Probably the thing I’d want the most is nighttime for 3d world, I mean there is/was a glitch (idk if they patched it or not) that let you play in nighttime mode and half of them worked, it just feels lazy that it isn’t in there, the 3D World Theme feels rushed, there’s a lot of things that I’d still want to see but this is definitely one of my most wanted things
@@fasty93 But there's things added to the other styles that weren't originally in the game, so saying that 3d world didn't have nighttime is the reason it shouldn't get it in Mario Maker doesn't make sense when a lot of things are added to the Mario Maker styles but those items aren't in the original game. Like the Goombrats for example which were added to the older gamestyles despite not being in the older game styles originally.
@@fasty93 Not every stage had a nighttime theme in 3d world, but I'm pretty sure there are instances of the Ground theme (in the intro), Forest Theme, Desert theme, and Ghost house theme, and sky theme (with the space levels). Cave night theme doesn't exist (how can it be night inside a cave), the castle and airship are already night. The only theme I could see this excuse working for is the snow theme (which is always day in the main game)
I actually think the Goomba Shoe would make a lot of sense for 3D World since the original game already has the Goomba Ice Skate which is basically just a Goomba Shoe with different controls. Not just that but glitching the Goomba Shoe into the 3D World style reveals that it's actually partially coded, with it even having an unfinished animation for the Goomba poping out of the shoe.
I’d honestly take everything from 3D world ported to the other themes over anything from the other themes being ported over to 3D world in a heartbeat. The items would just be more useful in general.
I will say, I finally did figure out why they didn't add Tracks to 3D world; it's because they couldn't think of a way to put it in front of terrain, without making it look weird... Probably. There are solutions around it, but there is a reason. Although I still agree that they should have figured out how to include them anyways
@@MintyMoron64 Yeah but what do they do about things attached to it? I think the best solution would be to render objects on a different "layer" than everything else, but I imagine that'd probably be a bit taxing lol
@@justforlawlsandtrolls most likely they would make it not placeable on terrain. ik thats dumb, but it's nintendo, and they always have lazy solutions for everything
I completely agree with your S-tier, though I'd also bump munchers and spike traps up into S-tier. Munchers are just too useful to block off progression and for contraptions and being able to save space with spike traps would be so helpful.
I would put vines higher because they make it possible to hit the same question block an infinite number of times just by unloading and reloading it. This mechanic is used in all sorts of contraptions and should definitely be in 3D world.
hey odyssey, i have an idea for a video- you should make a video explaining every attribute you think our best boy dry bones would have in smash like spirits, taunts, and of course how he would play and control. then maybe nintendo will catch on and finally add him edit: i love the nerd face in every video btw the humor in your videos is better than ever
One thing I’d like to mention is that bridges and mushroom platforms could function so that they can’t let Cat Mario climb up them. 3D World doesn’t really have a semi solid platform like that other than clouds, and clouds can look pretty janky in some levels, as well as being a 1x1 tile so it makes sense that Cat Mario can’t really climb up them.
Erm Actually, goomba shoes appeared in 3d world inside of 3-1 as its first appearance! I can’t believe you’d lie to your audience- (Kloud Explodes) Odyssey: their actually goomba ski’s. I guess, but they only go on ice. So goomba shoes will have a Goomba ski style when placed on Ice.
There was a glitch early in smm2 that allowed you to put some 2d items in 3d world and 3d items in 2d worlds Spike blocks actually did work in 3d world and I think skewers also worked, they had the code and the blocks were already in the code all they had to do is make some textures. idk why they didn't add them
I think Bowser Junior has a good shot of making it into the 3D World Style due to his appearance in Bowsers Fury, where he was equipped with both the Clown Car and his Magic Paintbrush.
It isn't that simplistic, since there is very few things in smm1 that aren't in smm2, such as amiibos and 100 mario challenge. And that's basically it, meaning there are far more things to do. Still, they should have had more updates
I would honestly love these things in the 3d world style, but it might take away from some of the uniqueness of it. The limitations make it honestly really fun to play around with because it MAKES you be creative. If the normal styles got most of the 3d world items and the 3d world style got most of the normal items, it wouldn't really be a extra style that feels completely different as much as it would just be a normal style. Again some of these items would be nice like the spike blocks and other decoration options, I just want the 3d world style to still feel really unique from the other styles in Mario Maker 3.
As someone who rarely uses this style, the limitations within 3D world do more harm to it anything else. I simply have nuch more fun creating levels within the other styles due to the many more options available. Now I'm not saying everything from the styles should be added, as, like you said, would take away it's uniqueness. I saying what Nintendo should do for the Mario Maker 3 is find a good middle ground for uniqueness and more options for making your levels. (And add decent ways to decorate your level)
A style doesn't need to be unique. Having different permanent abilities and different visuals is enough distinction, really. That said, there are a very small number of things in 2D that wouldn't work very well in 3D, and vice versa. But the majority of the omissions are just stupid.
Frozen coins can be used for contraptions which can be triggered even when mario is far away, by simply sending one fire source on a track (instead of a shell travelling on global ground, which wastes ELA) Buzzy beetles are also immune to fire. They might have had troubles modelling tracks in a 3d engine. Not to say it's impossible though.
