I just got out of prison after 7 years, and I didn't care for catching up with movies, or TV shows, but music has always been part of my DNA. I discovered this song by pure chance, and it moved me in ways that it felt like church, but a real church full of good folks, and although I felt out of place while listening to the song, by the end of it I felt included. I looped that song for 3 days straight after that, and it is the rink tone to my morning alarm. I shared that particular performance with my LinkedIn connections and people kept hitting my DM asking me about them. Great review!
You will love the Colours version of “Rain”. After I lost my father I suffered depression and listening to it every night before retiring sustained me.
I’m Aussie , I’m so proud of this band, I saw them years ago in a Mexican restaurant gig bar called el sol in Cronulla beach sydney and was blown away ,a lot of there songs give me goosebumps 💙 you are really sweet
That was an awesome performance! Their harmonies and vocals carried the song with minimal use of instruments. Really enjoyed it! Thanks for the reaction!
Such an un-assuming band, you would never imagine a voice like that from face value. Nothing better than the Teskey Brothers playing in the background while sitting beside the campfire with good company. Thankyou for your reaction to these guys. I knew you would love them.
That song had 4 parts, hum intro was soft and subtle, and it set a tone. The second part when you heard that sound like a cathedral inside his mouth sing, "Hold me, but don't hold me down" for the first time set another tone, singing the chorus first is such a powerful choice. It's a preview for the audience of what they are going to want to do later. The exchange builds of him singing to the audience with that angelical harmony and synchronized clapping. His silence while the audience sings back, then he starts throwing the even more bluesy lyrics sprinkled into the audience's chorus. Like they were all creating something together. Can you imagine that ride home?
Just came across these guys a few months back, “Rain” & “So Caught Up” were the only songs Ive heard til now. Awesome band & music! Also great vid and song!
This is fantastic! More white boys singing black soul. I just recently heard St. Paul & the Broken Bones and they sound the same. Jamal is right, "color don't matter, if you can sang you can sang!" Steely Dan once said "hard times befallen the soul survivors." Well don't worry Steely, soul is back baby!
I would give this performance and your reaction 👍👍👍👍👍👍 x 💯. I absolutely fell in love with this the first time I heard it a while back, and I immediately knew I had to introduce you to them! By your smile and your body language I could tell that this live show had the same impact on you as it did on me 🥰 I really wish they were popular in the USA. People here are missing out!
From Ireland,,new subscribe here! Thanks for your videos..firts time I here this band....and what a voice!!After few seconds I was thinking about one of the best live albums of all time....Sam Cooke - One Night Stand! Live at the Harlem Square Club from 1963... Bring It On Home To Me..good example....
Smiles ... you found one of our treasures ... The Teskey Brothers. One of my favourite bands. Live well, you have see what they are like. And the brother's voices are just amazing and so sweet.
Sing it sis…your so cool, I can imagine you head banging at a rock concert… Never heard of these guys before but wow, they are great…thanks for sharing… party on!
Rogue, take a listen to The Teskey Brothers - "Pain And Misery" (Official Video) and "Rain" (a Colors Show) ... Josh Teskey has such a soulful voice in these two songs, incredible... sending shivers down my spine! A touch of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and a lot from his own soul...
I saw them in Maryland fall 24 at the Phillimore in silver springs on a Saturday night. I felt it in my soul for a week. Top five show for my 53 yr old self.
Have you ever watched 'When Something Is Wrong With My Baby' by Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham on RU-vid? That are two Australian legends and that song is amazing.
One must be dead inside if this doesn't move you on some level...and to RogueRxyce you have one the most beautiful faces that I have seen in my decades on the planet and voice of liquid silk. Take care.
Im back can you please react to another Australian brother of mine. We are locked down we need some help and joy. The song is Battle Field. Guy Sebastian at the London Eurovision party
Bittersweet for me. First time I saw these live was as news of Kobe's death was coming through. Listening to "Pain and Misery" as you're learning of your idol's possible death was overwhelming
Darling!,, They make me cry! Every time! I’m Australian. My wife is Bolivian. 3 weeks ago. Amazing. They are so special!,, J ust like Australia!,, i feel your emotions eactions. So special. Xx
I have after it was over I decided to walk back home which was around 3 miles. I had the stupidest smile on my face all the way there. Took a shower and just before going to sleep a tear rolled down. It was a borderline spiritual experience.
Hey girl, just wanted to say a quick thank you. I'm really not very good at projecting emotions, and I find music really helps me understand things others take for granted, and put things into perspective. I live alone and often turn to youtube for my favourite songs to provoke some form of emotion, and recently discovered your channel. It has been very refreshing, i often respond to your comments and it's been fun to discover new music with you. I wish you every success, please keep doing you and uploading! x
I'd never heard of these guys. They were awesome. Thanks for the introduction. :-) ... I don't know if you've ever heard her music, there's a young singer-songwriter from New Zealand you should check out. I discovered her music about 20 years ago. I think she's awesome. Bic Runga. Some of my favs include: Beautiful Collision, Sway, Drive, Get Some Sleep, Bursting Through,... and more.
Beautiful soul!! Yours AND theirs!!! I just happened upon this as I was searching for lyrics for their song Forever You and Me. Thanks for sharing. I need to dry my eyes some more!! ; )
Wow wow wow. What a great voices. Up till a short while ago I had never heard of these Bro's. I was listening to my soul and jazz radiostation (NPO) in the Netherlands and while listening I thought it was Sam Cooke or otherwise other brothers like Otis Redding,Wilson Pickett, James Carr. You might know what I mean. The brothers blow me away especially after I saw their appearances. How amazing they are. Believe me, I was about to cry. So beautiful. So soulful. When they are in Amsterdam I have to see them. P.S.: After I saw and heard their performances I immediately introduced them to Kitty - my partner. She also loves the performances. I hope to see the Bro's in Amsterdam. Wow wow wow.
