Thank you! ☺️ I have found my home here in Washington, and this feeling is influenced by various factors. One of the main reasons is the proximity to nature. In France, it is often very crowded with small streets, which is understandable considering its geographical location and the need to accommodate a large population in a limited space. France is undeniably beautiful with its unique history, museums, castles, and landscapes, but accessing nature there is not as easy as it is here in Washington. I do love France in my own way, and there are aspects I miss, such as the delicious and affordable food, the ubiquitous boulangeries on every corner, and the culture of walking and cycling instead of relying on cars for regular transportation. However, what I truly missed was the solitude in nature, waking up to the sound of birds singing outside my window instead of cars and constantly bustling neighbors. Here in Washington, I have embraced a slower pace of living, and I am grateful for the warm and welcoming community of like-minded individuals I have met. There are wonderful places to explore, such as Christiansons Nursery and the charming antique stores and barn markets in Snohomish. The picturesque sunrises I have witnessed here are unparalleled, and Mount Rainier holds a special place in my heart. Comparing my love for France and my newfound home in Washington is akin to comparing two beloved children. It is a challenging task, as both places hold a special place in my heart. Reading one person’s experience and then another’s of finding home in a faraway place is thought-provoking, particularly because I find myself in limbo. I moved to Skagit Valley to marry my husband, and we spent the first decade of our marriage there. I felt blessed that such a beautiful place was the location of my “happily ever after.” A couple years ago, we moved across the country, and while it has been an adventure, Washington still feels like home. I’ve been very nostalgic lately, and your videos have been like a visit back there. @@LittleWomenAtelier Oh with pleasure, it is Laki Tours in Grundarfjordur in West Iceland ☺️ I dont work for them yet but I am a volunteer for Orca Guardians Iceland and a friend of the crew 🙂 It is a very dedicated and passionate crew, respectful of the wildlife, so no feeding or swimming with the whales, no invasive identification methods... The most sighted species are orcas, humpbacks, sperm whales, white beaked dolphins, Minke whales and pilot whales, depending on the time of the year. Let me know if you go there one day ☺️ The town of Grundarfjordur is located near Kirkjufell mountain, famous for appearing in Game of Thrones!
aww whale watching is such fun. Our family went dolphin and whale watching in 2018 here in New Jersey, and it was so fun!!! Definitely an experience to remember as a family. I am glad you were able to enjoy it. It is great having dreams that can come true. I love love love love lakes and spend my summers usually going to a few. I have never paddle boarded before. how is it? Looks so fun!
