Technique I used wet in wet, dropping in small droplets of clear water when I wanted to soften and blend edges of color, the washy wet on wet look is perfect for a whale under water! And my faborite Milena MAB paints

Wonderful, It took me a few tries to get my brush set designed so I could get that fine point as well as a thicker brushstroke, all with one brush! ., I designed it after one of my favorite Princeton brushes the 8 long round. I've been awaiting for this one lol! Yay! Looks like you had a whale of a time ~ I remember you painting lines on the bottom of the whale~ did you? Lol! My goodness that is warm. We have had a few of those days here too. From COLD to crazy heat. Gardening is as enjoyable for me as painting friend. I hope you have some free time to play and paint. Thank you, second cold in the last couple months. Little ones around do that! I tell my girls you have to be young to raise little ones lol.

Omgosh this was SO fun to paint! I just realized I forgot to add the white gouache. I was too excited to get to the MAB mirror series. 😂 This is my favorite thing I’ve painted in quite awhile! Thanks for such a great tutorial and I even was able to draw this one myself. 😅😜

I do really like mermaids, fairys and some of the other fantasy realm thing's. Have you tried the watercolor glitter paper yet? I got mine from Amazon yesterday, but I've only had time to get my drawing on it. I'm going to get it painted today. So excited to try it. Hi Marvin great question, and I will offer what I have come across and noticed for ME personally. I predominantly u se the MeiLiangs. I feel the MeiLiangs are an excellent "student Grade" pigment, price point is very accessible for beginners. They do use more fillers than Paul Rubens 5th generation professional grade. Ive read a lot around the vibrancy although in my experience the MeiLiangs are AS vibrant as the Paul Rubens hands down. I will say the Paul Rubens is going to offer more "single pigments" meaning that if you mix your colors, single pigments are always the best way to go (if thats your thing) to achieve the purest colors. I dont often mix my colors, I can be somewhat a lazy daily painter and the MeiLiang palette has so many beautiful colors in their palette. Lastly (simplifying here) if you are painting professionally or creating gifts you want to last a lifetime, Paul Rubens has a higher lightfastness rating meaning the colors will not fade possibly as quickly as the MeiLiangs might. Overall I have tried SO MANY various student grade paints, and painted with Winsor Newton since college for my professional artwork, and MeiLiang I feel confident to recommend and do. I hope that helps. If you are painting professional pieces I would use a professional paint. For daily painting, the MeiLiang are fantastic, and I frame behind UV protected glass and have had no fade issues but it has not been years so I cannot reply to how long they last. Happy painting friend, and great question. BTW, I use the tubes to refill my palettes. I do not paint direction from the tubes as I tend to waste a lot more paint. Have fun!
