This is one of the first places i ever went off-roading when i was a kid. I've spent more time down here than most places but we still get a little lost sometimes. The desert is such a beautiful and desolate place, but if you look close it's got so much life in it.
When i was 17 I tested out of highschool and spent a summer building a 1974 baja bug i bought from my folks. That thing was an absolute pile! Got a cage and some bumpers for it from a wrecked baja bug and some cheap Bilsteins and just sent it. Spent so much time around ocotillo, anza borrego, fish creek, diablo dropoff, heart attack hill, the squeeze etc. We used to do a trip from the 8 freeway up through this area to ocotillo wells and then north to the salton sea all on dirt. That bug taught me a lot of things about welding, building off-road vehicles, and struggling through adversity. It wasnt quite as bad as the truck i had after it that burned almost 2 gallons of oil in 1 weekend trying to make it home, but it definitely wasnt awesome...
This is only the second full video we've really tried editing with real footage so i hope you guys stay patient with us! We're getting better at it day by day and hope you stick around for all our crazy builds coming up and some awesome trips.
