Goldbridge is fuming with the Premier League and how it's falling off as Burnley and Luton get relegated and another season of Man City winning the league looks inevitable. Get your comments in below.
For those commenting without watching all of the video. I know last season all teams stayed up. But the fall off this season is discussed both in the league and in the Cup. There's definitely a change. And you'll see it next season as well. The Gap is getting bigger
Gap wasn’t big when burnley played us off the park 😂. Again you using a anomaly season as a measuring stick to suit your agenda is the most bias thing I ever hear.
Yeah i just sort of feel empty when man city win. like not bad or good. just empty. I want Arsenal to win for the premier league but personally i dont care. glad it wasnt liverpool though
Not really. ManU spent money but the backbone of the team was their own kids. It all started when a Russian crook took over Chelsea. It has been all about money since then.
@@blitzkriegsebastianthat's not a Chelsea issue. That's how the world works. Money is injected into anything that peaks the interest of a wide reaching audience. And football has one of the biggest audience. What did you think those with money to invest were gonna do? Not invest?
@@blitzkriegsebastian How many times did United break the transfer record under Fergie? How many times did Chelsea break it under Jose Mourinho, or Ancelotti, or Gus Hiddink?
It just screams “I’m mad at my own club but let’s just deflect onto everyone else”. Like when a child is in a bad mood because he’s broke his favourite toy so his parents go make his favourite meal to cheer him up but says “no I don’t want it I’ve never liked it!”
The last four league title races have gone to the last month of the season accept four years ago when Liverpool won it by a landslide and took a title of city.Mark just loves to take things out of context and complain.
Look it's embarrassing enough being a United fan right now! But we are not claiming Goldbridge! I know he is afraid of losing money but he needs to COME OUT as the Liverpool fan he is! We are not claiming IT' .
@@JasmineUtd Liverpool and Kloop if they worked on getting better as much as complaining and making excuses because City are so good at least you could call them good losers.
Every Goldbridge moan basically comes down to the fact that he tweeted a few weeks ago that it was impossible United finished lower than 6th and now they could beat Arsenal tomorrow and still be 8th.
He had a rant about it on his latest watch along video which lasted about 15 minutes, and he thought it was hilarious. He just likes smelling his own farts
Yeah, if City win the title every year going to down the final day or final but one day, that's not a 1 team league. That's a really close and exciting league, where one team have managed to get across the line more often.
Using City's excellence should not be an excuse but a motivation for clubs to get better! Look at Arsenal not complaining but steadily getting better! It should be a great title race next year! More teams like Arsenal .Mark your agenda against City is boring! As a Manchester United fan City set the bar and the premier league will be better for them.
Dont you think the premiere league was the same in the 90s and 2000s? most people predicted united to win the league every season and they did most times
It's changed mate, back then money was not quite so significant, of course it mattered but other clubs could still compete, who can compete with an oil nation ?? I can remember when Ipswich were promoted from the old Div2 to Div1 in season 1960/61 they won the Div1 title the next year 61/62, they won't be able to do that now no matter how good the manager and his tactics because they won't be able to compete financially and it's that which is killing the competition in the league, Mark is right on that and he's not wrong on the gulf between championship and premiership, VAR and our club performances in Europe either.
@@drain_atorActing like 80 million was peanuts back then 😂. United broke multiple transfer records, so this whole narrative about Man City spending money is not valid.
@@drain_atorU really don't know how much Fergie spent do you? Was Your made of homegrown talent like Barca, Make it make sence mate , both eras are same
@@drain_atorYou have never heard of inflation, have you? Plus United have spent more money than anyone since 2018. Your club is run poorly, all you can do is come up with excuses.
Theres nothing wrong with the EPL Mark, Ive enjoyed it. You just hate Manchester City, you weren't saying the league was boring when United were winning it every year.
Absolutely, it’s not like all 3 promoted teams next season can’t do the same as Fulham, Bournemouth and Forest did last season. It has been a dreadful season for the Prem but all 3 promoted sides being relegated has only ever happened once before (97-98 I believe) so the chances are that much like the 97-98 PL season, this season might just be an anomaly. Fingers crossed the likes of Ipswich, Leicester and whoever joins them can compete better than Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United
The fact that people have stopped talking about City's cheating is upsetting. They aren't "too good", in fact they wouldn't even be in a title race this season if it wasn't for poor officiating, also cannot forget points that arsenal and liverpool are owed from this. Officiating issues being solved would also solve the whole dominant force thing. it's disgusting and just sad that people are forgetting how city have got to the top of the league this season
I was going to say I wonder if he thought it was boring when United were winning 3 in a row or every other season but, he was supporting Forest at that point. It was only when United started to decline he was like a cash cow milking money on Uniteds name.
Start of the season city is fourth and doing bad : well the prem this year is competitive best league in the world city put in the work and dominate as usual : BOring prem farmers league your problem is obviously not the prem you dont care ,your only concern is man city falling
Does Goldbridge realize that these are adults playing in professional leagues? You stay up on your merits and you win if you play the best. It is like he wants the league to be run like a local YMCA u-5 league where the score doesn't count. This is an adult complaining about the results of professionals playing a sport. Boring is Goldbridge's rant.
Mark- its not fair that city always win theyre too good no one can stop them Also mark- only one man city player is good enough for a team of the season This guys bias is the most out of control out of any content creator
This narrative is bogus, the three promoted team last season stayed up and stayed up again this season. These three were just uniquely bad, Leicester and Leeds (if they go up via play-offs) will put up much more of a fight. Ipswich will be another scrappy underdog like Luton though.
