My two favorite US silver coins are: 1 Walker halves and 2. Peace dollars. Just completed a date set of Peace dollars minus the 1921. Same with the Walker halves.
Love Morgans. Peace dollars are okay. The nicest looking US coin has to be the standing liberty quarter, although some of the trade dollars from up until the 1870's are good runners up. Wow, looked at the Libertads and the premiums are almost as bad as the US Mint! It would be interesting to see if the premium is the same from a BRICS country, such as Brazil. It is interesting that according to the department of the treasury, the price of gold is still $41, which is what it was when the US abandoned the gold standard in 1971. Thanks for sharing your collecting and passion!
The Morgan dollar is gorgeous and been around a whole lot longer. I have about 100 of them and to think who may have had them prior to me is so cool to imagine!! 👍
When I first started out buying them, the Peace was my favorite from a design standpoint, but now I lean more towards the Morgan. That’s because there are just so many more to choose from, more readily available, the luster and the strike tend to be better, and last but not least: That toning!!!! 🤩 liked & subbed 🤠👍
Two of my favorite coins of all time. I will buy culls of both all day long. Most recognizable "junk silver" for barter and stacking!! Great video young man!
I vastly prefer the peace dollar in every way. I live the story, the obverse, the reverse and everything in between. It definitely my favorite US coin ever minted
I like the peace dollars, but Morgan's I own graded and lose coins love em buying them up when I see them for sale keep up the good work I like the videos only been watching a short time
🤣 Ok, Ok…..the Morgan. Simply because there is more history there. Every time I hold one I try to transport myself back to the date on that coin. What else can link someone to the past like that?
You are correct about the 1922 Peace high relief. Mainly because I think that there was only about, less than 500 made ,and the only thing that would make them noticeable was, at the bank, high relief didn’t stack and they would always fall over after, maybe, 5 were stacked. But like you said, if you have 1 , then you could be a very wealthy person.
I haven’t dove to deep into the Morgan’s and Peace yet. Iv had a couple but might get back into them. There is just sooooo many different things to learn about them.
Tough choice for me. Overall favorite.... Morgan. Favorite individual coin... 1923 Peace Dollar. My Dad was born in 1923. Perhaps the Peace eagle looks pensive after the USA came out of the First WW? The 1913 Federal Reserve Act was the beginning of the end for constitutional silver. Sadface. Thanks for sharing great information.
Liberty’s a lot hotter but the eagle looks like a pidgin. The Morgan has an ugly profile but a kick ass eagle soooooooooo I’ll take the Liberty 😎 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Morgans all the way for me! I have over 100 of them,! Such a gorgious coin and to think of who possibly may have held them prior to us just blows my mind and is absolutely intriging because of their age. Peace dollar is good too but for me, its the morgan all day long. She on the morgan looks like shes alittle bit older than the peace dollar face but shes so classy and elegant looking than the the peace. Either way, ill take either one and have both but my go to is the morganfor if nothing else just because of the history of being around much much longer,!!
@@StatesideStash I definitely want to add some more to my stack. A lot of what there is around here is the high end graded stuff. I’m more about the raw stuff you can fill tubes with.
They are on different level something about Carson city Morgan dollars the dmpl ones that just have that look really all Carson city Morgan dollars have a look
Hey Stateside! I'm a fairly new sub for you, but not new to the community. I've been really enjoying your content, sir. This was a great video too. Thank you for your service as well! I really do appreciate your sacrifice. Fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's Ark and brother it's starting to rain!
You’ll definitely be able to tell, if there’s alot of wear you’ll have to do some investigating on the rays on the reverse side. High reliefs have an extra one.
I never did like them both. Every time I looked at them I pasted and I didn't like paying $70 for a oz of silver until SD bullion just now having a sale on the reverse proof set. Now I have them
No you didn’t crush it. Nice try though. But I have to give you props, it is better than I could do. The Morgan’s are definitely one of the better designs from the mint. As well as being one of my favorites . For some reason and I don’t know why but after WWII I don’t think that we have minted anything that was as artistic. But after the Walking liberty , I personally don’t think that we have done anything since.
Silver for barter is ridiculous. If things got that bad, no one will care about money. They'll be breaking into stores for food and water. Silver and Gold is a hobby and a place to store your wealth if you are not investing and you hate banks.
What was minted between 1904 and 1921...nothing? I started stacking in January with Constitutional (a fancy word for cull) Morgans from 1879 to 1900. I'd be very interested to stack some similar Peace dollars going forward. I've been sidelined in recent weeks by some unanticipated expenses (cough, cough skid steer repair). InB4 someone says silver and gold don't break down, just buy gold dude.😂
@@StatesideStash Dude!!!!! I need to to stop forgetting that I AM A STACKER not a collector. I go for Silver Weight and Eye-Appeal. Per my Prepper Standards. When I want to look at fancy silver I just watch your videos.
In case you have not noticed Stash. My Gig is Genuine Morgan Dollars. Mint States are cool but adding Genuine to the mix multiplies the variety by 100. Mint States are expensive, hard to find and they all look the same. Junk Morgan's may have Battle Scares but true Character always shows a bit of Scaring. Remember, the lower the grade the higher the silver/plastic ratio.
@@StatesideStash The question is do you dislike me for exercising my Liberty to like my Silver Dollars Polished, Genuine PCGS Detail Grade. Is your question, what Silver Dollar I like best or what Silver Dollar do you like best. I know you like Very High Premium Silver. I watch your videos, you like PCGS Straight Numerical Graded Coins. Right? I do not like Cleaned Coins Either, I prefer Polished. 🤠
