Missing Neil getting completely cracked up by Alex here. He's somewhere out there laughing his ass off. Great to see Ged and Al having fun as always. Miss these guys!
No, no he's not. He has ceased to exist, just as he believed. Stop imposing your beliefs onto him, he'd hate that. It's as offensive as a nonbeliever telling someone that their loved one has ceased to exist if they believe they haven't (something I have never done and would never do).
In interviews he did, it sounded like he was an atheist. The lyrics he wrote certainly indicated that also. So he certainly is no where except in hell, and certainly NOT laughing. And that's what atheists expect to happen. They expect to go to the grave and rot and return to dust.
It is clear these two (and Neil when he was alive) spent most of their time together laughing......and that seems like a pretty darn good way to spend the better part of 40+ years.
Humor has been their bond from the get-go. These guys never got involved with drugs, egos, sex scandals, royalty issues, musical differences, so that's how they lasted 40 years...
I remember the days when we were ridiculed for being RUSH fans. We get the last laugh after all now huh? See what fun everyone else missed all these years? Even better when Neil was with them but Ill never forget them or the Professor. All 3 made my life a little better from the age of about 15 or so on.
Oh yes, the phenomenon of discovering Rush at 14-15 years old. How many tens or maybe hundreds of thousands of us were out there and didn't know of each other, all detached and subdivided. At the time I couldn't be bothered with what other people thought or what their own taste in music was, I was too consumed in a mindset of "Wait what? I can't believe there's a rock band that's willing and allowed to make music in this way and release it to the world!" They didn't fit a mold and were uniquely fearless in the themes they chose to write about. And very few in my life seemed to get it. It literally felt like stumbling upon hidden treasure that had been way overlooked.
"Driven on without a moment to spend to pass the evening with a drink and a friend!" Apparently not today! Cheers, Alex and Geddy! Pour one for Neil and have a great time! And before I forget, A) Happy birthday to Alex on the 27th and B) my beloved husband shares that very birthday!
Their Chemistry is amazing given the Circumstances. I Wish Them Well as they put on their Bravest Face and move forward through The Garden of life. But let me Cut To The Chase; I’ll do The Best I Can to get a few bottles of this Cold Fire!
Except maybe for those dead planets orbiting Cygnus. Now those guys are really “out there!” It was pretty cool when they sent visitors once back in the 70s when we only thought the world was insane.
There needs to be a series from Geddy & Alex. Just 10 mins each...I miss a good, clean golden ale. Brewed at Henderson means it should be good. Can't wait...🍺🤣👍🎸🎼🎵🎶
@@hermanhelmich huh? Star struck from watching a video? It's just an observation based on how Alex has aged compared to Geddy. I think you're taking it a bit too literally.
@@alibertylover omg what is wrong with you people? Age is more than hair color. Do you have anything better to do than be so cynical about something I posted?
I'm so glad Alex was there with his huge "I am the science guy" tag, to enlighten Geddy who is just someone who enjoys beer as his tag states. It was necessary.
For those of you who don't know there is a great Rush podcast called "Something For Nothing", which is done by two guys who are lifelong friends and huge Rush fans. It started with just the two of them having great discussions about each Rush album, then they started having guests on, from Howard Ungerleider to Martin Popoff, and just this past week they had Maiah Wynne from the side project Alex is involved in, Envy Of None. This is the best podcast ever, and the next best thing to an Alex and Geddy podcast. Highly recommended!!!
I miss the 70's! 😪 Rush was the first concert I'd ever seen - Farewell to Kings! I was 15 & on my third date. Awesome show! The first time I ever seen an explosion on stage - incredible! $10 for a ticket & I had to work my a** off to get it & it was well worth it. I've been a lifelong fan ever since.
My first RUSH show was at Cobo Hall in Detroit for the Moving Pictures tour in March of '81 at age 15. 4 months later, I saw Van Halen at the same venue for their Fair Warning tour...
Well, I've been missing Molson Golden Ale for decades since I left Rochester NY. Now it doesn't exist as far as I know. So bravo for 'picking up the mantle' and rebranding.
I already had cassettes and records from Farewell to Kings on. Chronicles was the first CD I ever owned purchased the same day I got my first CD player. 1990?. Still have that CD player too. I wonder if it still works? The only live concert I’ve ever been to was the Hold Your Fire tour stop in New Haven Connecticut. Drove 2 hours from NJ
I love you guy's. you have given so much to us all in the form of pure love for entertainment and have set such a high bar for your craft. Please stay in the public domain in any capacity. just seeing you both together is so uplifting, the loss of Neil will always be so hard to come to terms with but seeing you both have a joke and random conversation helps heal us all. With love from Australia. p.s if there is more music in you both that you might need to get out one day, I would love to see you both fly once again, I'm sure I'm not alone in that thought.
Nice sentiment there. We in the US are sending tons of love towards Australia these days; you guys need it more than most. I feel just like you do towards Alex and Geddy. Very much want to see them perform one more time. Would be a chance for closure and to thank them for all they have done and all they have given us. And that's the problem; I also feel that I don't have the right to ask them to do even one more thing, play one more time.
It's nice to see you gentlemen laughing and smiling. Your music has brought your fans so much enjoyment over the decades. We thank you for sharing it with us.
