William Pridgin verge fusee pocket watch, late 18th century. Documented watchmaker William Pridgin apprenticed to William Thornton in 1756 and became a Freeman in 1778. Paired brass case (gold gilded), studded leather outer case, measures 48mm wide; weighs 80.4 grams. Serial # 788. Watch winds up and is running. Thick, high dome glass "bullseye" crystal still in good shape.
