That voice! Damian Wilson is a powerful presence on the stage. This is a magnificent and compelling song.

What a stunning voice. I think i've seen most of this show but there are so many great singers in it i can't keep track of them all lol.

One of may favorites of the concert. The DVD can't do it justice though. Damian is awesome and such a nice guy. Seen him quite a few years ago in a small venue in Belgium. He thanked eveyone after the show, shook eveybody's hand and took some time to talk to eveyone who wanted to.

Any singer or musician Ayreon collaborates with ..... is from another planet. Arjen is great at finding the right people for his songs.

Damian Wilson : this man is an experience. If you haven't heard these two Ayreon live clips, try Intergalactic Space Crusaders, and Twisted Coil. So much fun. This song is a little H.G.Wells time capsule back into some psychedelic early 70's tunes I remember hearing (but can't remember the band or song title). CD's? Still waiting, but I remain hopeful. ,,, and the mail delivery, turned to stone...

What a voice! I am looking so much forward to see his solo show on 1. November. Apparently he reviews all stations of his 30 year long career, so I bet there will be some Ayreon in there, maybe even this one. He is such a nice guy. In September before the doors opened for the Ayreon shows he once again walked along the queue and stopped every 5 meters to chat or take photos with the fans.

Ah you have met my favourite singer that has worked with Ayreon (sorry Hansi and Mike Mills XD) I met him when I saw Ayreon live (which I still cannot believe, like what) I will see him again on his solo tour on the 4th of November and I am excited! I also have a picture of him anyways unto the story! So this is from the Universal Migrator album from part 1 the Dream Sequencer, this album focuses on the last human alive on the Mars colony all the other humans died (very fun universe haha). Air is running out on the Mars colony so the Colonist (our protagonist) uses the Dream Sequencer which allows it's user to view memories from the user's past lives and each song follows a different past life including this one! There's also another Ayreon protagonist mentioned in one of those songs which is Ayreon himself the blind minstrel from the 6th century. Anyways I own part 2 of The Universal Migrator album which is Flight Of The Migrator and I own the Universal Migrator comic. I do highly encourage you to listen to each album from start to finish to understand the story more but that is not what people will request and most people will focus on the songs with Floor which is a shame because every singer that has worked on Ayreon is amazing! Including Damian Wilson my personal favourite and so I ask you to react to The Electric Castle Live and Other Tales as it features him as The Knight! The Other Tales part of the concert are songs from other projects that Arjen has done including Twisted Coil from The Guilt Machine project while it does not have the original singer it is Damian Wilson singing Twisted Coil instead and he does an amazing job.

I consider Damian Wilson right up there at the same level as Floor Jansen

I just checked him on wikipedia and noticed he worked 20 years ago with Rick Wakeman and the English Rock Ensemble. That is enough for me to be impressed, but he worked on many projects after that including various Dutch ones....

And the Druids Turn to Stone is the ninth song on Universal Migrator Part 1: The Dream Sequencer. Plot. In 2800 BC, the Colonist witnesses the creation of Stonehenge, which was the result of a ritual performed by a group of druids who performed a magic ritual to turn themselves to stone for unknown purposes. Side note About his mic technique: There is indeed a purpose and it doesn't have that much to do with him singing higher notes but more with the volume. He is carefully avoiding the microphone to be overloaded when he really goes for it, which makes the job of the soundman so much easier. Damien Wilson is a total pro, has done lots of other work as well including musical theatre and that clearly shows here. And the keyboardist: sir Joost van den Broek (Arjen's right hand man). The Netherlands-based, sir Joost van den Broek has produced, arranged, and mixed albums for over 10 years (Including to Dutch King) with great international success. Working for clients like Epica, Ayreon, Powerwolf and Blind Guardian, he has build up an impressive portfolio, received multiple gold and platinum awards and gained a reputation in the metal scene by consistently delivering the highest standard in modern, epic productions. All Ayreon projects are amazing. I always compare it to Nightwish as of the same epic level. No wonder so many excellent singers love to participate. I saw this extremely talented gentleman in Tilburg a couple of weeks ago at the Ayreon "beneath the waves" concert. Damian checked the mile long waiting line beforehand " to check the waters". Willing to have a chat with the fans in that line. That is a very nice gesture. I instantly liked the guy.

Ayreon is such a cool project. I really like going into these albums without knowing who is guesting on them, just to see if I can place the voice or band they might be from. I'm not sure that I've heard Damian before, but damn what a voice! 🤘🤘

Damian is awesome. If you liked his voice, check out Threshold and Headspace, two of "his" bands. You may like another singer with a similar range, who can make these high, soaring vocals sound effortless without going into falsetto: Robert Lowe of Solitude Aeturnus. Most people have never heard of these Texan doomsters, check them out sometime.
