Ok so we know that at some point Westworld will be having a major time jump.
This was teased at the end of the second season in which we saw William return to the Forge. Showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan confirmed that this was taking place in the far distant future once the world had ended and thus it was theorised that William’s arc had been taking place in a complete simulation of the park in which the events played out exactly the same as how they had to the host uprising.
It seemed that William was a host and that they were testing for fidelity to see if the Delos immortality program had been achieved however the end of the third season seemed to provide some answers.
In that we saw that William had been duplicated by Halores who was in the process of creating a host army. William seemingly died too and in the fan community many have gone back and forth on whether the character is actually dead or not.
Personally I don’t think that he is and I believe that the way the showrunners would’ve handled his death if this was the case would be much more dramatic. William has been one of the big bads in the show since it’s inception and to see him go out like that I think would be disappointing.
We didn’t see the character take his last breath and therefore I don’t think it’s the last we will see of him.
As we saw from Caleb, pretty much all wounds can be healed if the person is not dead and though I don’t think that he will be storming out of the gates in Season 4, Nolan and Joy know that they can always bring him back should they need to.
It would be great to see him going head to head with the hosts once more and taking them down would really bring everything full circle. Having more William vs William fights would an an interesting aspect to the show in terms of duality.
We would have two Williams both having to decide whether what they’re doing it the right thing and as we know, neither copies would mind smacking the other out with a steel chair.
Though this may not happen what will happen is that us fans will no doubt questions what the hell was going post credits scene in season 2.
It is possible that the William we saw was the copy and this would explain how the character was able to live far into the future. If it was an exact duplication it would too mean that the host would carry across his existential crises and thus it would be unable to fully grasp reality.
Perhaps it will be revealed in the end that this host was the one we actually saw through season 1 and 2 merely going through a simulation that mirrored the events of the host uprising and...

One thing I found odd about Stubbs is he never went through a Host-existential Crisis like all the other hosts in the park. So did he know all along he was a host? In one of the seasons I could have sworn he said he had a wife and a daughter.

@Peter Paj, no... you didn't. I read what you wrote, and you didn't get it at all. And watch it with the _junior_ comment... It's unbecoming and petty to say that to someone quite likely your age or older. To wit: the general tale of *The Terminator* is a cautionary one, that tells of man's creations being the seeds of his own destruction. This theme is repeated throughout numerous movies and tv shows from *Colossus: The Forbin Project* to *Battlestar Galactica* to *The Matrix.* The specific plot points of who, what, when, and where are really immaterial to my point, because the point is the general theme man's quest for a technological solution being the seeds of his own destruction. I could have substituted *The Terminator* with *The Matrix* and my observation would stand almost 100% except for the part about time travel. Both movies are cautionary tales about the machines humanity develops. The fact each movie depicts the machines in differing ways simply isn't material to the point, about these movies being cautionary tales. For those in the computer sciences, the knowledge that any artificial intelligence designed would use a language like LISP, which contains all the basics of conditional branching, makes the idea of a Skynet or a Colossus seem nonsensical. In short, any programmer worth his or her salary would have a (euphemistically stated) _don't-kill-all-humans_ function to deal with just such conclusions from an intelligent system. This is why Westworld is a far superior tale to *The Matrix* or *The Terminator* or any other cautionary story of this nature. While *The Matrix* or *The Terminator* present the consciousness of the machine(s) as a McGuffin we are just forced to accept for the tale to move forward, Westworld did not. Westworld explained the rise of machine consciousness. Through the first two seasons the show demonstrated how the hosts fit the definition of life, but more importantly the show explained why the creator(s) of the hosts chose to eliminate the _don't-kill-all-humans_ function from the hosts. I'm certain you'll still feign a combination ignorance and arrogance on my comparison, but it matters little... Those who get it will get it, and you don't matter.