@@Odyssey_Central I was upset sorry don’t take it personal. I just have lots of attachment to galaxy, Mario odyssey is amazing lol I’ve 💯ed the game on each of my saves.
actually, there is a rideable item akin to yoshi and the goomba shoe in 3d world; the ice skate! granted, it'd probably be a lot more situational than the other two, but maybe it could be a snow theme alternative to a 3d world goomba shoe.
I will really like if in SMM3 they will create a Banzai bill blaster because the banzai bills are really useless because you can fire one of them at a time,so a banzai bill blaster will be useful for making banzai bill not trash
Did you know that Mario 3d world style has volcano theme Because when you select the castle, it shows you are outside bowser's castle That means it is the volcano theme
Interesting vid! I think it would help me and others to make a video on tips and tricks with note blocks. I am creating a super world and this info would help. Thanks!
I wish MM2 had something that was the inverse of the bumber allowing Mario to pass, but blocking enemies. Maybe it could just be a one way wall, for them only, with different graphics. This would get them to reverse their walking direction, and give you more control over enemy paths.
Honestly I can see stuff like a ! Block that triggers a certain event from happening such as activating a single bullet bill launcher or a skewer shot.
the buzzy beetle and spike top have another property: immune to fire flower, wich koopas and ant troopers aren’t plus the spike top has a faster blue variant
I’m getting Vietnam flashbacks when you said “bumper”. In the first Mario maker there was an impossible level filled with them and I always got them in campaigns
You forgot to mention wigglers are quite more dangerous underwater when angered because they can actually swim after you with high speed, so they should rather be one or two tier higher.
For mario maker 2 they should have added the builder toads from the story mode aswell as the stone block you can carry. Those would make good additional options for clear conditions
I hopefully still watch you when you hit 1 mill! I hope you hit it soon, even if you are at 110k now. I hope everyone looking at this will subscribe to you. I was subbed when you were at like 10k. I love your videos!
A critique on your notes for bridges and mushrooms: there is a difference, in 3D World. Semisolids can be climbed by a catsuit wearing player, while bridges wouldn't have that, and perhaps mushrooms would only have the one block, not only giving visual upgrades to levels, but mechanical upgrades to prevent cheese, or add alternate solutions
I did the glitch to glitch all these items show in the video into 3d world, and I was able to come up with creative level ideas for all of them, it's a shame they aren't usually in that style.
What I want most in SMM3 is a "Q-Switch" ("Quick P-Switch") That functions EXACTLY like a P Switch and activates P blocks, EXCEPT the time it lasts is twice as short (and the p-music that plays is twice as fast, to compensate). No more waiting.
I think it is also important to analyze why SM3DW isn't cross compatible with the older styles. The reason is that SM3DW is the first style with depth. The vast majority of the objects from the older styles wouldn't be problematic at all; in fact the only ones that would pose a problem are: 1) Tracks 2) Enemy stacking 3) Angry sun 4) MAYBE Chain Chomp 5) MAYBE one way wall With regards to enemy stacking, it wouldn't be a problem if it was limited to stacking enemies of the same size. But in the 2D styles, you can stack enemies with a variety of sizes, which would pose problems in SM3DW.
@@marqimoth6987 I think making a style that isn't cross compatible with the other styles was just a mistake to begin with. They should've added some 2D styles that aren't directly based off a certain game.
@@marqimoth6987 Being present in the source material shouldn't be a criterion on whether it should be in SMB3DW. But I guess they used this criterium because it kinda makes sense to the masses.
@@grrgrrgrr0202 but like, if they synced sledgebros and stuff like that with 2d styles, why did they not go the full way and add actual items from 3d world?
I have no idea when Super mario maker 3 will come. Does are the feature that I would like to see in Super Mario maker 3 Warp pipe that can also be place in main world, and not force into placeing it in the sub level, and would be considered a sepreate thing then the pipe that link main to sub level. To be able to created one way warp pipe, when you get out of it, you can't go back in, turning off the pipe on one side to be guarantee not to go back in even with kaizo jumping. Other feature would be after you turn off one side of the pipe, you turn it back on, to make enter the same pipe you got out, to end-up at a new place. Door that can connect main world, to sub world, and also warp box in the 3D world style. Being able to place a finish the level in a sub area. Pipe that just shot-out mario.
0:38 Do you mean the items that you COULDN’T care less about? Saying you could implies that you at least care about them a bit, which seems like the opposite of what you meant.
I'm not sure if the next Maker game would be a straight up upgrade to the previous one like SMM2 was. I'm expecting them to do something entirely different. My vote goes to an 'NES maker' that combines several nintendo properties. (SNES works too.)
1# angry sun and moon wouldn’t work in 3dw because when they dive down they would clip through the floor sometimes #2 goombrats could just be replaced by cat goombas like they replaced red bullet bills with cat bullet bills 3# why didn’t you mention galoombas form super mario world they where in the original 3dw 4# fire bars would also clip through the floor and walls just like the sun and moon
