I think reason for quality in new construction build and even remodel is that people want it fast . My new clients would call me and if I would tell them that I am booked for 6 months, they would just hire someone that can do it tomorrow. My past clients seen my quality so they are always willing to wait . Demand is so high that builders just hire any subs and as long it’s done fast it’s all good for them . I keep saying that remodelers will be very busy in few years after wall starts to crack and start noticing different stuff . I already have been called to fix stuff that some guys did 2 years ago . For decking that Azek floor boards gets so hot in summer that good luck to walk barefoot. Generation changed and they can’t fix anything so contractors will always be busy
Install a structural standing seam correctly and it’s going nowhere in a hurricane. Metal roofing is like a wife - not enough screws, could end up at the neighbors.
You’re not wrong. When it comes to a mech seamed roof, however most of the metal roofs that blew off were snap lock product where the debris would open up the seam and then the wind uplift rating changes after it’s opened.