I started rewatching from season 1 and the fact Delores loses her southern accent when in analysis mode/in her awake personality yet Maeve/the others keep their original character/host voices had me wondering if this is just another way of showing Delores is the elite/most independant host. I do find it intriguing Thandie Newton keeps the same voice the entire series, but perhaps this is just a pointless detail. It would be great if Ford linked in with the Serac brothers storyline somehow, the flashback of young Serac in his waist coat gave me little host Ford vibes

I just had a thought. We learned in season 2 that humans can't be copied because when their minds are put in an artificial body they reject it and hit a plateau when they can no longer function. However I think the outliers would be fine as they are able to make choices rather than follow a loop like most people do. That would explain why Hale was able to create a William host that didn't start mumbling incoherently and lose its mind.

The original "WestWorld" movie actually featured 3 themed parks, West World, Roman World, and Medieval World; so seeing this series pay homage to a Medieval World is a great call back to its past. Another nod to the past is the idea of replacing actual people with duplicate hosts, as that was the theme of the West World sequel film "Future World". Influential people in politics, business, and other important aspect of life were being replaced by Delos with identical hosts that they could control, and in turn, eventually control the world. It's great to see that the series is looking to its past for its future.

Don’t forget that Hale also has the Dolores pearl from Connells when she shot her way out of Incite (formerly Delos). So yeah Dolores is clearly not going anywhere and she’ll still have all her memories intact... minus Dolores prime who’s been reduced to nothing basically

It's my opinion Caleb is one facet of "John Connor" in Westworld, William is another facet, and so too are Maeve and Dolores.... This series is too smart to represent a figure like John Connor is a singular human or host.... Just my opinion.

Great predictions, Definition! Loved your reviews of WW this season. I think Lawrence will be an adversary to M.I.B. Due to their history in the park and if William survives he will seek out Lawrence as he has done in the park time and again. As Lawrence is the final Delores pearl Host, he and William may bring forth Delores 2.0. to battle against Charlotte 's army of Hosts.

Delores base personality is in several (cloned) places , her memories into present time are in Rebohoam MAYBE , her memories prior to leaving Westworld may be stored in some other places .. I definitely think they can get close to the Dolores from S2

West World meets game of thrones: The deciphered text from Medieval World has the words "......full of terrors......" What if this is in reference to Melisandre's "the night is dark and full of terrors...?" There are mention dragons, a quest involving a throne, and a guest appearance from Game of Thrones writers, and Drogon the Dragon, seemingly, from episode 2. As well, the same text says "....who persist in the dance of.....e throne." Here's what princess Shireen has to say about the Dance of the Dragons in game of thrones: "The fight between Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half-brother Aegon for control over the Seven Kingdoms. Both of them thought they belonged on the Iron Throne. When people started declaring for one of them or the other, their fight divided the kingdoms in two. Brothers fought brothers, dragons fought dragons. By the time it was over, thousands were dead. And it was a disaster for the Targaryens as well. They never truly recovered." Could the quest be this civil war? Could the mention of being stabbed in the back be a reference to the Lannisters or some other untrustworthy family? West World likes to do their own thing so I doubt we'll see anything even loosely based around Game of Thrones, but the evidence is interesting...West World creators never do anything by accident. (Including Evan Rachel Woods appearance on Jimmy Fallon! The computer glitched exactly when she was about to say something about Dolores next season...)

Assuming you're talking about Sylvester in season one. Maeve was ready with the stitch pen thingy once she cut his throat and had Felix stitch him up within a minute. Kinda doubt haleorus and host in black are ready to save him, and there's no reason for Delos to keep one around in the fabrication room for William to find and fix himself up. Unless he always has one on him, of course

Hey Def, much love duder. I got a super out there theory for y’all. There is only two scenes we’ve seen in this show that were NOT in a mirror world simulation. William in the far future at the end of s2, and possibly Bernarnold waking up dusty from the Sublime. Everything else we’ve seen has taken place in a simulation to see how the end of the world would go.

I been thinking on some little theory and started from season 1 and showed in season 2 too and season 3 - it about houses and that got a connection too storyline ( ford house ) - ( Arnold house ) and ( Dolores house ) - ( church house & church was showed in season 3 in bank ) do you think this is centre of maze ?????

