Yes. Along with Steve Perry, Lou Gramm, Paul Rodgers, Brad Delp, Freddy Curci, Mike from Steelheart, Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio, Geoff Tate, David Coverdale and some others.
Jimi had one of the best voices, in my opinion, right up there with Steve Perry. They are the best! Jimi has a lot of solo music I didn't find until after he passed away. You can't go wrong with any of the songs on Survivor's Vital Signs album and several awesome songs on the albums that followed. There's also several songs with One Mans Trash, an album with Bobby Kimball (former lead singer of Toto), and an album with Jim Peterik (keyboards w/Survivor). You should definitely continue checking out his music. I hope you continue reacting to Jimi's music.
One of my all time favourite singers! It was a sad day when he passed away RIP :( I know you have already checked out some of his Survivor stuff. He released a solo album 2012 called Never Too Late that not many people know about. Brilliant album. Perhaps check out 'Bullet in the Gun' from it. Or even for the softer side try 'November Rain' from his 1999 solo album Empires.
Loved Jimi, didn't realised he had died until a few years later. I had a lot happening at the time he died so I missed it. He had an epic voice glad I got to see him in concert a few years before. Gone way, way too soon.
On Jimi’s headstone are the words from this song. “In us all we have the power. Sometimes it is so hard to see that instinct is stronger than reason. It’s just human nature to me I’ll be ready. don’t you fear forever and always I’m always here.” Now I know you guys said he was the original singer for survivor the original lead singer. His name was Dave Bickler just a little history lesson here because I absolutely love Jimmy Jamison when he was in cobra, target and survivor and solo and I miss him dearly. You should actually listen to some of the songs from the album too hot to sleep Jimmy came in and did all the songs on vital signs which were amazing songs, some of my favorites anyways my two. Cents
My favorite singer! So sad I didn’t get see survivor before he passed. Yes, definitely check out some survivor songs. It’s the singer not the song, high on you, I cant hold back..
@@derkins69 Me too. I prefer the 2nd though. Target were from tennessee. The same with Creed. Are you familiar with them? Their debut album is great. A little southern.
I have always loved his voice. I agree you need to check out some songs when he was with the group Survivor. Their Vital Signs album is one of my all time favorites. There is not a bad track on it. I recommend "High On You", "I Can't Hold Back", "First Night" and "I See You In Everyone".
@@ssRocker-nn3tp I agree with your choices too. I actually could have named every song on the album and would have been happy to hear them react to any of them.
@@donnakubiski5572 Vital Signs is a real AOR classic. One of the best ever. Along with another favorite of mine. The Fortune album from 85. There are lots of others. But these two spring to mind. The Classic AOR era. Roughly from 82 til 85. It,s great to know, that there are still lots of people with good taste in Music. Other than that Rap Crap. Best from the Netherlands.
UNA DE LAS GRANDIOSAS VOCES DEL ROCK DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS, JIMI JAMISON Y SU VOZ SUBLIME, TANTO EN COBRA, COMO EN SURVIVOR, DEMOSTRASTE QUE FUISTE Y SEGUIRÀS SIENDO UN GRANDE DEL ROCK, Q.E.P.D JIMI. SE TE EXTRAÑA.
Now that's a great vibe of a song! (First time listening). Your video-dropping is greatly appreciated! Have a very blessed day! You are greatly appreciated.
Jimi Jamison was born in Mississippi at 1 day old he moved with his mother to Memphis and that was his home until he died. He is a great singer and always compared to Steve Perry but I prefer Jimi he is the only rock singer I never heard people bad mouth they say he had a heart of gold to go with his golden voice. I love everything he sings but one of my favorites is I See You In Everyone but the long version has Frankie playing a tooo long solo so I would play the other version
@@ssRocker-nn3tp He just split with Cobra before joining Survivor. Listen to I've Been A Fool Before, Only You Can Rock Me, Looking At You and more when he sang with Cobra they are really good songs
@@genabourassa7962 Absolutely. Travelin Man, Danger Zone, Blood On Your Money, Looking At You and Fallen Angel are my favorite tracks from this album. There is some rare live footage of Cobra. Doing Midnight Machine. Not on this album. Check it out.
