Just wanted to say that I discovered your podcast the other week for the first time and have been listening non-stop. I just recently got into Bridgerton but have been obsessed with Colin and Penelope since ep 1 (before I even knew they were endgame). Y'all are awesome and I can't wait for the season!!

I like this characterization of Colin. My husband is a middle child and he has expressed to me how he didn't have much of any motivation when he was young. Like his older brother and younger sister were into sports while he was not and he felt out of place. So I see a lot of my husband in Colin. Also he is introverted so basically my husband is both Colin and Penelope if he was their son 😂

Where is forgot to mention the fact that Nic said they’d be back for season four

I know it was small promo but the pull in grab from NY station is soooo new girl nick n jess. Nic said that her most favorite kiss in tv show. So iconic and steamy.

I think the queen would react to finding Penelope out kinda like how George's mother talked to Lady Danbury in that one scene. Like, "I don't like you, but I acknowledge you as an equal and respect you. Not to mention that our arguments have been my favorite source of entertainment in years. Don't you dare give up now"

Have to tell you I discovered this podcast about 2-3 months ago and have binged the podcast. And have loved your takes on it. Hope you all will continue this and clown about future seasons.❤❤❤

I spent my morning watching funny penguin videos , and now I cant get the image out of my mind. Debling in a huge fur coat watching penguins fall over and slap each other while waddling around and Alfred just having the time of his life . I hope this strange regency mans dreams come true .

I'm surprised you didn't go into detail about Pen's entrance. The bts clip not only gave us Colin's reaction (love the emotional support lemonade lol) but it gave us a little more of Pen too. The way she gulps when she is asked for her robe, the way she nervously walks down the stairs with her hands by her sides and then that look (side-eye) she gives to Colin... it's scornful with a tinge of sadness and disappointment - Nicola played it to perfection! I probably noticed these details more because I've always appreciated Luke's subtlety but I'm looking closely at Nicola's performance this season.

I have to say, I think you guys have made me enjoy this new season to a crazy/ next level extent, and it's not even been released yet! Thanks so much for all your effort/ joy sharing with these podcasts ❤️

I'm here to say you were right and I was wrong. They trampled all over primogeniture with Alice's aunt bequeathing a royal title to Alice's son in her will and "Jack" (Portia in disguise) being able to transfer his title to any male he wants, even if he isn't a Featherington (Portia only has daughters). 22:30 There is a behind the scenes photo floating around of a little boy, dressed in period clothing and standing by a dressing room traiker. Finally, since thereis nowhere else to mention this..., some fans have pointed out that they omitted Felicity, the youngest Featherington sister, to whom book Pen is very close, so that Pen would have no allies within her own household/to create plot tension. Pics leaked from the set/filming of S3 revealed that the TV show will pay homage to book Felicity by including a version of her name ("Felicitatem") in the Featherington crest that is on the side of the family's carriage. I my mind, this also somewhat addresses discontinuity of Felicity's name not starting with a P as does all of her sisters' and her mother's, because it means "prosperity" which does start with a P... so I suppose that is something.

Okay…I just found you guys like a week ago and I am so glad because the anticipation for this season has been KILLING me…even listening to your super old episodes has made the last few days bearable! I have a theory about the red ball/carriage scene that I need to put down somewhere so here I am 😂😂👋🏻 After watching the clips a few times…I’m thinking Pen rejects Debling…like full on cannot take it her love for Colin will ruin her life and she’s now accepted that she actually CAN’T be with someone else because of it. She rushes out of the ball…she can’t face Debling OR Colin…but Colin sees this and rushes after her. He reaches her in her carriage and she is pissed that he followed her because she seriously needs some space but he’s all like “ What happened!?” And she frustratingly like micro-confesses that she loves him and can’t fake it… “ UGH I just can’t get you out of my head COLIN!!!” To which…because he’s been obsessing over her for days now but trying to contain it for her happiness he just kisses her in response…and then the carriage scene ensues 😂❤️😂❤️😂 I literally would DIE 😍😍😍 Okay…thank you for giving a safe place for my rambling 😂😂😂 2 more days!!!

your discussion of Cressida and her involvement with Ben/Sophie just sparked a theory in me...what if Cressida becomes the rival love interest? i have to preface this spiral by saying that all I know about Benedict's story is what I've heard through through this podcast as well as a handful of other youtubers so anything I say could very well be way out of line, but the moment this thought came crashing through a wall in my mind I felt the strong need to voice it. its just that to me it makes sense that if cressida has been thrown over in her pursuit of a husband by not one but two bridgertons by the time that season 4 comes about, she could then latch on to benedict as a form of revenge - and the thing is that on paper they would be a logical match, very much in a debling/pen kind of way. cressida is everything that sophie is not: rich, titled, accepted by society. hell, when jack featherington needed a benefactor he turned to the cowpers. cressida strikes me as a near perfect foil to sophie, and using her would also save the the showrunners the casting of an entirely new actor (tho that really hasn't been an issue for them so this likely is just my broke post-grad logic talking) also, it would 100% fit with your prediction that she could be the person to help ben/sophie in the end. as someone who has been stagnant in the mindset of chasing after potential suitors, it would be so satisfying to see her initially continue this pattern with benedict only to change course and let him go, going so far as to help him get the girl. wouldn't it be such an refreshing take on the show's rival love interest to have them become an ally to our bridgerton lead and ultimately help them find love rather than fading into the background after they have been snubbed? that and it just makes sense for who cressida has been up to this point - to do what she likely fails in doing for season 3 and (as you've mentioned) soften herself, finally releasing her grip on the prospect of marriage after holding on so tightly that it slips right through her fingers. perhaps by letting benedict go she would even find the person she is meant to marry... who knows? ugh sorry for this tirade i went on, and on a polin podcast no less, but i had to. the love you have shown these characters has really rubbed off on me so i felt compelled to emerge from my trash bin and share my thoughts on this matter. hopefully they are entertaining at the very least lol

In the book its mentioned how Violet is trying to get Penn and Colin together because they remind her of her and Edmun. As she was also a wallflower and Colin is considered the catch of the season just like his father was. She knows whats up.

35:23 I took the ‘Moral question’ part to mean that she won’t want to get together with him because of LW. The ‘It’s not fair to him’ but sounds like it could be a line Pen says, maybe to Gen, about why she can’t let herself be with him.
