So I use gallons and Miles. I get 49-50 mpg with Straight Gas, no ethanol. 6.1 gallon tank. So lets say my range is 300 miles. At 190 miles I am on that lowest bar on the gauge. I have 2 gallons ( 100 miles ) left. Running your bike out of fuel is horrible for your fuel pump. So When i'm on the lowest bar, I know I need to get gas within 50 miles. I am used to going by my trip odometer already.
What petrol are you using? Might have another issue. That is 6.39litres per 100km. That is really bad fuel economy and not normal or factory. I am always between 4.1 to 4.6litres. Always crack 400km when the last bar starts flashing. When I get that flashing light on the last bar I have around 5.2litres left in the tank. I am in country NSW. Are you carrying extra weight or riding seriously fast on highway speeds? Something doesn't seem right with those numbers on your bike.
Hi mate, all good questions. I have missed my bike a bit which could account for it. I don’t feel like I ride hard but could be riding harder than others. Re what fuel I’m using - I always aim for the middle - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. As for excessive weight…. I do enjoy a good meat pie, but at the end of the day am 183cm and 95kg….
@@adventurebikesaustralia7627 I run 95 mostly on mine. Never e10. With the different exhaust you should get better mileage. I run a Yoshi on mine, with yss suspension upgrade front and rear which makes it a lighter Gen3. But even riding hard with luggage still get good mileage. Think you might have other issues. Did you remove the o2 sensor? Just thinking of what is making your bike run so thirsty. Have any issues with the fuel pump? 44 miles per gallon is your economy rate, which is worse than the Americans get thrashing thier bikes at speed and luggage overloaded. Might need to take your bike to Kawasaki as that mileage is not even close to the factory specifications.
