people forget they had the Stanley Cup on Display during 2020 Cup Final.. TB/Dal. it was high above, suspended over the rink.. lol but that was during Pandemic, played in a Bubble.. soo kind of an anomaly!
great job pointing out first thing after an Oilers loss in game 1 shutout is that the building wasn't the loudest... really enjoy the podcast but thats pretty disappointing and poor form. One more reason to want Florida to win is Elliotte having to find good things to say about them.
Bobrovsky It was the 2nd thing he said and also 1st thing Marek said and Friedman went on to say you could've played to 4am and not have scored and the title of the video so relax
Hey team, I'm really glad I am able to listen to these posts after each playoff games. Thanks! ps I agree with Jeff. It would be awesome if fans who attend each game of the final series were able to see the trophy on display throughout every game. Pleanty of pageantry can still take place from the display to the ice after the last game is played.
The way they can beat Bobrovsky is the screen with one guy top of crease, and another in the low slot. Offset them, they each draw a defender, and you thread point shots in, trying for a tip, or to find the net. Bob is too good to let a shot in that he can see. You can only blind him and try n
"How dominant Edmonton was"? You Canadian media types just don't get it. Florida-style hockey (Tampa Bay and Florida) doesn't mean you need to have more shots on goal than your opponent. You have confidence that your goalie can stop the other teams from scoring. You force your opposition to play a perimeter offensive style. You keep the middle of the ice clear wo shots come from the sides, making it easier for your goaltender. You clear the puck out of your defensive side as quickly as possible. And you keep throwing the puck into their zone. Once Florida had the lead, all that mattered was playing defense. One game at a time. PS no, Canadian teams don't deserve to win. There is no "win-o-meter." The team with the most goals win.
lol nothing about shots, it's fact they carried play. and dictated the pace for better part of 60minutes. Florida won the game, because they were opportunistic. Capitalized on the few scoring chances they did have, and Bob shut the door.
look at Puck possession, Ozone time, Rush chances, high danger Chances. it wasn't close!!!!!!!! so before you come here commenting with your insightful "Hockey expertise" you best know how to analyze the game of hockey.
exactly right, one game doesn't decide a series. Bob has the capabilities to steal it, but doesn't mean he will.. Rangers Shiesterkin seemed unbeatable too. Cats eventually got to him, just like Oilers will to Bobrovsky.
Takeaway: growing the game in Florida aka America more important than fans in Edmonton/Canada. Brought to you by Sportsnet, America hockey's #1 boosters
i'd like to see the cup at centre ice for the anthems when it is a game 7. what frustrates me is i have no idea what quennville did or didn't do to warrant a suspension of this length. an interview he did a few weeks ago he doesn't seem to know what it is he did.
Edmonton did not dominate the game. Floridia GM and coaching staff understand the strength and weakness of both teams. it kind of looks like how CBJ swept the bolts. If I could take a selfie with anybody on both teams, its Paul Maurice
The "deserved/liklihood to win" metric had Oilers at 92%. They had 18 high danger chances to Florida's 6. Oilers outplayed them by nearly every single metric outside of goaltending
Jeff please stop butchering Luostarinen. In Finnish you pronounce every letter LOO oh Stah ree nen. The letter i is always like a long e as in Italian like "pizza". The o is always like the letter o in English. Honestly you could spend 5 minutes and learn the vowels in Finnish because they are always the same not like in English.
LOL. Not a chance. 1967 vs 1892 Ya, only a 75 year discrepancy. You’ve been around for 57 years and Stanley has been around for only 132 years. No one ever said how hard the Lombardi Trophy was to win. It may be more popular but NOT iconic.
@@johnnybaxter1953 As opposed to "looks like a bedpan"? Lombardi is "trophy for winning the undisputed single most important sporting event held each year".
The Stanley Cup is definitely nice. But the best? Have you seen the Champions League trophy? That’s a thing of beauty. The most glorious and toughest trophy to win in team sport. Nice try tho
