What’s NEXT for TCSM? - The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Game 

In my opinion . Tcm shocked everyone when it first dropped. This is the only asym game where it works with a 3v4, no one would have ever thought of this tbh. I think they are working for rights rn for tcm 2. Also it’s kind of hard getting the rights to add movie characters in the game. We can’t compare tcm to dbd because dbd has years of experience and license. It’s very hard to add movie characters because they have to contact the actual actor/actress then go through their management team then do a lot of convincing and how much money they’ll get from this. Then after that the actor/actress has to do hours and days of voice lines, death sounds, escape sounds, and match starting sounds. After that they have to do every single mocap for every little action of the game. That takes a lot of time and work to do. We need to stop comparing dbd and tcm. Let’s remember where dbd came from, the game took YEARS to add the first license character. Does no one remember when it was only the legacy and blood outfits for the characters? Let’s cut tcm some slack it won’t magically just add cool characters from movies that’s not how it works. We were patient when dbd barely had content for years. However, we aren’t patient when tcm is struggling a little bit for the first year. I think right now tcm is doing a lot better than before. We have had content drop every two weeks and it feels amazing at the moment. Let’s give them time to add characters from movies because it’s a long and tedious task. Also this is so random but why did the devs add the space in the word “chainsaw”? In the original movie title chainsaw is one word, I don’t know if they ever explained why though. Maybe it was a spelling error on their behalf.

They should really consider making the game an alternate universe instead of basing it as a prequel to the first film. It being “canon” to the first movie limits them on what they can add anyways, as they would have to constantly change lore around for it to make sense, take Maria being alive for example, she was supposed to be dead but now she’s alive? And Chop Top is supposed to be the next family member, but him being in the U.S. in 1973 wouldn’t make sense, either due to the fact that he is STILL serving in Vietnam, or he is recovering from his head injury (injuries like that take more then half a year to recover from most of the time). If they make the game an alternate universe, after that they should make a fully fleshed out story mode, and make it decision based, like The Quarry or Until Dawn like, so the players can decide the fates of the victims on if they die or not, while also clearing up the mess of lore they have right now.

Literally I feel like once they make a real STORY mode than people will care about the original character but when the game first came out people was literally asking is “sally pam Kirk” playable character and the answer is sadly no

So I love TCM, but I honestly think they should aquire TCM2 rights and wrap the game up when they've released all of that content - then move onto developing a new horror game using the same mechanics they've developed for TCM. Gun has completely blown DBD out of the water with visuals, cosmetic quality, and mechanics (lockpicking, sound triggers, various escape routes, dark spots and hiding in bushes) -- but in my opinion, the game being exclusively TCM content holds it back (I know that probably sounds stupid being thats what the game is all about). So it's likely a hot take: I would just personally really love it if they would create a game with the core gameplay of TCM, but with the potential for variety that DBD has. Like killers and maps that take place outside of Texas; even leaning more internationally - with a mix of middle-of-nowhere, and modern metropolitan locations. That doesn't even mean they have to compete with DBD for licences - I think the developers of TCM are actually competent enough to create their own characters and people will grow to love them (Sissy and Johnny as examples), but licenced clothing cosmetics such as Ghostface would definitely be welcome. Basically to summarise - I think Gun should directly compete with BHVR for the same player base, which I think it's very difficult to do when focusing exclusively on TCM. There are a LOT of people who unhappy with DBD, it's lack of care and attention, lack of quality, and repeated failure to stay true to the horror genre. Gun should be hoovering those people up and giving them an alternative as they do all of them things really well. Ever since TCM released I've probably played maximum of 10 games of DBD as I was so unhappy with the state of the game/community - TCM was/is a breath of fresh air. Either way I do love TCM for what it is, and I'll continue to play/support it regardless - I'm just not sure how much longevity the game has being exclusively focused on the same story/family/area.

Grandma will make an appearance devs said forever ago they have plans for her and she's been coming up a lot in dialogue with cool implying she's alive in these events timeline. We're getting Jesse dlc soon, rain weather is coming and a new map by the year anniversary next month

a car graveyard map would be cool and the radio station from tcm 2 would be cool, i think marias story is over its time they move on to other characters and end marias story and stop adding characters connected to maria. they should make it set around when chop top comes back from vietnam.

