Excellent intervention from Dr Abati regarding the context of Mrs Obaseki's comments. The fact that many of us cannot distinguish between facts and insults show the level of our moral bankruptcy in Nigeria. We love to blame our leaders for our problems but, in truth, our leaders are a reflection of us. Shame.
It is an irrelevant fact that adds no substance to the current bone of contention in Edo state. Having no wife has no business with the competence of a candidate. Both parties were wrong, and that's "gutter politics."

Adams Oshiomhole never had any class or enduring values like decorum and self- restraint. He has never looked in the direction of those who preceded him like Igbinadion, Oyegun and Oserheimen. He only 'acidentally' occupied the position of Governor of Edo State.
She deserve the crown. As a matter of fact, the odds were in her favour, that's why south Africa didn't want her to contest in the finals. As for her coming to Nigeria to contest, she was the most popular person in that contest and there were lots of sympathy votes for her from both South Africans, Nigerians and other African countries. Dr Reuben Abati has jokingly stated several times that Rufai Oseni needs to get a wife, Rufai hasn't for once insulted Reuben Abati. In anyway, Dr Betsy Obaseki only reference to wife as an added advantage for Asue Ighodalo while introducing Mrs Ighodalo, that wasn't even an insult.
It is an insult to talk about someone not having a wife, she knows it, that's why she said it. Instead of sticking to what her husband or the candidate has to offer Edo people, she's talking about a candidate not having a wife. That's wrong too

The first lady did not go out of context mentioning their wife, where there's a President or Governor's office there is also a first lady's office, if monday is avoiding interviews and debate and Oshiomole is constantly the one doing it for him, does that mean he will have to bring Oshiomole's wife or other apc wife is going step in as his wife? You’re bringing in too much sentiments into the case. They were both wrong. Anyone involved in politics and knows that people have been attacked at for easier things must not go and throw that kind of stone first. No political opponent will take that jibe lying down, they will go and dig dirt to get something to get back at you. Another hypocrisy Monday is not talking directly means he can’t talk but, if Wike speaks directly it becomes an overreach. Okay we will look for the balance in Hon. Rufai.
