You know Nicky you see 1000 videos and there is ONE that was actually worth while watching. .... well today this was this video for me. Great arrangement, good band , beautiful video quality and setting and above all FANTASTIC vocal performance ! The brothers would be proud ;)

Individually you guys are so Talented, superb!. But as for this cover song, there are so many things happening, Some instruments is overplayed, It's like an exhibition playing that sometimes it don't compliment anymore as a whole, it's like "Hey I can do this, I can do that too", Sometimes you can see the real intention of musicians when they play. Kudos to the strings part, they compliment the song very well. I love Nicki's voice!

Gee, just because the multitude of other drummers who have played this song didn't have either the chops, the vision, or the daring to develop such a musically sophisticated drum part, that doesn't necessarily make Mr. Schmitt wrong. He is obviously using a different set of aesthetics than a traditional "pocket/groove" drummer (though he's certainly establishing a groove and a pocket). His tempo is solid and he's supporting the song with a dynamo of creative rhythmic patterns that, to my ears, are always musical and in service to the band's performance of the song. More power to him.

Great song, amazing players! I think the drums should have been less in the front, as Damien already makes it really full. Plus I admit I don't really like the reverb it has in the mix, doesn't play that well with the rest. With maybe less compression, even burying some of the ghost notes into the mix, and a less wooden-kind-of-space, that would have been perfect for my ears!

Damien's ego is out of control. He actually put out a vid and labeled it "Funkiest drummer!" He played in Jean Luc Ponty's band and ruined Jean Luc's spectacular arrangements and score. Does Damien have chops? of course. Are they warranted? 98% of the time no. Damien needs to really study, very hard, Vinnie's playing on Niki's version of Black Or White. Now that's world class drumming by the master. Put your ego aside and learn something Damien.

IMO At least one background vocal would make it sound fuller vocally. Singer is fantastic. Her mix was a little dry though. Great arrangement and players.

Then Piano kicking in, Alicia Keys Improvising on One Concert Grand Piano. To hear dark rich chords. As well as singing with Gwen and Camila. Singing in a fugue or round, embrace the clashing chords, unleashing differences in Dynamics plus singing slightly off the beat. So playing/singing with the dissonances, changing of keys, with unexpected dynamics/accents THEN the trio sings as one, turning to amazing consonant chords, back on beat, same key, without displaced accents and dynamics.

This song is basically one long drum feature. I mean, the drummer has amazing chops... he just doesn't know how to serve the music.

DAMIEN IS NOT A MUSICIAN. He's a egotistical fool where he feels he supersedes the intent of the song. Hey everyone look and listen to me. Vinnie absolutely blows him away on his outro solo on Nikki's version of Black and White. He schools Damien, but Damien is like that kid in the back of the class who would rather clown than learn. He ruined this song.
