I watched this entire show as it aired, and these guys got the biggest ovation of the night. Everyone else was coming out and doing Elvis songs and putting twists and turns on them. These guys came out and did a faithful rendition of the song and absolutely nailed it.
I was fortunate to have been there at this tribute. They were absolutely amazing and absolutely stole the show that night! Longest standing ovation ever.
I have watched this every single night ever since I discovered it 6 months ago. Marti does the King proud! I get goosebumps each time when he hits that note and the audience's reaction at the end is so well deserved. Too bad my country never embraced them.
Marti Pellow of today has the biggest smile ever. Sometimes he looks as if he is so happy to be alive and where he is, as if he can't believe it, but he's in on the big joke. You can see the awful drugs in his eyes in this performance, but now he's as clear as a bell. Marti and the boys from Clydebank have come a long way from a bleak, unpromising future, to still the best sound around. Even as a very senior lady, I still love the boys of Wet,Wet Wet.
@@lynndrowns4391 Marti really had a problem - heroin addiction - but got himself clean and sorted. I'm from just up the road from Clydebank and my sister knew them, when they were just starting out, and we never heard about addiction problems with the rest of the guys.
Marti is 56 years old: only 56. Hes very young. Today 50->60 years is the maturity of an man, the perfection of his masculinity. I love Marti from 1989. And i am MAN as Marti. I would like to stay with HIM forever. No hard sex, but tendress and hugs and very passionate kisses. Marti Pellow is an amazing singer and songwriter and a MAN born to be loved with the most pure passion.
I've heard others attempt to sing this song, which has always been my personal favorite. Only 2 have done it justice. This guy and Chris Izzack. This was made into an almost rocking version, but the voice always must carry the song. I enjoyed this.
This Guy is Marti Pellow formally of the band Wet Wet Wet who were the only British artists invited to play at this concert. Yes, his voice is the reason for the invitation.
Marti and the Wets also performed a beautiful version of my favourite Elvis song, In the Ghetto, on the UK's Comic Relief charity night (BBC) the next year.
Oh! My god what a beautiful voice and sang this beautiful song so thank you marti thank you and i was born raised in edinburgh not glasgow but hey oh! Wow! Wow nobody could hav repeated thatxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