@@natural6926 it will only be boring if promoted teams go down and city win again and tbh it’s looking likely that will happen the gap between the prem and championship gets bigger each year
Branding the whole league as boring because of one year is wrong. Last year, City won the UCL, West Ham won the Conference League and a Premier League champions Leicester were relegated with Leeds who were in the league for 3 seasons and Southampton who were in it for more. It's a season-by-season basis. Some good points though especially with injures
Its funny how most weeks Man City make anyone they play look like a league 1 team. Even Arsenal had to defend for their lives to get a draw against them.
The Burnley lesson is if you want to come up to PL and have a chance of staying you need to have a style that will work in the PL, which means one that prioritizes being strong and committed defensively and spend on the kind of player who will score 10+ goals. The minutes, injuries, and Europe are all interrelated. There has to be a winter break. The season should also start later after summer tournaments. For the officials, they need to start recruiting the best refs from around Europe
But if it was reversed, and arsenal dropped points, for city to win, you'd be just as mad, like with what happened last year with the final few games.. And the season before with the villa game with city losing with 30 mins left, you need to just admit you don't like city winning, it's nothing to do with the prem being boring.
Appreciate this video Mark, you'll get a bunch of crap for it and it's uncalled for. Your points are valid and I'm a newer fan to football and I see these same problems the more I pay closer attention to them that you brought up. Unfortunately I don't see much changing and football is the biggest sport in the world so I don't think the PL will care about "trying to get new fans" so... Hopefully, you with highest potential to be the beacon of resistance to make the league less boring can help move it in a direction it needs to go.
If you don't like football Mark, just say it. Prem isn't boring, some great fights for relegation and European spots, it's still not over yet for the league title either. Go do watch-alongs for the championship if you think that's the more interesting league
How do they deserve it when Liverpool dropped points due to poor referee decisions in key games? Nobody is talking about it and everyone’s up city’s hole
The problem is teams like Fulham & Crystal Palace is, just stay mid-table, they can never push on. The risk is to great. Just look at Palace when they tried to change the style of play with de Boer. Vieria was gone at the first hint of relegation. But they never go for a trophy like the FA cup either.
Every top league has a team that will dominate at one point weather its in the UK, German, Italy, France, Spain that fact remains its always the rival fans that have something to say and I'm not surprise his speaking out
As an Ipswich fan I've seen my team get back to back promotions from League One into the Premier League and we managed to be one of the best teams in the Championship, but I think the Premier League will be alot harder.
Mark I would add the amount of money fans are expected to pay to have access all available broadcasted premier league games, especially given the fact that as you pointed out half of them are not broadcasted because of the 3pm blackout. Disgraceful!
The relegation battle this season only existed due to points deductions and if Forest and Everton hadn't had them, Luton/Burnley/Sheff Utd would have been relegated months ago
A united fan complaining about City having 6/7 is the joke United had 8/10 from the stretch of 92/93 to 02/03 (And dont even chat about it being "more competitive" the average points gap to second in those 8 titles was 6 I believe and only once did a team come within 4 points of them at the end of the season and that was Arsenal in 98/99 only finishing a point behind)
Sadly as long as the money keeps on flowing in via foreign licensing deals (which are at record highs) the PL simply won't care about any of the problems listed
honestly Goldbridge never stops going on about this, even though half the teams in the Championship have been in the Prem. The same teams going up and down hardly ever happens, and despite the City dominance, there's been quite a bit of variation in the top four as well over the last few years.
This season (2024) Liverpool have won the carabao cup and we had a championship club about an inch away from an FA cup final. Last season (2023) a prem club brought the UCL to Europe and all three relegated clubs stayed up. The season before last (2022) Liverpool were on for a Quad and bottled their UCL final and took the prem down to the last day. The season before that (2021) Chelsea won the Champions League in an all English final and Leicester won the FA cup, Man Utd also lost on penalties in the UEL final. The season (2020) before that Liverpool won their first title in 30 years and Arsenal managed a miraculous FA cup. The season before that (2019) we had an all English European final in both competitions, and a first UCL final for Spurs. The Premier League isn’t boring just because United are rubbish and the team you don’t like is dominating, it’s only boring in the sense that City keep winning (which no United claimed was boring when they went 6 for 8). In fact the title race in the prem hasn’t been the most exciting in a while for anyone who watches European football, the Serie A has been for a few years now, since Juve dominance came to an end. So the points you’ve said here and for a while aren’t really true
Let's just ignore that ALL 3 promoted teams stayed up last season Let's just ignore that 2 teams are still in the title race with two games left And let's just ignore that 2-3 financial juggernauts are under threat of not playing european football next season Apart from that, yeah I guess it's boring...*sigh*
It isn’t simply the bottom lacking in competitive balance I say…The middle teams are rarely competitive with the top as well..Teams like Palace or the Wolves are simply there, not being relegated or playing for anything meaningful…They simply exist, never changing or giving their paying supporters any reason to feel great…
How does the premier league solve all these problems without fabricating everything ? This is the natural way of how things are going currently and the PL should just let it be, you cannot ask City to be less brilliant because you want to make the PL more interesting, you can't ask PL teams to lose to the newly promoted teams just to make the league more interesting that's unfair
Here we go again. Come on Will do these. No its not boring. Its upto teams to recruit better and spend the millions they have more efficiently. It was the same when Liverpool and United dominated. As for the relegated teams its hard because the quality in established sides have so much more than the championship sides
While I still don't believe that you can buy a title, you can certainly buy a place in the Premiership, money is the difference, and unless someone does something to cap player wages and the ludicrous transfer fee's then nothing is ever going to change.
Leicester won’t go down. Last season all their starters were injured and they had points deducted as well. Last season we also had the closest relegation battle which went down to the very last day. Leicester were also a european side for the past 4 seasons before getting relegated. They finished 5th 5th 8th and 18th, they won’t get relegated except they get more points deduction again
