WGU Data Analytics Degree: How To Graduate In 6 Months

Is there any new spreadsheet for the new degree program? Even the google drive for WGU does not have any updated info.

How many credits did you transfer in for the BA and how much time/day were you studying? I'm fortunate enough to have enough money saved to take a year off of work and am considering finishing my bachelor's, although I think I'll only be able to transfer about 40 credits

Degree isn't to learn, it's to get a job. You can just learn that on your own, you can even take university courses on coursera. Most programmers (even with degree) are self taught

@@mpforeverunlimited is a bachelors in business data analytics worth it ( the program has machine learning business finance and a programming course aswell )or is something general like Econ or Computers better ? I wanna do a masters afterwards most probably in Computer science or IT

@@mpforeverunlimited I get it though WGUs model is to not only get you the degree but give you industry relevant certs to help get the job. The A+ and Net+ are industry relevant...just not for Data Analysis

@@aena5995 it depends...if you already have a BS Degree then it may be better to just go to coursera and get a ML pro certificate for business

Honestly, I am in the same boat. I also went to school for political science and now find myself upset with my lack of foresight. I’ve had many challenges since then, and ultimately came to the decision, that if I wanted to earn more, I would need to further my education in a higher-paying field. Since I made the wrong choice before, I am extremely scared and worried that I might be doing the same thing this time around and will be wasting money yet again. However, when I have those thoughts, I remind myself that it is simply self doubt, distrust of myself (due to making the wrong choice in the past), and the fear of the unknown. You’ve been resilient enough to persevere through all the challenges that you faced thus far, and you are clearly capable given your educational background-so I don’t think there’s any way that you don’t succeed in this path. It might be challenging initially, but the field is not shrinking because of AI and technological advances, it’s instead expanding and we can learn to use these systems to our advantage. If this field is something you’re truly interested in, give yourself another shot and give it your all with the driving thought that you will and must succeed. Network with others in the field, create a strong portfolio, review work of other data analysts, etc. believe in yourself and invest in your future. You either invest in your future now for the next couple of years or the next couple years inevitably go by any way and you’re still at a crossroads. You’ll be happy in a few years when you’re making even more money and can easily pay off any debt as well as support yourself and family comfortably. We always automatically think about what if things don’t work out… but what if things did?

there are jobs in the field, but it's not going to be easy, specially right now. get in contact with some technical recruiters in your area, tell them what you are studying and ask them what the job prospects are. where i'm at it can take up to 6 months to land a position

I have the same plan for a BS in Accounting and Masters in Data Analytics.

Why not stick with just data analytics

Gen Ed classes. Like it or not that’s how the American education system is.

It’s a basic core class in Texas we have like 12 core classes that every student has to take and political science one and two or government one and two is a part of the curriculum

Yeah, they're full bachelors degrees. They fulfill any job requirement for a bachelors. You get a diploma to hang on the wall, too, and there's graduation ceremonies around the country to walk across stage with your little square hat lol

You can do a computer science bachelor and get your masters in data.

All the degrees are legit. It may seem too good to be true because of how fast it is but it’s legit. Online education is very fast and the standard education system is broken and made to prolong so they can continue to make money off your tuition. If everyone passed classes fast, then the teachers wouldn’t get paid. By doing this, you can knock it out faster

I was told by their staff that Accounting is one of the toughest programs they offer, and they strongly dissuaded me from attempting it casually despite meeting all the requirements and more. To this day, I am thankful for it.

He probably has it experience before starting.
