❤ this is what my beautiful sister Sharon used to listen to, I was 6 years younger and I used to say to her " Sha why are you listening to this when it makes you cry", she turned to me and said "you will understand when you get older, this is always been my sister's song's, I miss you so much xxxx xxxx xxxx
it is beyond painful. however, today's nonsense will not last even half a decade. We can always page back in time for these timeless classics which will last FOREVER.
The boomers say they had the best music in the 70's but it's not true, we had the best, we had all their music, plus the 80's, and our beloved 90's. Generation X is a generation made of steel!
This song never gets old and it will always be a timeless classic. I always love the 1980s and 1990s music. It's one of my favourite Wet Wet Wet songs of all time. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
I remember getting this album as a kid and thinking "This is gonna be shyte" then being totally mesmerized by every track:, lead vocals, harmonies, instruments, arrangements (especially the strings), THE MELODIES! The audio quality!!!! This of course is the edited version of Sweet Surrender but the full album version is out of this world. This was the Wets deepest most spiritual album lyrically. Their most cohesive work. Over 20 years later it's still on regular rotation on my Spotify 😊
The year 89 was incredible...so many hits at that year...i remember i was 15...and we have discovered Wet Wet Wet and... Marti Pellow...80's were really awesome...if you understand what i mean push like and comment :)
89 was a tough year for me but a pivotal one too so my memories of it are important to me. Some of the hits of early 89 were awfuul, but I think its safe to say it got better lol.
@Show them crazy. Yes thanks. 1989 wasn't a horrible year but I was 14 and going on to high school (secondary school as its called here in Ireland) so it was tough, but important. Even the hard memories I kinda cherish cause they're a part of me.
Totally agree . I turned 15 in September 1989. My memories are of a hot summer with my mates. Drinking cider at the old club. I still think about iy now
I was born ‘84 and from the time I heard wet wet wet on the radio at a very young age , my heart was stolen. I probably don’t understand the meaning of words before growing up in the Philippines but music has a power unexplainable. It transcends time, race, religion. I’m 40 now and wet wet wet is still one up there on the top for me! Thank you for your music and memories!
Well the big boys in the music business have it sown up with a certain formula and "formulaic" is the whole fucking problem. If they had any balls whatever they’d take a chance and go for it like they used to!
The 80's and 90's without a doubt, the best two decades of music. Marti pellow lived in rye for a time, had recording studio in Peasmarsh.. my sister asked for his autograph in jempsons, he was an absolute gentleman to her. Legend.
Как он профессионально поет! Его инструмент совершенен! +открытое, веселое, доброжелательное лицо,! отличное знание каждой ноты!я восхищаюсь вами!!! Мне так же нравится как вы пританцовываете! Пусть вы будете вечно молоды!
I was soooo in love with this man 💗😍 omg why can't we have music with meaning like this that you can relate to anymore I'm sick of the crap we have today.
Hated Marty Pellow, because he was better lookin than me 🙄😂only jokin Great lookin guy velvet voice 👌up there with the likes of Elvis. His podcasts are great hes also got a great sence of humour, the guy has it all no wonder you gals love him!!!❤
What a brilliant track. I remember when it came out in 1989, I was 20! I'm stunned here wondering where the last 30 years went, but when I hear this I want to laugh and cry with joy at the same time. Only for music I'd be long gone.
I was reaching a point in my life where everything was changing. This music and Marti gave me a reason to keep going. He was so gorgeous, he still is, I am still on this planet too. This music will never fade away!
35 years ago this week this wonderful masterpiece from Martie and the Wet's from their second studio album Holdback the River which came out that Christmas 1989 a great album and the next realise Broke Away was another lovely love song too witch came out in December 1989 always loved Marties voice 😌💙🫶
if it was in scotland, it tells u everything, he never got out of clydebank. In his heart and mind. Held him back. Its the cancer of every scot or welsh world class singer. They never let go. And the world crucifies them.
Still remember being Mindblown at 6 seeing the video after hearing it on the radio. I was expecting some black dude from an R& B Group!!! Love his voice and style
Hey little fella, get your show together I was listening in before But now I don't care no more Look around now It's always that it's gonna get you down It's only begun One look is all it took I remember that sweet surrender I recall, do you That sweet surrender My determination Came creeping across the nation A sure mistake for anyone 'cause you can't take home everyone 'cause it's only just begun One look is all it took I remember that sweet surrender I recall, do you That sweet surrender I don't know, I don't care 'cause I'm living without you baby Even when I know what's going on It only took, one look, one glance To set my heart for romance Do you believe my sweet surrender My sweet surrender Hey little fella, now your show's together I never wanted you to listen before So why should I walk out that door Stick around now And so the story goes on through the night It's only begun One look is all it took I remember that sweet surrender Do you recall, 'cause I do That sweet surrender I don't know, I don't care 'cause I'm living without you baby Even when I know what's going on It only takes, one look, one glance To set my heart for romance One look is all it took My sweet surrender My sweet surrender One look is all it took to remember (I don't know and I don't care)
The deejay at my wedding was getting impatient to start so he put this song on to get us to pack those tables up at the village hall 😂 oh the memories 😂
Me and my husband played this at our wedding on 21st July 2017 as we was in the chapel in Blackpool and I cried all the way though the song because the words were true for us we both love this song Gina
Wet wet wet were awesome and way ahead of their time. Marti pellow was a classic 80s lead singer. Charisma, magnificent voice and not a bad looking guy to boot. I saw them live in sun city in the 90s. They were brilliant and Marti pellow was so effervescent on stage
One of the most underrated songs ever, it's only got 3 odd million hits since 2013. What a beautiful song, I don't think anyone can sing it as well as Marti. It used to be played a lot on the radio when I was young, how I would like to go back to that era now😯
Came in here to look for this music video.....teenage years, it’s been a long long time..oh boy good memories flowing in, really miss 80s & 90s , great music, best time of my life...they don’t do music like these anymore.