It's tricky with these horror movies turned into video game concepts and Gun knows all about it with their previous title. I think they said that they're not able to get the rights for the other installments of the series everybody wants the check at the end of the day.

it's really only because they need to get rights for it, i think the 2'nd movie is almost in guns rights so i think choptop and the map is coming in like a year or less, i hope the community stay for it tho. It's a great game just gun takes it's time and that's a good thing.

Honestly I agree & I quite enjoy TCM. We also need a proper roadmap, they announced a Museum type mode back in March & we haven’t heard anything about it since. I’m hoping we get a 1 year anniversary stream that shows the next steps for TCM

So far for the anniversary GUN has a Steelbook plan but as for DLC content. We don't know what they are going to released out of the cannon. I know its going to be a load of shit dropping thats going to make jaws dropped.

I personally think it’s fine that TCM doesn’t have Chop Top or Stretch or any other licensed characters because the game is a prequel to the first movie so it wouldn’t really make sense for those characters to be here

With Maria now in the game I don't know where it goes from here I know the chop top leak happened if they want the game to keep going they have to bring in other movies in this franchise they have to work on the balance a bit more I miss the time we're victim players were scared now victim players can bully the Killers which makes the killers look bad and dumb And a very important thing about horror is never make your killer look dumb Friday the 13th part 6 may have been kind of a parody of Friday the 13th but no part of that made fun of Jason himself he was still intimidating and scary. I love the game I hope it keeps going but they really do need to add more from other movies that there's just not enough content in this Friday the 13th the game had made up counselors sure but also almost every Jason from the film recognizable locations from the films killer klowns has some recognizable characters on both sides and recognizable locations evil Dead the game has practically every character that's ever been in the movie or show. There's so much promise here and I love gun. But I don't know what they're going to do next if they don't Branch out of the first film

TCM Game need a new timeline to 2003 TCM...Maria is the real final girl she survive and everybody got clapped she got a freaking amnesia and forgot everything... Maybe the next storyline is all about Jessie...

The game needs a story mode ion know what's there problem with making one I'm sure some people at supermassive games would love to help them create a story mode for this game 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yoooo Pooch u already know Ive done watched u from the get go so I already know u mean no offense by it, you just wanna see it succeed like me. I think they need to balance the game properly to keep people in and fix the lobby system already. Right now u wait like 10 to 15 minutes to get into a match to just get destroyed by Johnny or be trapped by Hands, Cook, and Hitchie combo. The ranking system takes way too long for newer players and nobody wants to keep respecting to get different trees. Johnny needs to get fixed with his sticky attacks, Hands needs a cooldown on his ripcore, and the stamina system needs to be looked into. Something else ive brought up to Gun, is that there are literal killer lines that just straight up tell u if a victim is in the bushes or hiding neraby. This totally destroys the whole point of the game to stealth. I'm a great gamer and been gaming for 20 years but I'm imagining the average gamer with a job, other things they're into, and a family. Nobody in that position is going to play a game like this for a long time to just killed by unbalanced mechanics and a steep learning curve and ranking system. They'll probably just hop on DBD because at least the looping is consistent and u only gotta deal with 1 killer. DBD to me is boring as hell and thats no shade at the developers thats just me being honest. TCSM is a way better looking game, fun to play, and incredibly immersive. Unfortunately with the issues I just mentioned, I don't think it will be as recognizable as DBD. Another thing is what u were mentioning, which is hooking people in, since they only got the licenses for the first film, which is over like 40 years old, not gonna get as much attention from fans of it. Maybe if it had released in the early 2000s, plus we need more from the sequels like u mentioned. I think rn they just need to balance the game, tweak the skill trees, lobbies, xp, and release content from the other films. Release Chop Top and other Slaughter family members from the third film. Give us the underground bone graveyard from the second film and the swamp from the third film. I love TCSM so i really hope more people play it and we get the necessary patches🤞🏻 On a side not Pooch u should check out Deciet 2 its a really good free asymmetrical horror game with Among Us and Traitors in Terrorist Town gameplay mechanics. TCM brought Quality controll into this trash genre lol literally only 2 games in this whole genre been decent that's Evolve and TCM. DBD is skins and IPs the Chase in DBD is great that's literally the only decent thing about that game TCM is alot more repetitive then dbd
