If you must buy from RTI, I would recommend buying individual listings so you can see what you are buying. Otherwise, it is a crap shoot, and it favors the house.
I have only bought what I paid for from RTI. It is rolling the dice. Four rifles in and I have not been screwed yet. I would never need to reach out to them. I know what guns are which.
I just received 3 rifles. The calvary carbine was from Italy, and the M95 and Long rifle Carcano was from Ethiopia. All are WW1 dated. To be honest, I think they are over priced. I say that due to the amount of work needed to get them to standard which includes removing all rust, oils and any stock work needed. I went 3 for 3 on the negative side. Not sure I will pay full price for another rifle. I may look for a sale. Again, way too expensive for the condition.
@@gandhi3625 apparently there is a company that’s now going to be making it due to the influx of these 8 x 50 rifles. I’m hoping that ppu will pick up the slack. Currently I just fire form brass to make my own.
MilsurpMunitions is manufacturing 8x50r and it won't be real cheap, but it's coming. When it's available, my guess is that RTI may bump up the price on the 8x50r Steyr/Budapest models. 🤷🏽♂️
RTI for certain things is kindve the only option.. like the mannlicher rifles…. And the vetterlis And the m1917 rifles For other stuff like k98s Enfields And various mausers. Hunters lodge is way cheaper and generally better There is for some reason…. A massive stigma about RTI M1 garands….being “overpriced junk” They are $100 more than a CMP m1 garand field grade…. And are in great mechanical shape….. yes the parkerizing is worn but I bought 2 of them. Both in excellent Mechanical shape With really good bores And decent original USGI wood Some have milled trigger guards some are stamped Some have early ww2 flared front sights others have the later Korean War style Pretty much all of them have the T-105 rear sights. My first m1 from them was a 1943 Springfield with the correct front sight, stamped trigger guard and T-105 rear sight and a Winchester bolt, Harrington and Richardson hammer.. and a 1964 SA barrel Second one is a 1952 Springfield with the correct front sight stamped trigger guard and t-105 rear sight and original SA 1952 barrel The 1952 rifle is entirely Springfield armory with all of the batch numbers matching or within a few digits of each other. So my Korean War m1 was built with at that time ALL new current production inventory it was not assembled using existing stock My personal opinion if your going to collect milsurps ….. you need to know as much as possible about any weapon your considering acquiring.. beforehand…. To know what to look for….. and if your attempting to collect milsurps you NEED to be willing to learn how to. And invest in reloading…. As the years go by most military calibers are getting harder to find and more expensive….. But things like 8x50 mannlicher can be easily made Using 7.62x54r brass Run it through 8mm lebel sizing dies Or 8x50 dies if you can find them And load with 8mm projectiles A good source of 8mm projectiles is that lot of Turkish 8mm Mauser we got a couple years back…. The ammo itself is junk… so it tends to be really cheap. It’s good for pulling the projectiles I got like 500 rounds of it for $40….
Interesting, I’ve been considering hunters lodge lately. What’s your general experience with them? How long does shipping generally take? Any tips and tricks? I’ve heard calling them to see currently inventory is a smart idea(if you can get someone to pick up)
@@infamousjustice7083 I haven’t ordered from them … they only have or had… two things I was interested in…. And I’ve never once really heard a good story about them …. They’ve been around since the 60s or so. And have literally never once “gotten with the times” … They won’t accept cards or anything No online payment…. You have to mail them cash or a money order with a written note of what you want….. or a printed invoice….. They don’t email …. So you will never know when your order is made and shipped until you get it …. And I’ve heard of people waiting anywhere from 3 months to almost a year to get their order….. I’ve heard of money being taken and orders just straight up not being made… etc etc. They still operate like it’s 1960. And advertise like it’s 1960….. but their prices are good. That’s about the only plus side …….
