Highly suggest you react to Dusty Springfield's "Can I get a witness" a lot of UK Artists were influenced by soul and RnB from the states especially Motown. There's even a genre in the UK That's called "Northern Soul"
I am a year late to this reaction but I just wanted to say: at the 3:00 mark Half ponders if Tom Jones resembles an actor. I always thought Tom looked a bit like Bert Convy who was an actor, singer and game show host in the 70's and 80's. He tragically passed from a brain tumor in 1991 (at 57 years old).

Tom was good. Janis was in another league altogether. Her biggest influence was Otis Redding. At the peak of her short reign, she was unbeatable. I hope she is singing with Otis, wherever they are now.

I'll bet you anything it was all freestyle dance it was more about the singing and not the choreography. Oh and to the comment about the actor, Tom Jones was an international Superstar so it would be more like the actor looked like Tom Jones not the other way around... Just saying! I was a young teen when the show is on, my mom watched it religiously ⛪! Tom Jones was considered a big sex symbol and his dancing and mannerisms were pretty racy 4 back then!