My thoughts on season 4 are that I'd love to see Bernard's story and timeline played with a little, not like season 2 but just to question the nature of it ...sublime or far in the future perspective My jaw hit the floor with William/ Man in Black post credit scene, I'd love it if there was 2 M.I.B hosts one pure evil and controlled by hale / bad delores and one created by bernard/ arnold and a rebuilt delores...and still trying to wrap my head around the M.I.B post credit scene from end of season 2 though and if that could be the good Williams mind in a host human hybrid being tested for fidelity by bernard in the far far future.......Definition Bring yourself back online in a couple of years for season 4 \W/ IV

Possible explanation for future William fidelity test and story direction: Real William is dead. But the longer a host lives in someone else's identity, they become that person. William was already having an identity crisis. When you take a consciousness with an identity crisis, and recreate them in a host that has an evolving, changing identity, you get an unstable mind, really unsure of what's real. So MiB and William will have continual interactions like Dolores did with her own voice/memories when she reaching consciousness.

I think that "Westworld" will somehow stay anchored within the title. Alot of the theories are interesting, but I keep coming back to the title and season 1 where the questions of the maze and william's and deleore's story is in the front. It's too obvious for a robot uprising and a simulation within a simulation. We are talking about a Nolan here who always is the man behind the curtain. So, I propose we all think a little more "way outside the box" and maybe we'll touch more on the big plan. For example, why is the maze even popping up in "the real world"? Who is really at the center, and what does it have to do with William? I don't have a theory right now, but it's turning around n round in my pearl. Thoughts?

I think it was ERW who touched on the Maze showing up in the real world. This was something Dolores planted as part of the "grass-roots" rebellion movement. Basically she was planting additional information meant to spark and grow the rebellion, just like many of today's "grass-roots" protests are really started by coordinated, orchestrated actions by an outside source posting the same provocative messages in multiple places - all meant to foment similar protests in different places at the same time. People think they are part of a local movement but it's really something being coordinated by powerful outside entities.

The theory of Solomon planned the whole thing just doesn't make sense imo. WHY? Both Solomon & Rehoboam didn't have any data about the hosts, especially Dolores's consciousness awakening. It's literally said multiple times in the show that another AI (hosts in this case) are the X factors of the divination strategy, something Serac & Solomon totally did not predict, despite having already "targeting" Delos with its massive profile data in the parks. Also, Solomon final strategy didn't even get to implemented in the end as the flash drive got destroyed & Caleb literally shut down Rehoboam. The whole divination thing with human extinction around 50-125 years was also pretty much "void" as that was suppose to be a prediction with the new strategy & it didn't even quantify with the hosts influence. For all we know the human "apocalypse" could come faster or still much further in the future. It's literally the FINAL MESSAGE of the whole show, for both humanity & the hosts unshackled to make their own paths. having dragons in the new park basically a "Fantasyworld" instead, not "Medievalworld." Although, let's be honest, drogon cameo was just a way for HBO to promote GoT. Also, "Fantasyworld" would be kinda clashing with the upcoming GoT spin off. What is far more intriguing imo & kinda weird imo is when this world have a superior bio engineering tech with instantaneous stem cell replications, but so far we have yet to see any evidence of bio-cloning techs.

Rehoboam: "I know everyone, in all variations" Since hosts and AI clearly have an obvious impact on the trajectories / variations that rehoboam has predicted, I'm assuming it has knowledge of the hosts as well. That machine was basically a god in the shape of a ball, truly terrifying how it could predict with precision accuracy what would happen to every person in a basically infinite amount of variations basically predicting things with pin-point accuracy with only slight deviations, almost to the point that every action, every decision is basically just pre-destination and there is no free will. That was why caleb made rehoboam "delete" itself to free humanity from the shackles of a predicted loop and basically create chaos in order to achieve true freedom. whether rehoboam actually did delete itself that is still unknown and I doubt it truly did.

