I like the idea of the faux rusting… not sure how I feel about adding in actual rusted items into journals for health and safety reasons but either way they are all beautiful.

Always fun to play with new techniques, I did luck out and was able to get a whales table punch at a very reasonable price, but I have also made the smaller ones from scratch I cut my circle then used my hand punch the we all have from schooldays and then trimmed to shape which worked our nice too. I love your ideas to age tape and will now be making some of that. The rusting i have tried with the vinegar method and it worked ok but this is definitely an easier method and quick to, TFS these ideas I love the fabic what kind of fabric di you use. I think the would make great snippets cluster etc

Those sheer paper tapes could run easily through that smallest Xyron adhesive runner, or you could run larger pieces through a larger Xyron and cut them down. Wow, the rusted fabric is phenomenal. So, you put your batches on the fabric AFTER letting them soak for however long you decided? Sprayed the fabric down with the rusting solution, placed the items on to dry and then soaked the fabric and metal bits with the remaining solution, then allowed to dry? It's a very cool treatment for paper as well. This is a great video, thanks :) Oh, and as an afterthought, I wonder if spraying the metal items with a workable fixative or matte finishing spray might help control the rust speckles that might not be desirable when used in journals.
