Who Is In Charlotte Hale’s Body?
Ok so right up top we’re gonna be telling you the choices up top just so you know who we’ll be covering as they get weirder and weirder. The obvious ones are Teddy, Clementine, The Man In Black, Abernathy and Angela but the more obscure theories are the twisted personality of Dolores aka Wyatt and Caleb himself.
I know that last one sounds crazy but as we get further into the video you’ll see there’s actually a tonne of evidence for them.
Whoever is in host is clearly having an identity crisis and though we do know that they destroyed the body that they were initially in. When Dolores left the park she had an intact copy of Hale, however as we saw the need to rebuild the shell in the opening of episode 3, we can assume that this is because it was torn apart.
Hale is clearly doing this again and though there is lip service to the real Hale wanting to break free, I do believe that this may be the machine version of Schizophrenia. So yes, A.I.’s can have mental health issues too.
The one host that we know it isn’t is Bernard. Though he was taken out of the park with Dolores, he was shown to Hale in Episode 3 so we can pretty much rule him out of being an accomplice.
Teddy
Now firstly is Teddy. This is probably the most obvious choice out of every character but just because he’s the go to doesn’t mean that he should be ruled out.
Dolores and whoever is masquerading as Hale clearly know each other very well. They share very intimate moments with one another in which they discuss their pasts and shared history and thus it’s a safe bet that the host has a connection to Dolores much in the same way that Teddy did.
Teddy apparently went to host heaven in Season 2 after shooting himself but that doesn’t mean he cannot return.
Obviously James Marsden has been asked several times whether he would return to the show and when speaking to comicbook.com he stated.
“I mean, I’m not allowed to say anything. But I would say that just based on your hypothesis, if he’s died 4,000 times then I would say that the odds are probably strong. Yeah. And you know, But it’s a question I can’t answer. And I think time will tell.”
So Marsden is hinting that he may return and what better way to do it than through an enigmatic new form.
Hale does clearly know that Hale is the face of the enemy which is knowledge that Teddy would have so this does make a tonne of sense.
However, as mentioned, it does just seem to on the nose for me and for a show that prides itself on having twists I can’t see Teddy being the one inside.
The Man In Black
The next choice that I don’t think is the case is The Man In Black. Though never out and out confirmed as a host, the post credits scene of Season 2 did indeed hint that something was up with the character.
After apparently killing his daughter during the season The Man In Black finally reached ‘The Door’ which was the destination he had been searching for for what seemed likfe a lifetime.

Of course it's Dolores. She said to "Hale" "You belong to me". Dolores has two personalities, the sweet girl and Wyatt. How she managed to make a "ball" of her other self, I don't know.

maybe Hale has done something we haven't seen in the show that leads to Dolores making a new one with obviously another marble, this would imply a time gap of course, but can see that happening.

The "she tried to kill us all" sentence also makes the Wyat theory pretty unlikely. 'Old code' Wyat never met Charlotte Hale and thus wouldn't even recognised her. Besides, the current day Delores is already a merger between Wyat and the old (innocent) Delores character. So having another Wyat seems convoluted and unnecessary. My money is on Angela or Clementine tbh

There are so many issues with the theory. I watched this being born on the reddit sub and many people ripped it apart with clear examples of plot holes. I do not think Nolan and Joy would write themselves into that kind of corner.

We don't know how long Wyatt was in control, even in the old westworld. Wyatt code coming to the forefront of the personalities could have happened long before Hale did anything. Also, there could have been inner dialogue, as we saw many times when Dolores was talking to another Dolores. So I'm sure the Wyatt fragment did know who Hale was. I had forgotten that Angela was part of Wyatt's gang, and I don't recall the parts where Clem was. Neither of them seemed intimately connected to Wyatt. Not like Dolores/Teddy or Dolores/William. Thats why it seems unlikely to me that it is either of them.

@@heavyspoilers The major thing I noticed was that the scenes where Hale is tearing at her skin seems to be an allusion to the scenes in Season 1 where Dolores finds a wire poking out of her arm and decides to tug on it.

I don't think so. The Dorlores body used the name Dorlores with Caleb instead of the fake name she used earlier. Also, I would think she wouldn't remake her own body for Wyatt since that could cause her to be recognized (it seems like a weird risk to take if she wasn't using it). If Dolores was in Hale, would she have murdered the perv in the park since the Wyatt is separated?