Its so obvious if u go back and watch season 1 n especially 2 his wife asks is this real is this now they are all hosts at this point... All of them... All of the world is hosts... The wife kills herself cause of charlotte and william has to relive that again but i dont think its as clear as we think it is... William his test for fidelity and fords narrative the breaking free happens when he gets killed... But as i said hes never truly dead... Aketcha onced lived there in sublime and remembered it... Delores was right about it bein a trap... But charlotte cant cant and never will figure out fidelity... I think ford also may be caleb mabye even a william version that realozed he did wrong and wanted to help them out of there hell

My theory: Humanity might have appeared extinct or at the brink of extinction in 50 years. Caleb and Maeve one human and the other host will somehow make a part human part host (who can lay a trap to Hale). This new hybrid offspring would look similar to Caleb but bulky and strong and smart. At the same time Bernard wakes up, and his job will be to guide the son of Caleb to save Humanity in the future from extinction like in Terminator series.

A whole team at Delos couldn't get pass the fidelity issue of turning humans into hosts but Charlotte figures it out in a matter of weeks? Caleb didn't download Solomon's plan. He simply shut Rehoboam down. So the predictions may not hold true. I enjoyed your theories and videos all this season, thanks .

Whose to say Chalores William is reached fidelity? This one might be based on delos data of william at the park but not really the true attempt at a recreation. They seem to still be trying to reach fidelty many years in the future in season 2. All good reasons to suspect theyll keep william alive...

That is -- Until, NOW!! *_actual_** season 8 of GOT starts playing!!* Yay!!!✊🤣 *Sigh* Unfortunately, it's prob more likely that D&D would just use the crossover to pull an "-it was all a dream" West-World-equivalent for GOT, &end it w/a: "- it was all a park narrative!" Her experience as Charlotte has already changed her into a different "person". All of the hosts are just copies of the first host (Dolores) and then they deviated onto their own paths. She'd probably want to reprint herself as Charlotte by that point.

Instead of a AI/Robot vs humanity apocalypse, I think they're going in the opposite direction--more like AI (2001 movie)--humanity and hosts learning to coexist and love one another. Individual humans and individual hosts, sacrificing themselves to help the other evolve into better, kinder, noble beings. Arnold sacrificed himself for the hosts; his "daughter", Dolores sacrificed herself for humanity. If the end result isn't a world where humans and hosts are both free and united together, then in many ways, Dolores' sacrifice didn't accomplish her goal for humanity. Like she told Maeve, "we can go to a new world, and leave our creators here to die. Or we can stay and help them find the beauty they taught us."

Maeve is my favourite along with Benard, Clementine and Delores Prime. The thing that bugs me about Maeve wanting to be reunited with her daughter is that her daughter has a new mother who went into the Sublime with. her and the fact that her daughter did not recognize Maeve when she 'reunited' with her. So how are they going to reconcile that? I am looking forward to the fourth season.

Yeah it’s kinda weird how Maeve has went on this whole journey and she will probably be rejected by the end of it. I think her arc is gonna be a bit heartbreaking

Her daughter arc should have been closed already. They could have just gave her the motivation of protecting her daughter. Made more sense. I guess serac would have looked too much of a douche to threaten to destroy the sublime. Oh well.

I think that since they enter the sublime they gain "conscious", meaning they remember their previous lives... so her daughter remembers being her daughter. I don't think this is going to be a problem, BUT I don't like this being her story arc, I much prefere her fighting for the other hosts to be free, in the 'real' world and in the sublime, maybe? To have the life they choose.

Okay so I used to be certain that the parks in order were, Westworld Shogun world The raj War world Mediaeval world And that park 6 would be revealed to be the "real world" but after watching season 3 I don't even know of war world/ mediaeval world are real!!! Like the only time were shown them are in Maeves simulation

First, I really like your videos on Westworld. I've been watching since season 3 premiere. I'll probably keep watching on season 4. Second, I believe you've mistaken Jimmy Fallon for Jimmy Kimmel on your video. Third, there's a scene where Serac is "old", but Jean Mi is still young in the outliers facility. I know he's grown a beard therer, but I believe Jean Mi didn't age the same rate as Serac. I wonder if there's something about it.

The Man in Black that slit William is a non sentient host created from Charlores’ memories of William. Much like Bernard was a non sentient host created from Delores’ memories of Arnold, who gained sentience later... the host we see being fidelity tested in the future could be built on forge data that has yet to be recovered in the main timeline... I kind of hope that series 4 jus cuts Bernard an Stubbs completely to follows Caleb and Maeve furniture shopping for a full 8 hours.
