I just bought a set of 2023 450XCF AER forks for my 2018 300XC because I love the rest of this old bike so much. And I gotta say it really does so much better on both ends of the spectrum - braking bumps, and big drops, compared to the 2018 AER fork.

Just received my 23 300 XC and love it. I’m riding in Arizona desert with a little slow Enduro and fast and flowing. This suspension is well suited for both, though maybe a little stiff for strictly hard enduro; but that is why we get the XC.

This cup was on the older AERs as well a blue sleeve in between the lug and lowers. Same idea but installed differently. There were a year or two without it where a bumperstop was used.

"Don't listen to Jeff Slaves and his grumpiness" - 😆 Have had that policy for years... The recent AER fork equipped bikes I have ridden are pretty decent. My '18 300 XC's fork's compliance was substantially improved by installing a "Glide Kit". Perhaps down the road I will send it to you for some TBT goodness!

Dude I’m starting to like my 2024 AER48 forks from 250sx better than my xplor7500 kit in my other forks I had a 2022 250sx with AER and they sucked these new ones have really nice valving or something. I am using them on very rocky rooty New England terrain not bad at all.

Cool breakdown, thanks for sharing. 😁 I’ve only got 3.5hrs on my 300SX (late coming here 😞🇦🇪) and I’m loving the bike/suspension out the box. Touched nothing yet, just a heavier rear spring and away. I’ve ridden 21/22 AER forks and thought the were good. Enjoying these ones more. Great for desert and MX use, fear nothing, just aim the bike at it and hold on. 😄 My 300EXC runs with spring cones and Trax but don’t see me bothering with this bike for a long while. Thanks for calling out all the whining about the forks… MX architecture fork is harder than people would like for EXC/XC spectrum riding because they won’t buy a PDS/non-linkage bike. Buy an EXC or revalve your forks and get off Facebook. 😂👌

Grumpy did say something along the lines of for his riding, not racing, blah blah blah. His video was actually informative too if you can ignore the grumbling. Get out and ride your DIRTBIKES! people then take what the internet says and see if it somewhat applies to your style and use the information available. Morgan likes to rip pretty fast especially on this bike seems to me. Two strokes rule!

So this is only on the 2023 and up? I thought they made the big revision in 2021. I have a GG EX300 and curious if my forks would be the same as shown in your video.

The big revision in 21 was with the balance chamber in the air spring.

You hear they're great but everyone I know converted theirs or put conevalves on. Nobody wants to mess with air pressure on forks and have inconsistency depending on temperature. The feel of spring is just more consistent and better feeling

No hydro stop in air side and the balance chamber (dimple) is the same from last year.

Honestly I love the new front fork setup I mean compared to idk bikes of even the last just even cpl years it's amazing threw out I'm yet to find anything with the new bike I'm not happy about its amazing hell I've put 38hrs on mine in 4 outings I don't wanna get off damn thing

hey Morgan, sry if you've got this question a lot. i have 2022 ktm 250 xc tpi. after 2 seasons of riding in colorado and utah i decided i just don't like this aer fork. just not for me; it bounces me all over, it's not as "squishy" as i want. what would you recommend? thx.

What it allows you to do is set the valving a little softer while still retaining bottoming resistance.

@@WestBoundaryPhotography well, then it's worse than I thought...unless KTM puts the resources into developing a duel chamber spring fork, and they could basically copy showa or KYB(less patents , if any)then KTM drivers are stuck thinking they got the best suspension for the money...when on fact they do not...