At the beginning of the episode when the Charlotte shell is looking in the mirror she says "Charlotte Hale... But she tried to kill us all." I don't believe it is Caleb, but it is a great theory

Unless Caleb is a host. If he's a host with a new story (cornerstone being what happened in the diner) then conceivably his pearl hides someone else from WW. But I think the timeline is screwy for it to be Caleb. After the spooning scene, Dolores is on the phone asking about Caleb's whereabouts....

If Caleb is a host and actually is someone else from WW, then that would mean that at least part of season 3 actually IS "Future World", another part of the park and not the real world ... so then maybe season 3 takes place in both the real world and also this park which is a mirror world of the real world, just with the RICO app as a kind of real life Grand Theft Auto for the guests and Dolores jumps between this park where she wants to give the Caleb host self-awareness to wake him up and the real world where she wants to start a revolution hahahhaha

I think that Serac is the avatar of Rohoboam in the real world. His wealth is Rohoboam's wealth developed from predicting the world accurately. This would explain why he is only showing up as holograms. I think that there was once a human Serac, but something happened to his human form, and he either uploaded himself into the Rohoboam system, or he died long ago, and as Rohoboam become sentient it found a need for a human avatar to facilitate interaction with the human world.

Aidan Mackenzie Because it was made for her to escape. She serves no function to Rohoboam/Serac if she is trapped in the simulation. The point was to interrogate without questioning and to test her abilities, not to trap or contain her. And when she is brought out of the war world simulation and into the “real world” there is no way to tell if she is in an objectively real world or the mirror world of Rehoboam. In the mirror world, Serac could appear as a “real” person and not the hologram that we see in interactions with Charlotte (and the other interaction that I can’t remember right now).

So it's Delores as Caleb acting as Hale on behalf of Bernard to pretend to be a simulation of Delores who is really just a fake Abarnathy in the body of Hale that was once Clementine. But now she is Teddy in Hales body but actually Caleb in the simulation. It could also be Ford. Has anyone considered it's FORD?

Hale said "why her? She tried to kill us," or something like that. It has to be someone who was in the park and interacted with Charlotte Hale before her death. It can't be Caleb he never met the real Hale, she was already dead before Dolores's broke free into the real world.

I see why some may hope it's Caleb BUT one major detail: Charlotte strangled a man to death like killing a fly back in her son's school. I don't think the goody-two-shoes Caleb would do that. Just the overall temperament doesn't feel like him. It seems to me all evidence is pointing towards Wyatt but it would be boring if it is

I think it's the original Delores - The Innocent farm girl. Wyatt is currently piloting Delores. Teddy's old programming wouldn't be so cooperative with Wyatt since his original storyline was to hunt and kill Wyatt.

Well, I do agree that Caleb seems an unlikely prospect, but for other reasons. But... Caleb wasn't always a goody two shoes. He was military at one point, and looked to possibly paramilitary after that. Its possible he did some horrible things previously that we don't know about. And him killing the perv and saying that it made her/him seem more like itself would fit that ... narrative lol. Again, though, unless there's some seriously borderline shark jumping going on here, it just doesn't seem to fit.

I think it might be the original Delores under some level of consciousness. The Host Hale strangled the man in almost the same vigor and fury that Delores would. Since Delores was abused and mistreated by humans, it would make sense that the Delores in Hale’s host body would try to kill a few she deemed worthy to kill. And this ties in even better to the idea that Delores trusts this host inside Hale’s body. Also, the manner they were lying down did show Hale being covered, sheltered and in a way protected by Delores... supporting the idea that the new host is a younger version of Delores; like a child. Personally, I think the idea that Hale being another version of Delores is well supported by evidence. Either way.. We’ll have to see how it all plays out. I love this show ❤️👍🏼

Love a show that makes you think about it for days after, not dumbed down crap they feed us these days. That said it will go above the head of most phone watching people, we used to actually watch shows but now peoples attentions are else where and it's a shame. It also doesn't help that we are fed most shows in one sitting and not as luckily Westworld is in episodic form so we can take the information in, break it down and talk about it. Your theories help break it down and give us more to think about and I thank you for that. I believed it to be Teddy or Clem but you blew my mind with the other choices. The most convincing theory of who Hale is, is that of her being Teddy. I'm very excited on this part of the show. Hope they give justice on who Hale is after all.