Baywatch premiered in 1989. It was so fun hearing that song again. Like TC Arnold wrote it was a guilty pleasure for most of us. I indeed watched it for David Hasselhoff who I liked when he played in Knight Rider. If you are going to check out some older series I would suggest Miami Vice (a gritty cop show) from the 80's. They had lots of great music and great guest stars like Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Sheena Easton, etc. Two great shows from the 70's are Happy Days a family comedy/drama about the 1950's and M.A.S.H., a comedy/drama about a Mobile Army Surgical Unit during the Korean War that ran for 11 seasons.
Baywatch (1989-2001) was pretty much family-friendly T&A. Most people don't actually remember the stories (saving lives, stopping criminals, dealing w/ disasters, relationship issues, random pro-wrestler cameos, etc...). It was really all about looking at those beach bods running in slow motion.
@@dianne6155 Both series are iconic and constantly got referenced by other 90s shows. Though I don't recall Baywatch referencing Friends. Then again, I was probably too distracted by the bikini babes.
@@jp3813 haha. if i may, when joey moved in with chandler he introduced BW to him. chandler would watch with the duck and chick and named the chick “yasmine”. other times referenced as well. it was one of their things
How is it possible that I know every word of this song, but haven't heard it in decades? As a child I loved David Hasselhoff's Knight Rider series and the instrumental theme song. We couldn't record, pause or rewind back then, so as soon as you heard the tune you had to drop everything and sit in front of the TV so as not to miss anything. A theme song I like to listen to every now and then is "Crockett's Theme" from Miami Vice. And of course "Happy Days".
So many memories of my adolescence come to my mind, I remember when the show Guardians of the Bay began, and I heard that voice singing that song, very difficult to forget!😢
Ok kids ! Heres my last suggestion to you - for female friday - Chaka kahn with Rufus written by Stevie Wonder with Chaka - Came out 49 years ago this month - The tune is "Tell me something good " i promise its the funkiest song ever - and you'll want to dance !!
Ah so many memories! The stories were action packed (if a little cheesy), the acting wasn't all that great, the bodies were beautiful - this was a guilty pleasure for so many of us in the 90s! I mean, you gotta love the Hoff!
LOVERBOY - " THIS COULD BE THE NIGHT " and. " DESTINATION HEARTBREAK " from 1984 these 2 songs became super popular during the 80s with it's powerful sound and romantic lyrics , and Super Bass plus Heavy Drum Beats the Leads voice is incredible.
As long as you're doing TV themes -- Cheers Theme, I'll Be There for Your (Friends - the Rembrants), Dallas, Moonlighting (Al Jarreau), The A-Team, Taxi (Bob James), The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not - Joey Scarbury) - I'm sure there are others you can find as well!
Hey fellow rob squad family members, as we enjoy these videos together remember to take a second and give the video a thumbs up. It is a great free way to support Amber and Jay.
I'm sorry, but I am not going to like music I don't like. I don't like Survivor and I don't like Baywatch. I respect the music I respect. I have very broad tastes, but I don't like what I don't like.
@@johnmaynardable 😂 , aren’t you special, it’s more about liking Jay and Amber , not necessarily the song !!! Go listen to someone else’s channel then !!!
@@WestsideCritters Aren't you rude, all of you. I am not going to like something I don't like. I have been following them since Jay started the channel, but I have never liked videos I don't like.
You have a lot to explore. Check out the Survivor albums Vital Signs, When seconds count, Too Hot To Sleep and the Cobra album First Strike. All with the Fantastic vocals of Jimi Jamison. May he rest in Peace.
A couple of years after Knight Rider - David Hasselhoff went to the beach for what started as a summer series for NBC in 1989 then at some point went to syndication throughout the 90s. I tapped out watching it when it seem like it was all about getting more women in bathing suits. Also, the show at times turn into MTV. You’ll be watching an episode then next you knew you’re watching a music video. It was one heck of a franchise back then. Jimi sang the song as it was coming on, but Hasselhoff sung the song Current of Love as it went off; something you don’t see on television anymore.
Baywatch was just a feel-good show, it wasn't great TV or anything but whenever you heard this song blasting you just knew you were going to have a chilled out time for the next hour.
