I continue to find amazing late 2nd generation Toyota Tundra trucks on the lot. This one may be the best find yet. Whats your thoughts on this Limited built like a TRD Pro?

Glad I got mine! Literally looks the exact same but it’s all blacked out instead of whited out. It’s only an sr5 and 40k more miles (who cares? They last forever when maintained) BUT HALF the price.

I did the same thing to my 2020 SR5 TRD off road DC. TRD PRO grille, TRD skid plate, Billstein 5100 shocks 1/12" lift in front ,1" lift in rear ,TRD Rear anti sway bar, Ranch Hand grille Guard , Drivers side grab handle "a must have" of corse. An ARE cap. The next mod. will be a Ranch Hand rear bumper. I will be keeping my 2020 Tundra for ever !!

Gota get rid of that cap and then it will look awesome. Getting rid of a 2nd generation tundra off of lease to get a 3rd gen,I’m afraid he’s getting rid of a gem and could be buying trouble. At least till toyota gets the main bearing problem rectified! For someone buying that 2nd gen tundra likely making the best decision ever! Smart choice!

If I were to look for a 1st gen Thndra, what common issues would I need to be aware of? I have seen some excellent examples in Las Vegas and I want an off-road rig again but as a second vehicle. Offroad vehicles just are not good daily drivers lol gets expensive quick. Maybe a second gen from 2010-13 as well! I know I want crewmax, color doesn’t matter much, and probably should go with softex/leather. Any tips would help!

Beautiful truck, I love the double cap, a perfect truck for work, or personal used, if you add 3” in the front, and 2” in the rear with some nice tires, you are set.

Love the 5.7 V8 videos, does it make sense to buy a used Tundra in the rust belt? How much luck have you had working the dealership off these prices. What would you have offered for this truck?
@TundraDude34

As long as you check under the truck, or have a mechanic give the truck a once over, i think its not an issue to buy up here. Each trucks situation is different. It seems like dealers around me are back to making deals. The last few years, it was pretty much whatever the sticker says is what the price is, so its good to see some negotiating again.

If this truck was so good, people won't change them for the new ones, you have to be realistic. People would never have asked for a change. Everyone complained that these trucks were dinosaurs using impressive amounts of fuel

"Building" any vehicle to look like a higher level trim is a bad idea. You'll spend a lot of money, and in many cases, devalue the vehicle in the eyes of future buyers. People value a factory, unmodified vehicle. They devalue a modified vehicle. Yes, the TRD Pro double exhaust might sound like a it would add value, but it would in fact devalue the vehicle. Why? Because a future buyer will not know if the install was accomplished properly. Yes, painting the rails black might make the look better, but will the paint stand the test of time? Probably not. If you want your truck to look like a TRD Pro, buy a TRD Pro. If you want you TRD Pro look-alike to retain it's value, don't turn it into a look-alike. Forgive the derogatory term, but a look-alike vehicle is nothing more than a poser.

I say let the owner build and modify how ever they want. To each, their own
@RedondoBeach2
@RedondoBeach2 Месяц назад
@@TundraDude34 You're making a separate point. When a person owns a vehicle they're certainly free to modify it. The point I make is that for resale purposes it's a bad idea. Think of how much money the owner of the Tundra Limited spent on their modifications and how much they got for the truck as a trade in, in order for the dealership to offer it at the price shown on the sticker. The owner sunk a lot of money into mods and ultimately the dealer likely offered them a lot less for the vehicle because it was modified. Modifications are almost always a bad idea. Always better to just buy the higher trim level. Kelly Blue Book (KBB) will value a vehicle based on what the VIN number indicates the vehicle is equipped with from the factory. KBB and future buyers of that vehicle can care less how much a prior owner sank into a vehicle on the cost of mods. Moreover, they'll want to pay less if for example they do install a different exhaust system. This mod alone will call into question: 1) was something wrong with the original exhaust; 2) is the new exhaust installed properly and will is stand the test of time; 3) although it passed inspection for it to be offered for sale, will I have the same good fortune of having it pass inspection in a couple years or will it suddenly become a nightmare to figure out what trickery was used to get an aftermarket exhaust to pass inspection when I purchased the vehicle. A more extreme example of my point is the idiots who turn their cars into "stance cars", the most wildly stupid and costly modification I can think of. A lot of money put into destroying a car. Do those morons hope to sell their cars for a profit because of all of the money sunk into making modifications for their car? Their mods make their cars essentially worth scrap metal. Granted, that's not what's happening with the Limited in this video, but to a lesser degree mods do lessen its value.
