I’ve had the bag approximately 8 months. Water resistant, but I don’t think they advertise it as such. The quality of the material and stitching is VERY GOOD. I know people personally who have used this bag for multiple years. I’ve had a number of gear bags, from notch, Arbortec, and dmm. This is by far the best bag on the market on my opinion.
2 questions for you. Is the notch "death runner" the rope runner pro? And the petzl rig you have.... I'm undecided if I should get the Petzl Rig/ ID S or the Petzl ID L. I currently have a Petzl 12.5mm rope, and a Petzl 11.6mm rope. I would like to experiment with other ropes. Can I squeeze a 1/2" rope in the Rig/ID S? I would really hate to have to buy both versions, because of rope thickness 😬
@@therealzigzagman Thanks for the reply back. Sounds like I should go with the ID L then. I was looking at picking up a rope runner pro. Why didn't you like yours? Based on my research, it seems like the general complaint is that the bird will stick? Is that from a lack of maintenance? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to educate myself and make an informed decision. Thanks 😊
@@alotl1kevegas860 yes, the original run had issues with the bird sticking. It requires way too frequent cleaning to stay proper. The CE stamped version has a slightly stronger spring. I have one, and have had less issues with it, but still requires much more maintenance then any other climbing device.
Nice setup, I've got the Cross Pro and it's packed (should have got the XL in retrospect). For your hitch climber setup, is there a reason that you use the Hitch Climber Rig over the standard Hitch climber or the Eccentric? Thanks for the video.
Honestly, when I got it, it was before the eccentric came out. It’s better made than the original hitchclimber, and I liked the color combo. One thing about the eccentric that i don’t like it’s got everything is on top of itself
@@therealzigzagman Fair enough, I agree about the eccentric as I have one and it is very inconvenient to attach my chest biner when I'm running rope wrench/tether. One would think that they would have caught that in the testing. Anyway, climb safe and take care
Been using the purple Pinto for over twenty years, and I, too, would like to know how you configure that on the crane sling? Thanks! [edit: Oops, just realized, you said it's your tie-in, not rigging sling...so I'm assuming you hang your doubled climbing line in the Pinto(?)...I could be totally barking up the wrong tree...so if I'm missing something, sorry...]
what is the aproximate height of the bag all zipped up? cannot seem to find the measurements anywhere. I need it to fit in a specific compartment in our fire engine.
Only the rope runner pro is a problem. The original runner from singing tree is pretty awesome. Notch redesigned it and called it the pro, but there are many inherent design flaws, mainly concerning defects with the spring, and overly sensitive to the most minimum amount of sawdust or debris, both of which cause the bird to not engage, and subjects the user to surprise free falls. Kinda the opposite of what you want from a life support device.
@@therealzigzagman - Sounds like when non-tree people bought out Sherrill Tree, they made a few mistakes here and there...not a fan of the direction the company has gone in general.
Mine are distel geckos from back before Notch bought them out, but you can get distel carbons from treekit.arb for the same price Notch charges for their knock off version made in taiwan
@@therealzigzagman - Just for your edification, Taiwan is what us old guys call "The _good_ China".... or, "Our China"...and it is absolutely better than Chinese production...... Having said that, I'm not a fan of the new owners on any level of the business.