That kick was piano was Cory Lerios of Pablo Cruise!! He also played on and I think wrote the Baywatch theme song. There are GREAT Pablo Cruise songs with unbelievable plank and the hits aren't their best songs.
Well, I was today years old when I found out that this is who sang the Baywatch song. Sometimes you just don't think about the actual people who sing TV themes. Of course, now I guess you'll have to listen to some David Hasselhoff music. It's out there! 😉
I agree. David Hasselhoff does have some really good music. Quite a few songs of his were used in Baywatch - Current of Love and I Believe (w/Laura Branigan)(both songs used as closing credits for the show), Until The Last Tear Drop Falls (w/Jayne Collins in the episode), Days of Our Love, Lifeline, The Best is Yet to Come, These Lovin’ Eyes and I’m sure I’m missing one or more that were used.
That's a blast from the past lol, i definitely remember Baywatch not for Pamela Anderson tho, I watched it for Billy Warlock, David chokachi, Jason simmons and David charvet, all gorgeous, and it had some stories were good too, Bay watch was in 1989. Other great songs and singers I recommend are, Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder, Just An Illusion by Imagination, Somebody Elses Guy by Jocelyn Brown, Close To You By Maxi Priest, In The Stone By Earth Wind and fire, Baffalo Stance by Neneh Cherry, Lile Sugar by Chaka Khan. Redemption Song by Bob Marley, Teardrop by Massive Attack, With In The End by Linkin Park. All awesome songs i think you'll love guys.😎🎵👌
Kasey Chambers - 'Lose Yourself' - (Live Eminem Cover) This version was made for the two of you. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST SEE TRACK.......What happens when COUNTRY meets RAP. Kasey Chambers (she is an Australian Country superstar) doing a live cover of Eminem's 'Lose Yourself'. Completely unique take - definitely something for both of you. - AMAZING.
Lol- clueless reading the title, bug I recognized the voice instantly. I hope you will take the suggestions for the Survivor songs he sang lead on- you won’t be disappointed
There is also the duet from Laura Branigan and David Hasselhoff called "I Believe " which is also from the Baywatch soundtrack. Laura Branigan is amazing!!
If you like Jimi Jamison, you'll be blown away by Kevin Chalfant. He was the singer behind the 80s band 707 and reformed a version of Journey in 1990 that legally couldn't be called Journey so they called themselves "The Storm". They had some killer songs such as "Show Me The Way", "I've Got A Lot To Learn About Love", and "Waiting For The World To Change" that Amber will swoon and melt over! 😊
@@ssRocker-nn3tp Kevin Chalfant lost the Survivor gig because Jamison auditioned the next day. He has a much higher register but a powerful voice nonetheless. I would just love to hear his version of "The Search Is Over" because the goosebumps on my arms tell he barely lost to Jamison. Peterik said Jamison brought sincerity to everything he sang in that audition. When he sang the lyrics with his delivery, you believed him. Yup. Indeed. Kasey Casem called him "The Voice" and he was not kidding.
The first time I read that Baywatch was actually not a hit in the US I was GOBSMACKED. I’m from Italy, and let me tell you, I remember three things from my childhood: Xena, Prince of Bel Air and Baywatch. And Baywatch specifically was so much fun because I could literally just play the role of any of the protagonists whenever I went to the beach... except I would always end up almost drowning my brother lmaoooo but yeah, man, that show probably did not age as well as I think it did. I remember nothing except for the slow-mo running on the beach and like, Hasselhoff being charismatic. But I guess Baywatch is more about this song and the mood than anything else. Anyway, still an iconic show AND an iconic song.
Erika Eleniak is what am immediately reminded of. Pls check out the earlier seasons, with Hasselhoff, Parker Stevenson, Erika Eleniak, Billy Warlock in the cast. Earlier Baywatch is the best.
I think the best music from a TV show was Battlestar Galactica (early 2000's) that was written by Bear McCreary. Epic jungle drums, orchestras, howling electric guitars, and eastern instruments. They did live concerts of the music. One standout is the cover of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower from that live concert that starts with one of the lead actresses (Katee Sackhoff) playing a piano (similar to how it played out within the context of the show).
Jimi Jamison was a great singer. Seemingly effortless vocals. He's not the original singer for Survivor though, that would be David Bickler. Check him out with his previous bands Target and Cobra.
