Whaly 500R Crabbing - HUGE Red Rock Crab in Puget Sound

Took the Whaly out in mid-December to catch the last part of the winter crabbing season in the Puget Sound marine area. Had a nice day out in the water, and ended up catching a couple giant red rock crabs around the Lynnwood-Everett area. I was able to test out the bow hatch feature of the boat and found it to be quite useful for many applications like launching from the beach and retrieving crab pots. Looking forward to utilizing it next summer!

A somewhat interesting boat. But very expensive for being a boat built with recyclabe plastics. In addition, with very little confort, since the seats where passagers sit are made of plastic. Happens that after some time of navigation they will get body aches. My opinion

They remove the docks at Mukilteo in the Winter and reinstall it in the spring time.

Thanks! I have a 20hp on it temporarily (outboards are currently pretty hard to come by...), underpowered, but enough to get around.

How does the boat do in rougher water, if you’ve used it in those conditions.

I haven't taken it out in rough water yet. I would expect a wetter ride due to the hull shape, I'll provide updates in a future video if I ever do take it out in rougher conditions.

I have a 500 R that I take out fishing in the Pacific ocean with a 60 hp motor, rails, arch, bimini, anchor, console, fishing gear and 2-3 fishermen. for the most part the boat is dry . If your going fast in really choppy seas you may get an occasional spray over the gunnel. Boat handles really well. Renaldo mountaingem6@gmail. com Y

you can just drop the boat from 200 feet and nothing would happen. the boat is indestructable..... but you motor, equitments, and you not sure !!! lol
