All the meals looked amazing as usual! For anyone curious the Panda Express Teriyaki is identical to the one they serve in the restaurant. It is very good as a dipping sauce. I buy the same bottle and my 4 year old loves to dip his grilled chicken in it. I think for the skirt steak its best to use a Terayaki Marinade. Like the one from Kikkoman.
Loving the videos. Here in Australia a Caesar salad is made with cos lettuce, Parmesan cheese, boiled eggs, bacon, Caesar dressing with anchovies and croutons optional. Often served with chicken or smoked salmon.
I love lasagna roll ups because regular lasagna is too cheesy for me with all the thick layers. With the roll ups, one thin layer of ricotta rolled up is the perfect amount for me!
Cut your skirt steak at more of angle, starting at the thin end next time and cut it into very thin slices, almost shaved. Should turn out a lot better. Also, adding an acid into your marinade helps to tenderize the meat (rice vinegar or lime juice are good for Asian dishes) 😊
Have you ever tried frozen corn over canned corn? I buy the bags you're meant to steam in the microwave for $1 and just cut them open. I find the flavor to be WAY closer to fresh corn and a lot better than the canned stuff. (You should add it later in the cooking process though if you use it. Doesn't need to be in there for a long time) Edit: Also (in my area at least) you can get pepperoni sliced at the deli counter at Walmart and it's actually quite a bit cheaper by weight than the prepackaged slices and it's soooooooo good. Only thing is that they're pretty large (probably like 3-4" circles) but I just stack them up and cut them into quarters so they're about the same size as the little ones.
Good tip on the pepperoni. I also use frozen corn instead of canned. I didn’t realize adding it later in the cooking process was better. For soup, I just stick it in frozen regardless of whether it’s on the stove or crockpot. For salads, I rinse the corn in warm water to thaw first. I will have to try adding the corn later during cooking.
I have been watching your videos for soo long! Hope all is well with your family and i hope your dad is doing well❤️ his food always look sooo good lol 🙌🏾
So the cauliflower salad. Use the same dressing, bacon, cauliflower but no lettuce. Instead add an equal amount of broccoli as cauliflower and add some shredded cheddar. So yummy and constantly requested. Also if you make it at least 4 hours ahead of serving, it makes it even better as all the flavours come together.
These all look so delicious! I can't wait to try these recipes! I think I'm actually going to try all of these except for the cauliflower one because we don't like cauliflower in our household. I always like how everything you make is easy to cook and it's all a good variety of foods with lots of yummy flavors!
I love your videos a lot. You give me great ideas for dinners. One thing I would recommend is placing your meat (beef, chicken or pork) in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm it up then slice it before you add the marinade. It's so much less mess that way and the marinade has a lot more surface area. You can do this as soon as you bring it home from the store. Slice it up, add whatever marinade you want then freeze it in zip lock bags. That way you can take it out the night before and put it in the fridge so when dinner time comes around you have the slicing and marinating done for you. Anyway, again, love your videos so much. I get so happy when I see you've posted. I'm going to make that soup this week.
I love your channel Kristen. I love how you talk while your videos plays. And all of your food looks so amazing. I appreciate your channel so much it has helped me so much figure out what to feed my family of six several times when I just have nothing in mind. Completely behind you making a cookbook.Much love girl!
You definitely have to add an acid into your skirt steak to tenderize it because it is a very tough piece of meat if not tenderized. Also, cutting it into SUPER thin strips helps also. It’s just that cut of meat that is so tough unless you put some time into getting it tenderized. Everything looked delicious! I am definitely going to try the Lasagna roll ups, my son loves lasagna & I love the twist your recipe has on it! I always make my own spaghetti sauce in a big batch & then freeze what I don’t use. Homemade is much better! I know a lot of people buy that Rao’s pasta sauce & that stuff is EXPENSIVE…if you look at the ingredients on that, you can make your own at minimal cost & have a huge batch for much less than one small jar! But I have my own recipe I’ve used for ages.
@@KristinStepp add a pinch of baking soda next time you marinate meat, it helps keep stir fry cuts like that tender. Also, if you already have soy sauce, add honey to make a sort of teriyaki sauce. honey is also a meat tenderizer.
Great tips, also Kristin, …cut the meat in small strips *before* you put it in the bag & pour the marinade over it. And for Asian the acid that is best to use is rice wine vinegar
I love Ken's steakhouse blue cheese dressing and I have had all of the top expensive brands and it still comes out on top! I also make my own blue cheese dressing which is better than anything in the bottle but I always keep Ken's in the refrigerator door. :-)
Kristen your meal ideas Always look Delicious!!😋😋 You explain things well and I appreciate All you do into Continually making Relatable Enjoyable content!!
