Whale Trail Day 4: Hamerkop to Vaalkrans - Some squalls on a flat but tough day along the shoreline 

Hi all
Day 4 of the whale trail took us along the beach from Hamerkop hut to Vaalkrans. The day's hike was 10.5km with about half on the beach sand, which proved to be slower tough going for weary legs. The rocks along the shore provided one new bird to add to my list - a ruddy turnstone.
The second half was more up and down on the cliff edge but thankfully not many very long climbs. We took lunch and a welcomed rest at the blow holes before soldiering on to the hut at Vaalkrans which is situated on a cliff edge with the waves breaking below. The Vaalkrans hut itself is the second best hut on the trail for me and the beatiful sunset capped off a good hike and the last night on the trail!
