I own a Ram 1500 with the shitty 65RFE, and it's still going strong, even with 127,000 miles. I'm definitely doing the 8HP90 swap when the new cam comes in. Dodge knows how to make transmissions. I mean, look at the Torqueflite 727 one of the best 3-speed transmissions ever made. Chevy and Ford honestly have a lot more transmissions that suck than Dodge lmao.
@@ByIntros are you referring to the Nag1 5-speed in the Chargers and Challengers? Because that is a good transmission built. Now, the 65RFE 6-speed, which is in the Ram 1500 from 2012-2015, is trash they can't be built anything over 550 Torque reliably.
The problem is that most people abuse the heck out of these V8 cars. They’re constantly doing burn outs, not shifting properly via the paddles, and never service the transmission. It’s only a matter time before the drive train gives out.
Maybe his priorities are exactly where they need to be. He wants a home but doesn’t need a full size house so a trailer is perfect. Better then renting an apartment and having to deal with crappy neighbors and a landlord.
This happened to me the other night in my accurate on the highway and I swear. It felt like god just rolled me home because the wheels was catching no traction😂
On chargers it's hard to tell because when you have it on sport mode or track mode the rpms seem to idle high like if it's not shifting but it's really waiting on you to punch it for take off
It maybe the transmission but could also be low oil pressure valve cover gasket or you need an o-ring set for your oil filter housing and cooling block it’s not always the transmission good video tho
Don't sweat it bro. I just spent 6 grand on a rebuilt transmission because I scored the aluminum around the main filter seal. Slipping is bad, but you don't ever wanna feel what a blown transmission feels like (it feels like nothing because it doesn't do anything)
Not trans, torque converter failing. If it was the transmission it wouldn't move, or it would over rev and throw codes like a christmas tree. Trade it in for a nice turbo Lexus LC 😎
I’ve seen these cars still running mint with over 100k, and I’ve seen ones running like shit with less than 50k. How you treat your vehicle plays a huge role in how well it lasts. I test drove a 112k mile charger sxt just for the fuck of it, still drove and shifted like it was new.
Good eye. I didn’t notice the column shifter and spotlight delete before you mentioned it. Dude got that abused cruiser from the auction and wondering why it runs like garbage lol
That sucks! Transmission problems are probably the worse to have. I bought a used Dodge yesterday from a private seller/owner who said there was nothing wrong with it but driving around for a bit today the transmission started to slip when I got between 20-30MPH. And buys like these are 99% as is so no returns. Fricken great. 😞
Any dodge motor has no rings left. The first thing they do is cut the mufflers out why its sounds horrible. Spend some money on exhaust and gain torque and bottom end pull
This was a ex cop car you can tell by the certified speedometer (certified means it has no speed limiter) The transmission was likely pretty beat when he got it and he made it worse driving it the way he did.
More like a tutorial on how to make a slipping transmission get hot and slip worse. Eventually they’ll hit the gas, and it will be no different than having the car in neutral
I don’t think it’s the transmission. It’s the driver. Also, there would more than likely be a transmission warning light, as many newer dodge models do
I brought a jeep to 250k miles, never servicing the transmission, and it never slipped, never grinded. Because I wasn’t driving it like I was trying to explode it
The thing is everybody always want to do mods to their car. I just leave my stock because it’s really not worth it. What you need all that power for and to make all that noise for plus you have to actually take care of it and not beat it to death.
These transmissions are pretty good I have 270k on my 300s with the same transmission. If you don’t beat the shit out of a car itll run fine. I’ve seen toyota aisin transmissions with slipping gears at 100k miles so it’s all up to the owner. How they drive it and if they drive it crazy how often they change the fluid (this owner probably didn’t know you have to change the transmission fluid) Also this was a ex cop car you can tell by the certified speedometer (certified means it has no speed limiter)