Nice to see another great video, I’m English and like you I want quick tasty meals for family and you hit the spot! You converted me to using ranch dressing in all its forms! Now if I could get all you lovely Americans to pronounce Worcestershire sauce properly…….but hey it’s funny hearing you say it love your content ❤️❤️❤️❤️🏴
It all looks good. I love teriyaki chicken but never made it myself. Thought about it but haven't yet. We've got a Winter storm warning going on. We got 12 inches of snow and still calling for another 12 inches. I can't stand cold weather. Brrr!!
It's funny that you say your obsessed with challoula..... my oldest daughter found it by mistake about 10 years ago , someone dared her to take the baby bottle from Qudoba, so she did and has loved it beyond obsessed since, even had to send her some on her deployment last year to Kuwait!! " Mom they don't have the best hot sauce in the world I'm gonna die without it! " 🙄🙄😂😄😂😄😂 yes we sent it and she's doing great! , I love your videos, thank you for sharing!
For the fried rice, I’d add some minced garlic & minced ginger before the rice to add better flavor! Also, after the rice is starting to sizzle, add quite a bit of soy sauce (I use reduced sodium). What you used on the steak was teriyaki marinade and not the teriyaki style sauce that’s similar in consistency to soy sauce. I personally am not huge on teriyaki sauce on fried rice. But you could still marinade meat in teriyaki and add it to the fried rice and overall it would be less sweet!
I hope you did not throw out the liquid in that 1st recipe, that is beautiful homemade chicken stock that would save you a lot of money buying it from the store! And taste a whole lot better too !
I recommend trying that fried rice again, but with Chicken and P.F. Chang's Teriyaki sauce with just a touch of dark brown sugar. That sauce isn't very sweet and others agree that it is closer to homemade teriyaki sauce. I prefer it with a little bit of dark brown sugar, but you can add or omit to whatever you think you or your family would prefer. This is just my suggestion according to what my family likes.
Hey hun I just wanted you to know that I made the chicken enchilada soup and it was delicious I think next time when I take the chicken out im going to leave it out to let the soup simmer a little longer before I put the chicken back in Thank you for sharing your recipes and ideas love your channel ❤❤
Everything looks so good! For fried rice flavoring, I like to add garlic, ginger powder, a touch of sesame oil, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Try it! Much better than those panda bottled sauces. Also, start out making a few pieces of bacon, use some of the oil to flavor the rice/cook it in and crumble the bacon in with some green onion at the end. Bacon and egg fried rice is sooo good.
For our family of 3, I use the square foil pans instead of the 9x13 ones. I find there is less waste that way. Often I will cook enough for dinner that night plus one for the freezer.
The cauliflower dressing without the vinegar……..we use mayo & sugar for our layered salad dressing and it gets requested every time we have a church meal. I have found for every cup of mayo, 3TB of sugar is a good ration. Cannot wait to try it in this salad though. Everything looks yummy as usual!
With the skirt steak, if you marinate it in soy, brown sugar, pineapple juice and garlic for a teriyaki flavor and then cook it whole and cut it up after it rests a minute or so. That usually helps it be more tender. Also with the fried rice, if you don't have left over rice, but have an extra 20 minutes or so, you can spread the rice on a cookie sheet and pop it in the fridge to dry it out a little and give you that left over rice consistency.
Hey Kristin! Everything looked delicious! I want to try those chicken Ceasars sandwiches and the Cauliflower salad! And my daughter would love the pizza lasagna! I think I will add the pepperonis to the top. I may just do extra and have them inside the roll ups, AND on top. We love pepperoni! Lol🤣 and you totally need to be sponsored by Walmart! I enjoyed the video! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!🥰
You ever made the pasta where you add ceasar dressing ,olive garden dressing & cream cheese & chicken in the crockpot.then cook up penne noodles & parm cheese.
I'm not sure if you have a Max & Erma's near you, but you should try the Max & Erma's Copycat Chicken Tortilla soup! It's super creamy and delicious - kind of reminded me of the enchilada soup!
Try pineapple tidbits or slice larger cubes down and add it to your fried rice sometime. It is absolutely delicious especially with teriyaki rice but any fried rice will do! I have been doing that for years and you get a little pop of sweetness but not too sweet with all of the salty things that are in the fried rice. :-)
Kristin: game changer.. you have to try Rao’s sauces.. yes, they are pricey.. but I buy them when my Publix puts them on BOGO.. you can spread that on even crackers and you will love it.. I budget, but there are certain things I won’t do without and the difference in that sauce is unbelievable. Just buy one and try it and see what you think!
I am def making that soup 🤩 Next time you make fried rice, try to use sesame oil in stead of olive oil, trust me it makes such a big difference 👌 Just love your videos ❤
