Babymetal started in 2010 when Su-metal was 12, and Yuimetal and Moametal were 11. Su-metal is currently 26, Moametal is 24 (soon to be 25) and Momometal (who is the new member) is 21. The hand sign they do all the time is the "Fox Sign". In Babymetal lore, they are the champions of the fox god Kitsune-sama, the god of metal, who chose them to save metal from the tyranny of the idols. In reality, when Babymetal started, the girls didn't know anything about metal, and when they were shown the metal horns, they thought it was a fox from shadowplay and started doing that instead. Their manager Kobametal saw that and though it was interesting, so he incorporated fox elements into the groups story and imagery. Foxes are very important creatures in Japanese culture, having significance in the Shinto religion as messengers of the god Inari, and in folklore as yokai (creatures believed to posses supernatural powers). To this day you will see fox imagery in their merchandise designs, and you will see them doing the Fox Sign in their choreography and in promotional photo shoots. At Babymetal shows, fans make the Fox Sign instead of the metal horns.

This not a feature song, it's a 50/50 colaboration between Electric Callboy and Babymetal. As for their ages Momo is 21, Moa will be 25 in a couple weeks, and Su is 26. Babymetal formed in 2010 when Su was 12 and Moa and Yui were 11. Su singing, Momo growling, Moa kawaiiing, what more could we ask for :). Electric Callboy did a reaction to people recating to this video and commented how they goof off a lot but have professional people behind the scenes. Then they met Babymetal and learned what PROFESSIONAL meant.

for me it sounds like a legit EC song, with chorus sang by Babymetal 😅

Subscribed. 👍👍 This performance looks and sounds awesome. A true 50-50 collab. The 2 bands dancing together. The Kamis killed it. The devil horns, a nice touch. Two amazing bands, one awesome performance. They are a perpetual smile generator.😁😁😁 Great reaction. Welcome to the foxhole. 🦊 🖖❤ BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) Babymetal - Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs MAYA【Live Blu-ray/DVD「BABYMETAL BEGINS - THE OTHER ONE -」"BLACK NIGHT"】

Thank you!! If you put two perpetual smile generators together, they leave you with an eternal smile for sure. Every time this song comes on, I can't help but grin ear-to-ear haha. We'll have to give some of these other ones a peek!

Su-Metal said in an interview that they were working on a new song that was inspired by "EC's "We Got the Moves" and they felt something was missing, so they decided to ask EC in person if they would like to collaborate.

Haha, that's an awesome tidbit! It's cool to see that EC inspired that style of song from Babymetal, and that they were just like "ah screw it, let's just ask them ourselves." I'm excited to see what the future holds if bands keep branching out like this

To your point about the professionalism of Japanese vs EC, I kinda wonder if that's what the start of the video is parodying/referencing about how the "boardroom discussions" between Electric Callboy and the Babymetal management team went.

Another commenter mentioned about the visuals representing the two bands breaking down the barriers of genres (and physically, with the wall 😅) and their lack of care for corporate decisions and just wanting to do what they want (which we're all here for!) I think you're on the right track!

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Do you know your favorite BILMURI was invited to the festival curated / organized by BABYMETAL and performed there last month in Japan. They did great. (Johnny Franck talked about it in RU-vid) I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (and group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!) ★ You can find the official LIVE video in RU-vid !! The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. Now the 3 girls and 2 boys are doing this song with EC band in EC shows and with Kami Band in BM shows, in two ways, in some European festivals 💛。 (Just FYI, BABYMETAL also performed "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing.)

We definitely need to check out the live show MV of RATATATA at some point! But dear gosh, BM and Polyphia playing together sounds like a hell of a time!

Great "first" reaction.🦊Yes you will see foxes everywhere whenever you see BABYMETAL. Both bands formed in 2010. Electric Callboy are great musicians, but as you clearly know they like to have fun and inject some humour into what they do. BABYMETAL are the best live entertainment of any kind that I've had the privilege to experience in person. You won't have seen or heard anything quite like them, they pioneered their own metal sub-genre fusing metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics (including introducing choreographed dance to metal) and they are both original and unique. BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last - some are good hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. Pick any song, you can't go wrong. Jake Muller has left you an great list of songs you could choose from.

Thank you so much Grington! I definitely want to show Petunia some of the live songs because I do agree they put on a great show (although, I haven't been able to make it to one D: ) Thanks for the kind words!

Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥 It's always nice to see more reactors getting into this amazing group, they're a global phenomenon from Japan and trust me you have seen nothing yet. Here's a brief info about this amazing group: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24, next month is her birthday. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher. If you like Jpop and edm elements then you're gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this insane group. This single just reached Number 1 US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! Last weekend of May they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab, the live version is already out if you don't wanna stop enjoying this song. Last weekend they played this together once again at Rock Am Ring and the day before at Rock Im Park in Germany twice in the same day, one during EC show and later at BM show. After that they played this song in Amsterdam but without EC on stage. Yesterday was Greenfield Festival turn to have fun and next is coming Download Festival with probably both on the same stage once again. The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath. Just like you notice they're doing the fox sign, this is related to BM lore, the Fox God is one of the metal god that guides them to spread the metal sound in this world, they got plenty of imageries on several live concerts showing foxes. The fox sign was created by the girls when playing animal shadow on the wall. Btw you can see the teaser of this song when the Japanese actor mention the Fox God. About this song: This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions, the office with the suits workers and the Japanese boss kinda represent that. The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference. The "Fu Fu" part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's probably used way back before in more songs as well karaoke theme. The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements. The moment when they're bursting the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said. Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown it could be a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie. When I heard the official audio I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although later fans spotted in the live performance, so it was her after all as well in the third chorus when singing "Everybody". There's probably more references but I'm a little bit far away from pop culture nowadays that I'm probably missing a lot more. Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment and later at their own reaction video that they did the bursting the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more. The crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song. They met each other last year when BM went to see EC live in Boston and they asked them to work together, this is a 50/50 collab song. Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015). I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more proshot clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it. See you next time 🦊🤘🐭
