@@DiogenesOfCa it does.. But supposedly I can turn it off. And I rather have private companies track me for using their products than government agencies do it because they feel like it.
I love you a California but this is a STUPID FUCKING IDEA.This means every Fender bender would leave people without license plate due to its fragility. And they also said TRACKING! So you think there aren’t any cops who are not currently abusing there power by harassing the Z girlfriends or anything like that? Geeze Calii wtf
Exactly a tablet or any electronic is going to melt under a fire or extreme temperature, unlike medal plates. Medal might be discolored, but way high chances of be identifiable. Not to mention we are talking about one of the most destructive states. Next on the news ' valdalized electronic License plates." You want a tracking device go buy one and hide it in your car.
So what's to stop a car thief from bashing the digital plate before stealing the car? Or what about if you're in an accident and your digital plate gets fucked up in the process? I'll stick with the metal plates. Hard pass.
Good question there are a lot of fender benders . It being digital is it a one time fee if it is involved in an accident ? Or another fee to replace the expensive tracking device ? I can imagine the hassle in other states not recognizing the plates aswell
It's a better idea to have digital license plate in all 50 states. We will save tons of tones of metals. And cars will be much cheaper than it is today.
@@ihateconspiracytheories5270 🤦♂️ instead there will be more waste since electronics don’t have as long of a life span as a sheet of metal. Think about it. It’s a subscription service on top of your registration bill. It’s a money grab .
All this tracking everyone. socialism is heading to the one world global system. Agenda 2030. This is where its heading. Just like the e cars and e bikes . they are being tracked where they travel and how far .
Wait... Your telling me that I need to pay at minimum $215 a year on top of the registration fee which is about another $200+? Why would I want to waste another $215 a year then when my metal one works just fine and is FREE? I have my registration mailed to me and I pay for it online. I dont even need to set foot in a DMV any way Talk about a waste of money
They dont tell people about the real reason behind this digital plates. They dont want people to know about the sicial credit scoring system . Facial reconition . ect... Just look at what China is doing with 20 camera's on every street corner. Hears what they say ect...
@@alexandertorro At least in China the government doesn't make you pay for your own oppression. It's all a free package over there. Here, you have to pay for the boot on your face and watch a 15 second ad between stompings.
@@Zivety They'll do the opposite in America. They'll first make it seem "exclusive" and price it high, and make their celebrity puppets use them. Status seeking types who make 6-8 figures will immediately follow, then over a few years the remaining stinking cattle fall in line. Somewhere along this, it goes from "luxury" to "optional" to "mandatory."
But you don't have to bother putting on a sticker. That must feel like a HUGE advantage for certain people. An option today, but I am sure soon mandatory. Sheep likes to be taken care of.
@@vgm006 I was just kidding. Of course this whole digital thing is a bunch of BS. Probably for people who think smartphones makes them smart and solving any kind of problems is just downloading an app. I feel sorry for them. Apparently they can't even put a sticker on and cheering for this. I am sure you agree, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. 😸
I digital license plate would be like a gps tracker that will record everywhere you’ve driven to. If you do any traffic infractions you’ll probably receive a ticket in the mail and if law enforcement is looking for anyone they’ll probably know where there car is at all times
It might aswell display your credit card and bank account numbers. Nobody will steal it. Lol🤣. These politicians need to take a qualifications test in order to work in making state mandate rules. Cuz alot of them don't even have common sense.
@@bryan4723 People are fighting back. Notice all the pushback the Democrats are having? They are going to loose big time. People are tired of their ideology, 1. Transgender rights, 2. Killing Babies 3. Harboring Illegal immigrants The list goes on and on and on. They want to do all of that paid for by the taxpayer. While Americans struggle and ask for help, they continue to give free money to others who are not Citizens and want to Mutilate their body parts to "Become A Woman" House and feed as well as Medical care for Illegal Immigrants, while we have a homeless situation over flowing in America? Kill babies from mothers in other States who can't have an Abortion in their State paid by Me and taxpayers alike without our consent or at least vote upon it? As well as being so Anti Seconds Amendment for the good citizens while the criminals run around killing us. Hell fooken no. Those Dems must go. I used to vote Democrats. But never again. They have become a very Evil entity. Don't fall for those COVID funds they gave you. Those came from the 700,000,000+ elderly who died from Covid and lost their pension and Social Security back to the Government's Pockets and Pockets of Private Corporation's who get to keep those funds when someone passes. That is where all those COVID funds came from. They gave us 000.1 % of what they got to keep from the dead. Don't be fooled.
I wonder how much of campaign contribution each state lawmaker and governor have received from this "lone company" making these digital plates? And I wonder how long will it take for this dystopian state to make this digital plates "mandatory".
