Moving every year takes a toll on you. It’s such a hassle to pack and unpack everything, set up services, and change addresses for everything. That’s why I try to move to a place and stay there for as long as my budget allows.
hey just for internet safety, i would edit out some of the location identifiers out of the video. so from 6:48 - 7:38 reveals a lot. also, about the park, i’d maybe say my building is a decent walking distance instead of right next to, it’s more vague. Just one girl looking out for another! Otherwise, thanks for doing this video! I always enjoy seeing how people make apartment spaces work, cause even my own living room sofa is leaving me clueless on how to rearrange it 😭
I really agree with the mental space comment. I recently moved into a bigger apartment and it was the change I needed especially working from home and my cat loves the change too.
Suppose "luxury", like many things in life, is subjective. I mean, the den is nice ( which admittedly isn't always standard equipment in a one bedroom) and appliances seem new, but outside of that, I don't see what's luxury about it. It just seems like a nice place. What about it is luxury to you?
@@grownsimba8120affording to pay 3K just for rent and having more money to spare for other expenses it’s a luxury for a single person. I can’t afford to live alone and pay 3K just for rent but I would love to do so one day! Sharing with roommates is a nightmare especially when you grow older !
I like how you filmed what your place looks like day to day and didn't make it extremely tidy 🙂 Which neighborhoods did you live in before and how did they compare?
I admire anyone who spends $3350 a month to rent a place for the cat to live in. 😻😻😻😻 As a reward, the cat lets you stay in the place rent-free! (also allow you to enjoy doing things like opening cans, scooping litter, grooming, brushing, and other stuff)
Absolutely insane that the rent is $3350/mo. I rented a 1br apartment in DT bellevue in 2011 when I started my first SWE job out of college and the rent was $1200/mo.
if you want sun all day, get south facing because the sun rises in the east and sets in the west on a slight angle. Don't get north, it doesnt work the same way. If you're lucky to have a south facing balcony, you can even grow a garden
Omg this was such a treat lol messy nah just lived in and realistic and YESSS definitely would love a tour of your next place and would love to know why you're not renewing here 😇
Ha Blu? Lived there for a year, I kind of miss it! We were facing south and the exhaust from the restaurants would blow in though so we couldn't open our windows :(
the price is so expensive tho! my mind can't comprehend this amount. I think Los An or NYC one can live for this much and get more out of the city compared to Seattle.
@@andromedastar4900 It's not. You can get a nice 2 br/2 bath at a luxury apartment building in downtown Seattle for like under 4k. I have no clue why the girl in this video pays so much.
@@phantomstranger1125 initially I thought she was in Seattle and not in Bellevue. I saw prices for half as much than this. It's targeted towards tech people
This apartment is simply gorgeous 😍! But the price for it is very high by my standards. For me, renting an apartment worth $ 400 a month already seems prohibitive, because this is more than half of my monthly salary. I wish you a successful move! I hope that the new location will be even more pleasant 😊 and convenient for you than the old one.
I live on the same street and pay similar but we git the massive balcony above the French Pastry shop. We are also moving out because we are moving to Milan.
I swear I saw you a mall recently! Didn't want to say hi since you were by yourself and seemed like you were just going about your day, but I swear it was you haha
Jenn 1 word of advice from someone across the internet in NY.. think about suburb living & commuting.. that way Howl gets a mansion. ;) Oh and you can have a bigger kitchen too!
Hi jehn , would you say seattle has more opportunities than the rest of the us? can you please talk about that I am .NET full stack team lead and I wonder about my chances in the us
What is your 9-5 gig? May not be luxurious but you live in a skyrise apartment with a view. I think if you rented one that is traditional on the ground it would be more like 2k+ .. I live in so cal where it’s insanely expensive but the ones on the ground here range from 2200-2500 1 br .. some are studio (luxury) and the ones skyrise are similar to what you pay. Then we have the skyrise condos that are millions on millions of dollars. Let’s just say I live in what you call mini Silicon Valley hint hint
bruh.. for that price you might as well get a mortgage.. but also i understand because of what the market is like in bellevue, lynwood, renton, seattle its up north of 750k_ for anything decent..
My friend pays 3600$ a m/o in palo alto for a 1B apartment. Hes from taiwan. Is it an asian thing to pay alot of money for a 1b Apartment in a luxury area when they can pay 2400$ a month for a 3 bedroom house 20 minutes out of the luxury area. I am curious to know
You keep referencing moving.. so are you and your boyfriend moving in together? I am so excited for you if that’s the case.. mostly for all the leftovers you’ll be getting.
Not you Jenn but I don't get Americans who can work remotely who still live in America. Not counting kids and other family obligations. So much cheaper in Asia or Latin America.
Just because you work remotely doesn't mean you can work out of the country lol. Plus too many cheaper cities in America to choose from instead of moving to another country
3k for an apartment is a waste of money. If you make this much money to pay for an apartment, you're better off owning your own place. Perhaps, I'm dumb and annoyingly getting in people's personal business 😂
You may not have the income, savings, or credit score to qualify for a mortgage. Or you may be moving a lot because you’re still starting off in life and you move for work. I could pay a low mortgage of $1500. But my credit is shot from medical bills because I became life threateningly ill. And my income is only $45k. I don’t qualify for a mortgage. So I rent a place for much more than $1500 and I have roommates.
Some people work in a volatile industry. Signing up for a 30-year mortgage is not everyone's cup of tea. With an apartment, you can uproot and leave whenever, for whatever good or bad reasons, like being laid off. That's the reality we live in now, where companies cut jobs yearly, almost cyclically. But yeah, I'd never spend $3000+ for any apartment regardless of how much I make.
Do you have any problems with like roaches? Like when you look for an apartment is there anyway you rule out an infestation? I've heard nightmare stories about people renting an apartment and then finding out they have a pest problem.