@@dstripedape978I don't think it's Teddy bc it's too obvious, but I still think it's prob a guy, bc I didn't find the hookup convincing for some reason... Almost like it was the only thing they could think to do - in the moment - to get him to stop questioning "her" about not remembering he lived there for 8yrs. The kissing seemed forced &not very intimate, &even her ex seemed a lil taken aback - not to mention, most of the female hosts are pretty convincing when manipulating ppl w/their sexuality - so (while I'm likely way off) I think it's a dude.

Hale can’t be Caleb because when Delores woke her in the beginning of eps 3 she recognized Hale in the mirror and then said “she tried to kill all of us” Caleb was not part of that. I think it’s Wyatt or clementine because of how soft and confused the personality is, it kind of favors Clementine’s personality she was strong but very dependent of approval

Valerie Ross but Dolores doesn’t care about Clementine nor does Clementine knows Dolores better that nobody else like Dolores herself said. Clementine doesn’t make sense because they’re not that close nor Dolores cares about her. The only people close to Dolores are Teddy, her father and William. And of course herself.

I feel that Dolores split herself into her two personalities, Wyatt and Dolores and placed Wyatt into Hales' body. Teddy went into the Promised Land, Clemintine was the auger of chaos she poisoned the hosts and caused them to fight each other and destroy each other before they could get to the promised land, Angela suicide bomber herself. I personally do not think that any of them are Hale. But I am more than happy to just watch the show and find out when they reveal it all to us.

So if the Caled theory is true. Then it makes sense that Serac wants the rest of the park data. The mixture of delos and incites technology probably makes a viable "Host" for a human to be in.

If Delores knows about Caleb’s passed life, why would she use him as a host since Caleb’s and Hale’s story has so much similarities. it can only make since if Delores doesn’t know about Hale’s passed life. Which makes sense.

Great video, I was pondering this exact question on who is in Hales body, rewinding, and looking for clues, or a name, and I found none. I figured it was Clementine, i sense similar personalities between the two characters, and I may be wrong, but Clementine also harmed herself before in prior seasons... I forget lol. Although Teddy and her father are also great ideas also. I never even thought of Caleb being in hales body until this video, and after hearing the theory... I do see the possibility. Whatever happens i'm happy to stumble upon the video! =) Subscribed!

Seeing the whole Ying and Yang analogy makes me wonder if perhaps it could be inverted. We know that Dolores has been acting like a murderous cold-blooded machine throughout the season so far while host Hale is seen as the lost victim. What if host Hale is the goody tissues side of Dolores being manipulated by Wyatt Dolores. I feel like the spike in violence that host Hale displayed near the end of the episode seems to mirror season 1 Dolores as she occasionally displays Wyatt like behavior when shifting from the victim to her initial "strong independent women" gunslinger version.

Nah it ain’t Caleb. You can just listen to the way “Hale” talks to “Dolores” in the beginning of the episode. Hale is familiar with Bernard, even saying “why would you bring him back? He tried to stop us”. Hale also says “why must I be her?” which sounds like a Dolores line. Unless the show pulls a major time trick on us again (which would be lame) I believe in the Wyatt theory. Aside from the mystery of who is Hale, we still don’t know who the guy is from episode 1 that Dolores killed.

I like the clementine theory, and caleb is a sim theory. Its pretty out there, and would also explain why the man in Black isn't his own simulation as well cuz the world's already been destroyed. There's a lot of crazy shit happening good thing is only 8 episodes I guess we'll find out pretty fast probably before quarantines over LOL

I totally forgot where the clip is but Tessa and Evan did an interview together. The interviewer asked Tessa how it felt playing a host this season and Tessa said that she relied heavily on Evan to teach her how to play Dolores. Evan then jumped in and emphasized that she meant in the ending of season two and the conversation just turned into rambling at that point as if they were trying to quickly move on. The more this season goes on the more I'm convinced that Tessa is playing Dolores this whole time, while Evan is playing Wyatt.

My theory: Dolores made a new Hale body and inserted the copy Ford did in season two. The new Hale is synthetic, but the true predator spirit of the old Hale is taking back Dolores creation. A human mind inside a host’s body, like James Delos.

