3-4 years in rap in Romania but there is a fuse of different genres with rap, manele (equivlent of idk, reggaeton in a way), and pop. 😅
Ka prob the best rapper I haven't reviewed yet. He ended up on my year end list for both years of the channel but Martys reward was before the channel and I just didn't get to languish arts woeful studies. Ima have to do one soon - I think I'd go Honor Killed the Samarai or Nights Gambit first.
