What I admire about both you and Josh (and your supportive spouses) is that you are pursuing your dreams, doing what you love, even though there isn’t anyone guaranteeing you’ll make a steady salary. And you both work super hard and keep very busy! 😀
I’m a 67 yr old woman... sitting in my easy chair and had a BLAST I mean a BLAST going thru all the buildings just finding the coolest stuff!!!! I loved going thru the old shop drawers full of really old tools I just had a BLAST Alex Thank you!!! I’m still excited for your finds and I live in Washington State!! I just am a country girl at heart would have loved to do some digging around with you guys! So many precious things there from the past!!! Why this was more fun than going to the movies by golly !!!! Bye for now Kathy
I really enjoy your show. My mother and grandma were from Edmonton Alberta. She moved to the United States in the late 50s and I was born in Detroit in 1964. We would often catch the tunnel bridge and spend weekends in Windsor. The folks in Canada are so much more friendly than the U.S. Your episode where you helped the man that found the"bambie" picture touched my heart and reminded that there are still good ppl out here. Godbless you young man.
Alex, you've got the greatest group of friends, customers and acquaintances. Thanks for sharing them with us. I can't wait to see what Josh makes with his hoard.
Always fun to see you dig through junk to find some treasures, and having JOSH with you was extra special. Does Josh have something against flowers? That look! Lol. Love that you chose fruit trees for your store yard. As you may know, I have about a dozen dwarf fruit trees in my small homestead yard, some of them espaliering into a pickable living fence around our seating area and fire pit. Give a hug to our girl Melissa with love from BanDana Gramma ❤
Nice to see Josh again! It's great to see you always keep things moving, rather than sitting on inventory. Those trees are going to make the back yard of the store really beautiful as they grow up
1:18 I was thinking about the 1971 movie "Duel" with Dennis Weaver, where he was chased by a huge black Peterbilt tanker truck - It was also one of Spielberg's earliest work as a director, and one of the first ones that put him on the map so to speak - that movie was very scary for a 9 year old me! 😱😊
Well, this sure was fun! I did this when I was a teenager, with my friends and we had a blast looking at stuff from the '20s, 30s and 50s. Most of it we got to keep for free. Glad you took us along
"Quick nickel over a slow dime"....and that is why you are a success Alex! And nice to see you turn that cash into some trees for the shop. (is that part of the requirement from the city?) It was also nice to see Josh get some raw materials for his art. I can't wait to see what he makes of all of it.
KAYO- grew up with it! It was actually chocolate flavored water! I loved it as i was not a carbonated soda fan. Thanks for the flash back! bless the family, n Josh n brother too. Stay well!
Looked like fun, I still would have grabbed one of those milk cans. They can be used as stools or yard art. They may not be popular in Canada but farmhouse decor is popular right now in the U.S. 😉
Alexander, did you grab the dishes and glasses? Those, too, while not high value, are popular just like the milk cans. Ditto with those farm chairs. I think I also saw a dresser.
You fellas had such a fun day! Thanks for taking us youtubers along. The skies seem endless in Alberta. The scenery is beautiful. The flowers in the wooden barrel is a nice aaddition to the store front. 🙂🙂🙂
I used to have a Ford 4X4 with the 460. No matter what, the mileage was 8 miles to the gallon. I could be empty, loaded, or loaded and towing, still 8 miles to the gallon.
It was great to see the other point of view from your picking day with Josh. I Love the way you made a planter out of the barrel as that will really look beautiful throughout the summer. Stay safe and Blessings to you and your family.
I can’t stop laughing 😂 😂😂 Alex: plays scary music, talks creepily how something is living under the pile of stuff Also Alex: OH HEY! AN UNDERWEAR BOX!!
OMG ALEX! That Yamaha! It's a clone to the bike I had as a kid! 1972 Yamaha 175 Enduro 2-stroke. It's even in the same color, with the Yamaha stripe! I want it so bad! Sooo bad I just googled how far a drive it is from Portland Oregon to Edmonton! You're only 1,000 miles away! Except - border closed for Covid, and I don't know if I could bring a Yamaha with no title in Canada back to the US. It'll sell long before I ever get there. I had a 1969 Blue Honda CT70 / Trail70, and graduated to the 175 Yamaha. That was 30 years ago, I now want them back!
That was so much fun to watch! So happy to see Josh doing some art stuff picking too. The trees and plants are a nice addition to the curb appeal of the store. I had to laugh at Josh’s expression when you displayed the flowers, lol.
It was so great to see Josh again. How fun to pick with a friend. I wanted the 2 small windows in the front of the antique store. A little too far from California.
Beware! There is some unsavoury persons going around the neighbourhood stealing potted plants!! I DID have some vegetables in pots last week and there was a local business with a pile of plant dirt and a missing planter!
greetings its great to see you've brought one of ur buds, Alex your a good guy/friend to hook Josh up with materials. Its great fun to watch the two of you, U can tell he really learns alot from you & I enjoy the adventure/ guy stuff I should have had brothers. Thanks 4 the thorough dig, great treasure finds. Ur awesome with that. lots of variety today, good stuff& a buy for yourself trees COOL!!! GREAT VLOG. Alex lovin' ur humor always be you ( :
that was my first thought. It is a really good degreaser for those who have no other access. Janitorial supplies have better but not readily available.
I had a green Yamaha IT 175 enduro. It was so loud when you took the baffle out haha. It was surprisingly fast for a 175. I almost forgot about Josh's truck. That thing's a beast!!
the other day when I saw the "junk", I thought of Josh---so did you! Great minds, huh? Anyway, it was so nice Josh could go on the picking with you. Love to see what he makes! Love the way you are doing quick turn arounds! I think I should add that my fav youtube channels that I subscribe to are yours, Josh's, and one called DIYfferent
So cool! I get to see 2 videos from Alex and then I get to see a Josh video and then Josh again in one of the Alex videos. LOL Made my day. You certainly did find some very cool stuff today, and Josh did great! Glad to see him out there with you because I knew he'd find stuff there that he can use. Your day was certainly different from mine. It got up to 99 F here in Sonoma County, California, today. And when it was raining on your way out to find all your stuff I was a little jealous of that nice cool rain coming down. It still hasn't cooled off all that much here. I spent the day inside staying as cool as possible watching RU-vid videos of Curiosity Inc and Joshua Alexander. Ha ha ha ha! Love it.
The old ambulance is way too cool. When I was stationed in Edzell, Scotland, UK in early 70's the US Navy was using ambulances like this. I have driven it on multiple occasions. I think they stopped because they had this monster engine that made it almost fly. It was top heavy and we had to be careful to slow down for sharp turns. Only thing, ours was painted grey. Thanks for videos.
But we know he put a LOT of money into the truck to get it working and to get it home. He really does need free stuff! (The more free stuff, the more sculptures he can make, the more money he can earn.)
The 3 wheel trike ATVs are banned in many areas due many people being injured or killed since they are easy to roll over. They haven't been manufactured since the 1980s.
this video was a treat !!! seeing u and josh together picking is so fun .....i wish i was there with ya'll .....u 2 would probably have a field day in my garage my dad had so much stuff like what ur finding its crazy .....i dunno what im going to do with it all ....well glad to see yall had a great day picking .....uve made me feel FOMO for sure lol
