Those of you complaining about the price, how much do you think they should sell it for? Some of you should break it down with comparables? If you say something is expensive you have really said nothing until you prove it. Price is a relative, value that is what you pay for. The same tube of yam in the African market in the US is 10 dollars. Some of you will say the pay scale in the US is higher than in Ghana, you might have a point, but you might not know the whole truth until you come and experience it for yourself to write your own story, it will be a glass half empty and half full. These are the reason why most farmers in Africa are poor have you asked yourself why? We don't want to pay a realistic price for organic food, how do you expect the farmers to stay in business or pay back their loans? How much is the cost of fertilizer do any of you know?

If 15gh cedis, I will price 10gh cedis from there we reach 12gh cedi. How do an average person survive with such expensive items if they can't negotiate prices though some items are affordable (pepper). My mother's ppl are really suffering yet smiling. Ghana is a bit expensive but you can easily manage if you are here. Salaries are pretty high as compared to most African countries. Normal government workers salary is averagely around 2000 cedis.

Hi, when my wife comes back to Ghana to visit her family, I send her $500 u.s. dollars I'm wondering how long this last for her to feed herself and my son, to me it's not enough to last her because she looks after my mother inlaw, her uncle and other family members as well, I never mind sending her funds to keep her going, but it seems that even the U.S. dollar doesnt manage very far, so next time she goes I'll send her even more next time, thank you for sharing this insight on the economy their in Ghana❤...Washington d.c. is our home now, although I have not come to Ghana, I was raised in America all my life, love your channel

In general there are better produce prices in Sunyani and near farming areas than further south in Accra, Tema, or Takoradi. Produce prices are better still in season, after rains and harvest, depending on source of the produce. I miss Sunyani, the bread basket of Ghana, as I like to call it. Thank you.

Ghana minimum wage is about 11ghc which is about 1 dollar and some cent , don't be confused with currency numbers , the value of a currency is in it purchasing power .. ask yourself How much can a worker take home at the end of a working day in Ghana??? The amount you can make in an economy and the prices of basic items in any country is what determine how things is going ... Money is in the air but the big question is how much can you make , forget the numbers
I just ordered food here in austria europe, for about 409 Cedi, so 50 Euro. 1 Euro = 8 Cedi at the moment. And I bet, the of the food in Ghana is so much more natural. The fish is really very very cheap. A Diamant Tuna metal box here cost 35 Cedi for about 400 gramm thuna. Thank you for the Video!
Which part of America do you live? In new York, you'll pay more than 10 dollars for that can of tomatoes. One yam will cost you about 15$ and the eggs,if you want to buy the cheapest of the cheapest, it will cost around 8$, we are all informed about these things so enough of the lies.

Please our Sunyani lady was wrong about the process for preparing *Zomi oil* . With Zomi oil they prepare it with salt whilst the *ngo pa* (meaning good oil) is prepared without using salt. What she said is actually the manual way for preparing either Zomi or ngo pa oil without using machine for extracting the oil.
Imaging local market like this and things are expensive I wonder how much shops will be selling basic things in Ghana .. with what I am seeing the Ghanaian people are very below the price of basic commodities... There are few modern shops in west Africa unlike Southern Africa countries where they don't operate open markets like this
This is how in west and central Africa have been trading right from time immemorial. You get fresh foods from the open mkt. However, that doesn't mean there are no shopping malls or supermarkets in west and central Africa.

In my life I have never drank a coconut never eaten a yam,plantain,dried fish,Garri and other foods and we don't have these in South Africa but I would like to try them some day clearly we can be in Africa but we have different foods.
Just thinking.. could it be that the camera is having an effect on the prices, those prices appear quite expensive - could they be selling higher than the normal prices to the locals. The girl is a local, and should know the prices of foods, assuming she is used to buying in the open market.
I Don't understand why people are complaining about the prices?? Are Nigerians that poor? In Ghana 15 cedis is nothing to the ordinary poor Ghanaian. In Ghana the average government worker gets over 2,000 cedis a month so 15 cedis is nothing for us.
@@pinkpanther4868 Ghana min wage is GHC13.53 per day or GHC400 monthly (assuming 30 days of work, even though nobody works 30 days). When you are looking at the price of food, you compare it to minimum wage, not some middle level salary of 2000 with government. Based on your min wage, Ghana is one of the most expensive places to live in Africa.
