I have this set up, haven’t run it yet just got it yesterday. Live near the supplier for these mounts and gears. Lucky me! Wow, thought the gearing may be slow, I was wrong! Stop hitting rocks lol! I may try 30 25 for a little mor top end. Running direct gearing burns batteries fast. But fun!
Hobby wing or castle what kv for good torque and power I hear castle has better support but also I heard they sold out will it be the same idk I've also heard hobbywing has horrible customer service but also been recommended hobby wing ESC more than most what should I do I'm buying a new xmaxx I heard the stock 8s esc blows quick so I'm looking to sell the new parts for a bargain to someone and upgrade it what would you recommend I bash hard but not as hard as you I love speed and wheelies on demand I want a ESC and motor that will least a long time with proper care which I still have a t Maxx .15pro that works so I do take care of my stuff lol
Dear, one question : is necessary WFO motor mount for install 5687 HobbyWing motor or is possible to install with original motor mount? Thank you very much
Very nice, very beefy upgrade there! Looks you wont have to worry about the mount and gears unless you drop that rig out of a plane!! Haha! Great bashing and video as well!! Look forward to more from ya!
NICE VIDEO! I’m planning to buy this exact same kit from WFO but as I’m living in Canada, I do lots of snow bashing. I’m wondering if the wide open unprotected new gears will be OK in wet conditions. If so, would you put any grease? Thanks!
The gears will rust, spray the system down with wd40 including plastics to keep them bendable and less brittle, Jim mine 30 feet plus and no breakages. Really helps, I stay away Friday m electrons with the spray though.
I have the same combo gears, with leopard 58113 870kv motor & leopard BL5 esc after 10min of run it destroyed my Fastlanerc bulletproof rear differential, good thing it has 1 year warranty🙂
Wait what you have a 870kv 58113 motor didn't know those existed, what are they rated at ? I have the 1050kv 58113 with hobbywing max 5 running 30spur and 25 pinion. It is so fast like really really fast. I have never done a full trigger throttle to this date I've owned for three months it just becomes scary when you're three quarter throttle. I'm running the castle 2028 fan but my motor and esc gets extremely hot can't put my finger for long on the motor and the esc. But have never gone in thermal shit down. I don't know what I need to do. Tbh. Also regarding your diffs I was constantly breaking the diffs before went through 4 rear diffs. Untill one person told me to leave the esc on punch level 1 and haven't broken any diffs since touch wood. What fans do you use and what gearing are you using, did it ran cool when it ran before diffs issues. cheers mate
@@ExocagedRC oh sorry was referring to the guy above who said they had a Leopard 58113 motor same as mine it's more powerful than the 800kv motor from hobbywing
Nash yes that’s the motor I have and it’s has lots of power Model: New LP56113-V2 .KV: 870KV .Voltage Max.: 11S LiPo .Max. Amps: 190A .Max. Power: 8000W .Size (D*L): 58mm*113mm .Shaft diameter: 8mm .Mounting hole depth: 7mm .Weight: 1295g
I just installed my wfo gears and there is a lot of runout on the spur gear almost like it’s warped. I tried adjusting it with the grub screws but nothing seems to help. The shaft seems nice and true. Did yours do that? Should I worry? It walks maybe 1-1.5 mm and is really noisy (not a steady noise like yours).
Exocaged RC it’s not in and out it’s more like it’s warped or on at an angle almost like the bore size is too big and the grub screw is lifting it off the shaft making the gear sit at an angle.
Re alight the mount to chassis, also inspect the motor shaft for bending. Seems unlickly but I’ve bent shafts with extreme sacrilegious beatings. Pull safr and spin slowly on a drill.
With the way this motor mount works seems like it would be easy to get the motor crooked. I just purchased one to go with my soon to have castle system. Is it an easy install?
Theses mounts can be install crooked, you have to be careful it when it right it’s way better then stock, I never use the pins even with stock set up, get perfect meshing that’s way. Never had a problem
No I can see he’s not, I haven’t tried it, I’m building mine for standing backflips. I will have a lot of videos on my channel if you check it out in the next few weeks.
Tim Manning I did a servo swap a while back on it. Hitec 5765 is what I used. I made a video but there was a LOT of cutting and risk involved. If you want to see that video send me an email at exocagedrc@yahoo.com
Is the link you provided for wforcracing.com the correct link? It takes you to www.dirtcheap-rc.com. They only seem to sell 3 and 4S Arrma stuff, no Traxxas.
jr3wing77 hmm that’s odd. I haven’t heard about any new management going on there. If you’re on Facebook click that link and see if they can help you out. If not maybe Sean Larmond can get you what you need.
Ok they are working on the website right now. On their Facebook they explain it, go there and send a message to Brian Caudill he is WFO. tell him Exocaged sent you.
Exocaged RC I don’t have a Facebook that’s why I was trying to get the website I guess I will have to wait until the site is back up for work that’s the only way I can order parts but I would be sure to let them know that you sent me your video was very informative thanks a lot
WFO gear company is pathetic. Small company in Washington state. They don’t respond to emails period. No phone number to call them. Spend your money somewhere else. Last 14 months completely out of stock for their gears. Their steel manufacturer shut them down
@@ExocagedRC nope not me, getting on a 3 month waiting list … lol … nope. Cant wait till there’s more players in the market! A real money maker is in these mod 1.5 gears for 8mm shafts. There’s several manufactures (big names) taking notice. Stay tuned! We’ll have some good healthy competition soon.