I like how this was legalized, but a clear license plate cover to protect me from getting my tags stolen is illegal, I got a ticket from a cop stating that I would not be able to read my license plate from 15 feet away. I would like for them to explain how I could read a digital one from 15 feet away.
Hackers are ready for this new challenge 😂 -Control the digits to avoid toll/police -Track individuals in Cali -Leave a prank msg …. the possibilities lol
its used for tracking where everyone travels , That figures. ,, He uses the stolen theory as an excuse. Its not used for stolen vehicles , Its for socialism .,
Remember the tax-as-you-drive scheme they considered a couple of years ago? Guess what will suddenly be revived… … I’ll keep my regular plates, thank you very much.
That sounds cool and all, but what if the thief steals the plate? If it’s battery operated or wired? It’s simple to take and leaving it in the ground so they think it’s at your property even tho the car is gone.
Can we just make plates barcodes? Like I feel like that would be much nicer to be able to display whatever type of plate you desire and all you need to do is have a state assigned barcode that can be scanned.... Idk my state kind of has something like that but it's only for classic cars and collector vehicles for display purposes....
Nice idea but the issue would arise if someone is involved in a hit and run or shooting you can’t give the cops the plate number can you? U less you pull your phone and snap a pic, and it would not be visible to the average security camera
@@kennethkristiansen6958 I mean yes and no? you could give them the number on the plate and describe how it looks but id be relaying off traffic light cameras more then anything. never said it was prefect plates aren't prefect in a number of ways but im more thinking of an alternative way to do plates while giving complete creative freedom to the owner without going 1984. I mean if we wanted 100% safety we would forces everyone to put trackers on there cars with panic mode for the owner to alarm when its stolen. personally I don't want that but I get the augment for it. if you want the most stealthy plate just use your state assigned one or one like it ngl if you want one to avoid tolls put a reflective coating on it or get a custom one like "o00oo" maybe both if your that try hard. ether way I based this mostly on my states rules for classic plates. If you have an older plate for your car and its 25 years old you can submit a classic plate application and they will let you run the plate and send you a sticker for the cop to scan if he pulls you over.
What happen if you live in a state that has two license plates and you are driving on the road and there's a car in front of you and then a stone flies out from that car's tire and hits your tablet license plate so the screen will crack and break
Lets be real. These are going to be tracking devices to track your speed and to track yoru milage so that you can charge their planned tax by the mile fee.
You can enable developer options and turn off all sensors in the quick access panel with a toggle. Unless of course you have an Apple device. And/or use a Faraday container.
HELL NO. The fact that the reporters are putting it on blast about how amazing it is and not raising the obvious concerns is what really worries me. We should do a credibility check on these, "reporters".
They forgot to mention the fees that are affiliated with the digital plates that brings the cost way up north. We Californians pay a lot on registration as is. I paid $200.00 to register my 15yr old car after smog if I go with digital plates and I am not my cost to register one of my cars will be more than double. This digital plates is a total scam and ridiculous $$$$$$.
Disable the tracker and I see this as a win. Hack it so you display soemthing different and if you can avoid them finding out you did this. Free tolls, speed cams etc (just don’t speed in school zones)
Telling the public that the vehicle can be tracked with that license plate is a mistake that should be kept secret , now thieves will know this and when they steal a car they will just remove the plate , and about the privacy concern i dont think the dmv or police will be tracking you all the time , just when a car is reported stolen , if i am not a criminal or have something to hide from the police or gov i wouldnt mind having license plate that can track me , it would make me feel safer
no thanks and pay monthly fee on top of registration? Great more use of battery where the metal on the license plate is at least recyclable. I haven't stepped into a DMV for years except for the "Real ID" mandate.
Does anyone in these positions of government regulations or automotive regulations recall that years ago FOBS were incorporated into the cars to prevent car thefts? Vice already talked about that with Michael K Williams(R.I.P.) in Newark N.J.
So cops can easily find you, it can be hacked, it can easily break, people can change what my plate says, and it's expensive.. What do I get? OH I don't need to go to the DMV?THANKS, perfect deal I'm sold!
$215 per year... so you don't have to go to the DMV? I don't understand how this idea made it out of committee. I live in Texas. Once a year: 1) I get my car inspected (takes less than 10 minutes & is $15) 2) I show the inspector proof of insurance 3) The inspection results automatically electronically transfers to the DMV 4) I fill out a quick online form, pay $65 5) I print the temporary registration 6) The sticker arrives in the mail ~7 days later ~$80 dollars and 20 minutes... and I don't have to go to the DMV either
