Whale Watching Tour in Victoria, BC & 7 Whale Watching Tips

We went whale watching in Victoria, BC and had an incredible time. We encountered at least 4 humpback whales that got up close to our boat - so close we could have reached out to touch them! (but we didn't).
We went with Eagle Wing Tours and would 10/10 recommend them if you are in the area. The crew was amazing, they took care of some passengers who got seasick (my husband included), and really made the experience so much better with their knowledge and stories.

Have you ever seen whales up close like this in the wild? We had an incredible time whale watching and getting lunch at Fisherman's Wharf - such a great experience 😊

I WHALEY love whales 🐳! What amazing amazing experience to have and be able to share! They were amazing and huge! What gentle giants! The boat looked pretty cool too! Nothing live some donuts and fish and chips to finish off a day like that!

Oh my goodness, what a spectacular tour! Way more successful than our whale watching tour in Iceland hahaha. So amazing that you got to get so close to them! 😍 They are so incredible

Wow this was truly an experience of a lifetime, I have been whale watching and only caught one breaching in the distance. The smothering is also a good tip lol loving your videos!

This seems to be lot of fun. Watching huge whales and sea lions, haven't been on whale watching tour yet. The lunch at Fisherman's wharf and the tips of whale watching were great. Another nice one.

Whoa there is so much whale action 😍 your experience was amazing! I can't believe how close they were to the boat...and for soo long 😊 I approve of dessert before lunch 🍩 😆 As far as the sauce question..it depends on what I am eating...I can be all three at times. Oh noo Alan 😟 I hope the seasickness passed quickly!

I am about to go on my first whale watching tour this weekend. I am trying to learn all I can before I go. I also dip my food and sauce but I think I should try spreading it. Never thought of that 😅

Fisherman's Wharf is very fun, and we really enjoyed exploring around downtown Victoria and even going outside to Sooke, BC for the potholes and some of the beaches.

Thanks very much! We chose this boat because it had washrooms on board. The open dingy style boats don't and you're gone for a few hours. So that was why we chose this kind of boat with indoor and outdoor seating.

Hi what month did you do this? We have one booked for the very beginning of June and are hearing there isn’t much activity. We awe doing it bay of Fundy.

People don't realize whale watching is actually very high risk activity with great chance not to see any whales. The claim of 95% success rate is absolute misinformation. You need to make your own decision if you are willing to risk hundreds buck. But I have to admit it is an amazing experience if you do see whales.

Yes there is no guarantee at all. Even a slight glimpse of a whale in the far distance would "count" as a success. This experience was once in a lifetime - definitely not a usual thing.
