Hello Lewis! Always it interesting to see what things others anglers carry. All the best.

I was thinking about buying a chest pac but I don’t like loads of bulk at the front. I might try one on and see because it seems to sit higher on the chest than bulked out jacket pockets! Cheers 🎣

I was the same as you mate but thought I’d give it a go, it’s not anywhere near as bad as what you’d think. They don’t get in the way or anything. I don’t think I’d go back to anything else now 👍🏻

How’s it going Peter? Unfortunately I blanked 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 I was out 2/9/22 I tried various streamers (black, brown, olive) The conditions were pretty good for streamer fishing, high and coloured but for some reason the fish just weren’t on the streamer, I have no doubt it I nymphed I would have caught a few but I’ve got all winter for that 😉👍🏻

@@nymphingnewt7639Yes, fish can be pretty finicky when the temps rise, you never know how they will act, I would have nymphed and hoped for the best in changeable waters.

I couldn't do with that Infront. Prefer a sling pack....line would tangle If anything Infront

I was always against chest packs, before I bought that I had the simms sling pack and I did like it but the chest pack made things far easier. I’ve never had the line tangle up on the chest pack only when I’m using my gopro it sometimes catches on that.

@@nymphingnewt7639 It's the things hanging down ( nippers etc ) that I kept getting like caught on. I also don't like something sticking out in front. I have a airflow chest pack, but I just use it as a sling back and turn it to my side. I've found flyline will attach to anything, including the coils of a zinger and especially key tabs on zips. Pain in the arse!

@@nymphingnewt7639 I even go often now if using waders, just using the vision pockets to put stuff in and only having small backpack with food, coat drink in. My cutter and forceps attached to waders. If there was something to attach a water bottle on, I'd even often try and go with only the waders!

It's all about fashion and fads.......I look at this and think it's much more comfortable to use a light waistcoat with large pockets.

Each to their own mate, I’ve had waistcoats in the past, nothing wrong with them but me personally I prefer the chest pack 👍🏻

Is that net medium or large?
@nymphingnewt7639
@nymphingnewt7639 Год назад
It’s the trout size think it’ll be classed as small but it’s wide, I’ve landed sea trout in it 👍🏻

@@nymphingnewt7639 Cheers. Think I will look at the medium Incase I get a big seatrout... I'm getting it for the scales. Are they reliable? If the scales do t work, to me it's then just another net and I could just get a 20 pound grey's or snowbee!

@@carlhughes9584 the scales work perfectly, I think it’s a lifetime guarantee too if anything happens to them

@@nymphingnewt7639 I think that's only in America........only thing with scoop nets, they have some big disadvantages in my opinion......there's times when a longer handle gets you the fish. ( For example when a big fish has seen you after you've failed to net it and is thrashing about and refusing to come closer and any time the hooks going to ping out! ) Also if you have a high bank or an obstacle in the river ( I've managed to net a trout wrapped around an underwater tree, that I could NOT have got if using a scoop net ) You can also use the handle as a wading stick or help get a fly hooked up in a tree. Pity they don't make these scoop nets with a telescopic handle if you need it?

@@nymphingnewt7639 I just bought one......not even weighted a fish yet, but notice when I open the scales, sometimes it will be bang on the black line at zero, but other times at 8 oz! Does yours do this? Doesn't give me much confidence. Scale seems rather stiff too.