I think your Caleb analysis is spot on - I dunno whether I’m on board with him being Hale just yet, but I think it’s a great argument for his world being a simulation. Another detail to support this theory is what we learn about SPEED from Maeve’s Warworld escape in episode 2, and her later conversation with Serac. When Maeve is hacking the surveillance to break out her core drive, she remarks to Sizemore that the footage of the real world is moving slower because the processor they are in is moving at a faster pace. This lends itself nicely to what Serac later says about the end of the world ALREADY having happened. He means: it’s happened WITHIN the Rehoboam, but not yet within the real world. Dolores, having hacked her way into the machine, has thrown off its capability to determine a strategy to defeat the threat she poses to it. To the machine, Dolores is effectively malware - planning to bring the whole system down. If the machine's purpose is to map human behaviour and Dolores' plan is to destroy humanity, then her success would render the machine redundant. No more humans = no more need for the machine. She is the anomaly, and a threat to the machine’s omnipotence, and hence why Serac (the machine’s “human” stand-in) orders Maeve to kill her. So basically, the theory that Dolores’ has hacked into the simulated test world of Rehoboam to build her army holds weight. IF Caleb later becomes Hale then in the (real world) scene where we see Hale ask why she couldn’t just be herself (meaning why couldn’t Caleb be allowed his own body instead of having to use hers) Dolores says something like “you’re the only one I trust” (to play Hale’s important role) because by this point, in this later post-simulation timeline, Caleb is someone that Dolores trusts based off their experiences together in the machine (I’m sure more action will occur to cement their relationship in upcoming episodes). OR he’s just recruited, not to become Hale, leaving who Hale really is still open to debate. All of this is similar to that Black Mirror episode Hang the DJ where accurate predictions of the future are based off the activity occurring within the simulated universe, here: the Rehoboam.

Cant be a Wyatte/Delores she showed 4 pearls to Charlotte meaning one was used because she brought back 5 and that is Charlotte..the 5 Pearls are, Her Dad Peter, Teddy, Bernard and Maybe Angela Or Clementine. They were not split yet in west world when she came back in a Charlotte host with the 5 pearls . Peter has the encryption key .his unstable .so his not Charlotte ..ITs not Bernard ..Teddy maybe or Angela but she makes more sense being the replacement for Liam's Bodyguard .Clementine was Damaged in the First Season and corrupted even more in the Second season ...and Dorris was in the Forge when clementine was busy killing the Host .Dolores was not in the Charlotte body yet and may not have picked her Up

But the issue is Wyatt was never an actual host. His personality was spliced with Dolores in order to make her kill everyone. I guess if the theory is true, it would be like Dolores’ personality before it was spliced with Wyatt’s.

@@RooockKyy rehobaum works on the basis of generating a mirror world in order to predict the future. Yet I believe this could be misdirect, perhaps the forge that the man in black visited at the end of season 2 wasn't far ahead in the future at all, maybe he was witnessing the true present, a world left barren and maybe uninhabitable to human kind. The world of the show might be the very mirror world that Dolores is trying to gain access to. I feel Dolores plays a similar role to agent Smith in the matrix. I know people really don't like the idea of this show being a simulation but I think it's true. The whole show is a fidelity test to restart and reintegrate mankind, bringing an extinct species back from death. The man in black is the first human to withstand the trauma of becoming a host.

I can go like this for a whole day, so I hope you get the point..whoever it is (I think Clementine) must fit to every scene theyve shown

My crazy guess is that it is the young girl from Escalante who Ford used to communicate with the Man in Black. It would explain why she feels so weird in another older body and why she wanted to kiss a man because she always played a young character and now she can be older. I haven’t watched the vid yet, but oh dude I’m so glad you made this video 🤩👍 I was thinking since the show is notoriously deceptive w the timelines, maybe all the Charlotte stuff is happening in the future, & because we’ve never seen Caleb & Charlotte together yet, I’m assuming it’s Caleb, after he’s died. Dolores becomes the first one to successfully transplant a human mind into a host body w 💯% fidelity. That’s why she’s been cutting herself, just like James Delos did in his cell 🤔 💭⭐️

Then D takes the ball from Caleb & puts it into Hale.

My theory is that Maeve is inside Charlotte's body... when Dolores builds Charlotte, the pearl of Bernard is still on the table, so when Bernard goes to the park to find Maeve, she's long gone, maybe the fight that we are going to see between Dolores and Maeve took place long before Bernard was brought back, and I think that in that encounter Maeve asked Dolores to free her from Serac, and she did, but she did it in Hale's body, and that's why Charlotte recognised his hologram. Also, at first Maeve is conflicted about Charlotte's son and the whole mother thing, maybe because she misses her daughter, but then she acts as a guardian and protects him from that predator.
