Whats happend to Britstops? I have seen lots of people talking about Britstops being sold to an American company and losing a lot of what makes it so popular.
Are Britstops making a mistake by modernising in a way that appears not to align with its core community? Vanlifers, campervanners, motorhomers, self builders and everyone in between can find a great place through them, but as the technological world advances to the online space do we want to follow them there?
As a big fan of both Britstops, the ethos behind the idea, and the boost to small businesses and the local economy it provides it seems that this year may be my last year as a paying customer.
Do you feel the same? I am interested to know if you think this is progress or not?

I lay you down a challenge sir. Muh ha ha ha . You need to find a location that fits the following criteria... A its ability and access for a converted transit van to par up and stay..... B.....tourist/visitors points of interest there or close and hardest of all........ C ..... a local carp fishery you can book up and take on a dog ( well behaved of course ). I WOULD NOT USE AN APP sometimes you cant even get a signal. You can put post its in the book of fav bits to do taking it down to a concise item personal to you. That goes out the window with apps boring you to death even if your phone does take it anyway

I use a website called pitchup for searches like this. It’s worth a try for you if you don’t already use it.

I suppose at some point in the past Brit Stops was rather unique in that it provided information before the more wide spread use of the internet. Now I am not sure why you would want to subscribe as the information is out there for free. I get the bit about liking the idea of a book, I am the same, but its a bit old fashioned now. I suppose in the social media age Brit Stops could only survive if they had exclusive rights to the stopping places? I imagine you are in a minority of people who don't want access to the internet when you are away? The world changes, far too fast for some of us! Hopefully you can still find places you like to stop at and enjoy.

There are several apps offering the same thing now, and most of the locations aren’t specific to Britstops, so why pay is my point. I just liked the book, as did many others. But the world changes:)
